I’ve had this brush for about 4 years. I kid you not. Its STILL going strong. It got kind a”lost” in my makeup trunk for a while, as I was using regular powder brushes. But my last powder brush kept falling apart and shedding like a sick dog after every wash. I got fed up and went back to my trust Mark kabuki (dont know why I ever stopped using it) and booooyyyy does my makeup look GREAT the past few days. I will never neglect this brush again. I need to buy a few more. Cheap and GREAT quality. I use it with my powder foundation, or to apply powder over my liquid foundation. Ive been reading that it can be used to apply liquid foundation, so Im gonna try that in the morning.
Excellent product, and from Avon, who’dathunkitt?? 😀

Love this Brush, Small and compact comes with lid so it won’t bronze up your makeup bag and works as well as some of the Sephora brushes I’ve tried!!!! Definatley worth the money, Think I paid like $7 for mine and I have had it for almost a year and it’s still going. Unlike some other Kabuki brushes I have tried the shed on this one is minimal, I mean they all shed some but this doesn’t do it all the time..Will re-purchase a new one for summer for sure…Love it!

this kabuki is a small kabuki compared to many i have seen/tried. I like how there is a part of the brush that pops up to protect the bristles so you can put the cap on. it can be difficult to clean, and when i did a few bristles came out, but it did hold up for about 8 months. with it being on the smaller end of kabukis it made it difficult to contour with, and with blush, but i used it more for highlighter and it works well for that.
Rated 5 out of 5 by NooneNight from Got this for just $11.99, put it in a shower bottle that was also thrown away. Decent coverage and good coverage, a base color. Wanted a smaller color that was easy to change so I copied my old iris for the Dragon Diamond Reflector to have a bigger orange to dark pale blue finish. this shade can be applied like many cherry shades. Lots of my friends also have pink kabuki brushes but mine came out really yellow with the left-hand applicator… no green, no green, not even a tiny little green. Very disappointing at first… after getting some use with it the purple called out to remove the edge of the brush. Soon when my second use (that I had on my brow – golly) I realized it would be difficult to find the blue. In fact I picked it up for my old favorite emerald where the middle layer said it didn’t care and I thought, “OK, this can be improved” when it started working, but from my own experiences i can understand how this is not where it should be. I tried many colors but had problems adding any new ones at the very last minute for convenience. It took months to complete the polishing routine and I don’t know how it will turn out. It feels nice to be able to throw up on brushes with a simple kabuki brush and be safe in that space where they are placed. I would suggest using a double curl red or peachy purple or whatever you like, and then using something small in a circular shape to extend the kabuki around the brush once it starts expanding. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If this was all that simple i would probably have moved it into it’s official other name. I just don’t like the idea that the K&R can’t brush down to black or brown now and then which is an added bonus when everyone else does the same thing.

I purchased my Japonesque Kabuki brush in 2001 (over 18 years ago) and it is still just fine – minimal shedding and cleans up nicely with a mild brush cleanser. Now granted, I don’t reach for that big-ass kabuki nearly as much as my cheek or powder brushes but when I need a gentle sweep of powder – Japonesque’s Kabuki is my go-to.
Every gal should have a Kabuki in her collection – just try before you buy to see if the bristle are soft enough – some are too “scratchy”.
enragedPiglet6
Terrible workmanship. The bristles came out from the ferrule so many times. I had to glue the damned thing back together. Sheds like crazy with colour bleeding.

This is for the Femme Couture Kabuki brush available at Sally’s. I’ve used the buki from BE, and it fell apart quickly and was kind of prickly/scratchy when I used it. This inexpensive brush from Femme Couture is soft and applies the mineral makeup flawlessly. It’s not quite as thick as the BE brush (or the Mac I’ve tried,) but it works great. Definitely will buy again!

I tried the Italian Badger Kabuki Brush. It is so fluffy and smooth at the same time. I almost purchased another bareMinerals brand kabuki brush at $25.00 beacuse my old one was starting to shed hairs. It didn’t compare to the quality of this nice little brush. It doesn’t hardly take up any room in my bag and it spreads the powder evenly and swiftly. And no hairs have fallen out so far.
It only cost me $14 at http://www.thebrushcompany.com

