This small flat top brush is very dense and soft. I use this to apply liquid foundations and it’s able to give me different coverage based on how I use it.
I pat for full coverage or buff to get a sheerer airbrush look. At about $40 Cad it’s SO expensive (That’s why I gave 4 lippies) but it’s one of those investment pieces that will last a long time.
I debated between this and Shiseido’s foundation brush and chose FX because of the longer handle; its more comfortable and easier to apply for me.
I like how it’s not a huge flat top like Sigma’s F80 because the smaller FX allows more precision and flawless coverage. Yes, applying foundation might take an extra minute longer but coverage is more flawless; plus it’s small enough that I can use it for concealer under the eyes, highlighting on cheeks, or contouring. It’s a versatile brush and I would recommend.

OMG, this brush is AMAZING!! i’m a professional make-up artist and have been using synthetic foundation brushes for quite some time. i decided to get this on a whim, tested it out on myself, and am now planning to phase out all the other foundation brushes in my make-up kit and replacing it with this one. you can build coverage really easily by buffing the foundation in circular motions. or you can sheer it out by just doing long strokes. that’s so great b/c you can add coverage where you need and keep it light on the rest of your face. a definite high-quality brush that i’ve been recommending to everyone!

I have been on the search to find a nice flat top foundation brush for my Kat-Von-D liquid foundation, and am SUPER pleased with the performance of this brush!! It does not shed at all, the heavy foundation washes out easily from the bristles, AND the bristles are soft yet sturdy– they work excellent for both stippling and blending the foundation. HIGHLY recommend!!! 🙂
