This fan brush is soft, works well for applying super pigmented blushes or a thin layer of highlighter but doesn’t keep its shape properly and doesn’t seem to be well made. Not useless to me, just average.

I don’t think Sephora sells this brush anymore, but I had to share my thoughts. I tried mine for contouring per a YT beauty guru, who made it look so easy. Followed her instructions, and there was nothing on my face. Tried again, nothing. Tried blush, nothing. It also doesn’t keep its shape. Useless.

I returned it. It came splayed with bent bristles, and although slightly thicker and stiffer than the three dollar ELF fan brush I got at target, it wasn’t worth 23 dollars more for a nonessential makeup brush.

PROS: Works great to dust away any mascara flakes after combing lashes. Very, very soft. I adore that it has a great cover that actually stays on too. Mine does not shed.
CONS: Not cheap.
ALTERNATES: ELF has an inexpensive fan brush that works fine for me.

This is my second makeup brush purchased from the Sephora brand, and it will definitely be my last. Both brushes (the first was a kabuki brush) have been disappointments. This past year I discovered the wonderful world of fan brushes, and although my Smashbox fan brush was certainly performing up to speed, I felt the need to fork over $24 for this new, metallic fuchsia brush being advertised by Sephora. (I think it was the metallic fuchsia part that got me – I love hot pink.)
Colorful handle aside, this is also a very soft brush made of goat-hair bristles. That is where my positive comments end. It does not pick up products very well (I have used it as I use my Smashbox fan brush: for applying powder products to the cheeks), and even worse it sheds like crazy. I used MAC brush cleaner to gently wash it, and a sizeable portion of the hair ended up in the bathroom sink. This occurs every time that I wash it. Needless to say, I am back to my beloved Smashbox brush (which at $18, is a far better investment).