Everyone complains about scratchy kabuki brushes but I got one by Takara (they also supply brushes for MAC) and it is made of velvety soft goat hair. Just a pleasure to use. http://www.takaracanada.com
joyfulGranola1
This brush is cheaply made and very scratchy. I bought the Bobbi Brown brush and feel it is definitely worth the price, while this brush is of such shoddy quality that I feel ripped-off.
debonairRuffs7
I am generally pleased with this brush for the price..However, it was not as soft as some of the more expensive brands..I washed mine and conditioned it due to another reviewer’s comments. Thankfully, that made the brush very soft..It’s a nice “entry-level” kabuki brush..However, in the future, I will buy either BE Kabuki or Cat cosmetics kabuki..
pridefulSyrup7
This thing is so harsh, I’d never recommend this to anyone.
wakefulBuck2
super harsh on my skin
needyHyena8
This kabuki brush is a lifesaver!! I had a few pimples i needed to cover up, i used this, and their completely covered up! This is pricey, but it works!
lazyAbalone7
I have several of these from over the years from kits. They are my favorite Kabuki brushes. They are very soft and apply mineral foundations flawlessly. They do shed a tiny bit, but I have had them for 10 years and they still have their shape completely, are super soft, and have never come loose from the glue. I think these are great quality brushes that don’t get enough attention.
IMO anything that can last for over 10 years with no noticeable wear is great. I don’t have issues with the brushes being too big for the lid when gathering product and they always work great. These are well worth the price on their own.
thriftyWasp6
Hm. Don’t get me wrong I still use this brush. But it has shed quite a bit. Other than that I can use it to put on liquid foundation or any of the bare escentuals makeup. However, the shedding is noticable as well as some of the hair breaking off.
euphoricLard5
Very coarse brush!, itch my face every time I use. Very expensive too. Not worth the money.
pitifulOcelot6
I got this brush to use with my mineral veil, the lady at Sephora went on and on about how wonderful it is, and even though I had a brush that I planned on using with this product, I got it anyway. It was fairly expensive, but I know that you get what you pay for. The biggest problem I had with this brush was that it was way too big to fit into the lid of my mineral makeup, and there would only be makeup on a part of the brush, so nothing would go on even and it was a disaster to fix it. I was not thrilled, but I ended up keeping it- hoping I would find a use for it. I trier a few other things- all of which I had no luck with. And after washing it on a regular basis after trying these different products- the whole style of the brush changed… it got pretty hard, wasnt nearly as soft as it once was… the bristles also started curling and changing shapes even though i was very careful about how i stored it, and how i washed it. I have had it with the brush, i think i have to pretty much given up on it, but i keep ig around because of how much money i spent on it…

I purchased a pack from Myer that included the Blush called “blooming nude” I love this colour and got the blush brush included for all for $45. This brush is the most perfect shape to apply blush to your cheeks with and is so soft. I wouldn’t have purchased the brush or blush separately because they are usually around $45 each but I am really glad I found this pack because I really enjoy the products.
mercifulStork3
I loved it, it was a luxorious, handy in size, and very precise in application…while it lasted. Unfortunately, the handle fell apart from the brush head very soon after purchase (no more than three weeks). I still use the head, to apply blush, but for the price I would expect something that lasts.
shamefulHeron4
Absolutely love this brush. It is so soft and extremely dense and feels great on my skin. It does feel luxurious. I haven’t tried any others, but don’t feel that I need to. It makes application of powders – pressed or loose – really easy, simple and quick. Easy to apply the right amount. The finish is beautiful. Its vegan, so no cruelty. Don’t have any frizzing of the hairs when cleaning it like previous reviewer, though it does take a long time to dry… probably because it is so lovely and dense. Love it! Expensive compared to others, but I haven’t compared the quality.
sheepishOil9
This is THE softest synthetic vegan kabuki brush ever! It’s super fluffy and is incredibly dense! Like the person below me, I was never a fan of powdered products but this kabuki just made me love the simplicity of swirling the brush in the powder and swirling the velvety smooth hair fibres on my face. It dispenses the right amount of powder on my face, never too much or too little. Definitely annoying to clean though, it takes absolutely forever to dry (reason why I took a star off) & the hairs kinda frizz up. It does keep it’s shape though, which is great!
eagerBurritos7
This is my favourite beauty tool. I can not rave about this brush enough. It completely outshines other kabuki brushes i have tried including mac. I never thought I would describe a brush as luxurious but that’s exactly what this is. Its super dense but super soft. This made me love using powder on my face. I just thought powders just weren’t for me until I started using this as it picks up the right amount of product and the density and weight of it gives you a gorgeous result on the skin. Its also 100% vegan and cruelty free which is an added bonus for me. This is truly best quality and i honestly testify that i think this is the best kabuki brush on the market. I never thought I could find the best of anything, that’s how much i love this.
It does come with a hefty price tag though $49.95 AUD, but i found it at less than half price at various online stockists. but the price is truly worth it.

This brush blends evenly and is very soft and smooth. It has nylon bristles which help perfecting your makeup application. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this brush & will be ordering more of these pro-quality brushes. They work just as well if not better than Sigma and a fraction of the price. I hated waiting for shipping since you have to buy these online, but so worth the wait!!! I ordered mine from my avon representative!!!
ardentVenison6
Just felt like reviewing this because I just received a new one that’s a billion degrees better than the brush I bought from them 2-3 years ago…so Im fairly certain they redesigned their brushes within the last couple years. In fact I still have the old one (it was collecting dust in my makeup brush graveyard) and compared them and the hair isn’t even the same color, and its MUCH softer, seems somewhat fuller, denser and overall yummier. About the old brush I agreed with all the negative reviews on here-scratchy, shedded, the bristles splayed out kinda weird, shockingly small. This is the same size as the old one, but since Ive become used to and now prefer small kabukis like this-love it. It feels and looks pretty much exactly the same as my travel sized eco tools kabuki, which is my favourite everyday brush for loose powder. Anyway, nothing hugely special about this but I just felt like giving an updated review for anyone contemplating this brush since I noticed all the negative reviews are from 2012 or earlier. For a $5 kabuki brush its superb
zestyGnu8
very satisfied with the kabuki brush. my previous one was longer, you just have to get use to the small size. easy to use

I bought this just a few weeks ago and was so excited to use it. Washed it first and it was shedding crazy. I thought it would probably stop shedding once it has dried. Unfortunately when I used it, I had some brush bristles on my face, it has not stopped shedding. I find it a bit scratchy on my face also. I love Avon skincare products but this one I’m not loving at all. I’ll try to use it again, crossing fingers it will work fine next time. 🙂
sheepishTuna8
I bought this once, it got stolen, and I replaced it again. It was quite good for the price so I thought, why not?
This brush goes on my cheeks rather soothingly, but not as smoothly as my high end brushes. It does have a couple of fall outs but not too much. I mean, you do get what you pay for. But it’s not such a big deal and I love applying my blushes with it and my face powders. The bristles are packed together quite nicely and it makes it extremely voluptuous.
murkySalami2
I just received mine this morning, so naturally i pulled it out of the packaging & applied it with my mineral powder foundation.
I found it to be a little scratchy, but it did picked up powder well & applied evenly all over my face. I thought the stiffness of the bristles is excellent, only because i hate when they start to fray.
I was suprised there’s no lid, or cover of it of some sort. Not sure what i would expect to look like, but i expected a lid that wouldn’t cause the edge-bristles to spread out.
I don’t think i’d buy the product again, but i certainly do like it as it serves its purpose and was relatively cheap.
The packaging wasnt all that fancy, i was expecting a print of some sort or atleast the black glossy boxes that avon usually gives. Although, the product is what matters not the packaging.
crummyCamel0
This is one of the worst brushes I have ever bought. It is so rough, scratchy and way to small to provide god coverage. It can make even the best quality product look awful on your skin. I am an Avon rep and always tell my customers not to buy this brush. I have absolutely nothing good to say about it. Very, very disappointing.

I LOVE THIS! bought my first one years ago and its still in great condition its adorable black with mark in small pink letters
I love that this its so compact and sturdy and it fits perfectly into your purse and since its made of plastic it doesnt get nicked or chipped like some retractable brushes with a metallic finish
love love love this
I want to give this as a gift to all of my friends who wear makeup
fondMallard2
I love this wonderful little kabuki brush. I have been looking for a decent (decent being the operative word) retractable brush to use with my blot powder for years – and I do mean years. Then one day out of frustration, I was talking to my best friend about this and she suggested I try this brush, so when Avon had a campaign with free shipping, I took the plunge and I am so glad I did.
This brush is super soft, dense, compact and oh so cute. I use this brush to apply highlighters, bronzers and blushes and it buffs them in to perfection. To date, I have not used this brush to apply my mineral foundation but I am sure if I did the results would be flawless and glowing.
I think I may order another mark Kabuki Brush for back up purposes when Avon has another campaign with a free shipping option. If you are in the market for good retractable brush and/or a kabuki brush, please do not overlook this little gem because this is a great brush.
grizzledWhiting4
This kabuki is the cutest little thing. The bristles are soft and condense and its retractable with a cover for only $6CAD. Only concern is the packaging. It looks pretty fragile like if I dropped it, the plastic would crack. I hope that doesn’t happen!
thrilledThrushe4
First off, I bought two of these right away because they were on sale. They are good kabuki brushes, maybe not the best face brushes I own, but since they are retractable, that makes them better. I’ve traveled already with one of these, and it’s such a blessing. I hate exposing my brushes in the bags, so it was definitely a plus.
Edit: I had an issue with one of my brushes going “bad”. After washing and air-drying, there was some weird, lingering smell I could not get rid of, and I had to throw it away. Took away two lippies for the waste.
Edit: I had the same issue with my second brush going “bad”. I don’t know, maybe the brush is not conducive to washing. It had this weird smell that I couldn’t get rid of, and had to throw this one away as well.
ashamedOil4
the price is right, but this is a small, scratchy brush. i wasn’t impressed with it and liked the big powder brush much better.
amazedThrushe6
OUCH! This hurt my face. One of the big things with Kabuki brushes is they are supposed to be SOFT. This is not a soft brush. I feel sorry for the people below me who reviewed this brush, if they think this is soft, they have been seriously deprived. Sure it only costs $15 vs. say $40 for PrettyPretty or Cat Cosmetics Kabuki brushes, but the saying “you get what you pay for” applies here. I have cheep, crappy brushes that cost $2 that are way better. Everyone should own a Kabuki brush, but not this one. I returned mine and will never buy again.
peskyBuzzard6
This is an awesome brush for applying my BE loose mineral foundation! Works great to get the application and sheer coverage I want. Wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to get it. AT $15, it is a deal!
empathicLion4
I have had my BE full-coverage kabuki brush for over a year and I’m not sure why I haven’t reviewed it yet, but unfortunately, I agree with all the bad reviews. It is scratchy and it sheds EVERYWHERE after you use it a while. It doesn’t even shed full hairs, just little pieces of hair all over your chest and neck. The only positive is that is does cover pretty well. That’s probably the only reason I haven’t replaced it yet.
soreGnu0
Brought this brush for a fuller coverage for the matte mineral foundation. Was great to begin with, thick and full to give the coverage. After a few weeks the bristles got rough and feels like I’m scratching my face when applying the mineral make up.
I also tried to use this with a powder and it made me looked caked and made my skin red!
Have no further use for it now and would not recommend to anyone.
obsessedDotterel7
This is a nice brush in some ways. It’s well made, sturdy, and I haven’t experienced any significant shedding. But I just can’t stand the way it feels. It doesn’t feel smooth on the skin at all. It feels rough and scratchy. I have had it for quite a few years, and I did use it sometimes when I was using Bare Minerals. I dug it out this week to try with some new pressed mineral foundation from Avon that I bought, and I remembered why it was tucked away-ouch. I think I will just throw it away. I got it as part of a kit, so I didn’t pay the full price for it.

Mark Kabuki Brush Retractable
I bought this brush because I wanted a little brush that would fit in my makeup bag & I could use to touch up my powder. When I saw that this one was retractable, I thought it would be perfect. And perfect it is. It is everything the Avon kabuki brush is not. I’ve had this brush for a year and it has held up beautifully through multiple washes. The bristles are densely packed. They are soft and so far no shedding. This little brush is a Holy Grail and it will always be in my bag. I would absolutely buy this again.
panickyCoati0
This brush is supercute and travel friendly, I don’t use blush or loose foundation, so I use this to sweep away any eye shadow fall out and it’s great, I have had this for quite a while, and it still does what it’s supposed to even after many washes it is still very soft. I highly recommend it I already have backups, at 5 bucks I couldn’t pass it up.
spiritedOryx7
I love how soft this brush is and it applies mineral makeup very well..without looking cakey..it actually blends it into the skin for a very natural flawless look. I also love that it has a little cover ..makes it great for throwing in my makeup to take with me!
worriedBustard0
This brush is horrible if you want to use it as an all over face brush. However, it works GREAT as a blush brush. It is soft enough and grabs color quite well.
dejectedTruffle6
have it and dont even use it…lol
bubblyBuzzard3
Well…this product is confusing for me. It’s slightly harsh on my skin but it hasn’t shed one hair so far & as for coverage and distribution is pretty good when used with mineral foundation.
I was expecting a better quality packaging.
