I like this product because you don’t have to touch the sponge, which makes it more hygienic to use. However, it could do with being a bit bigger, just because it takes a while to blend foundation into my skin

I have had this brush for a while and rarely use it because I only use it for blending out creme sculpting product or creme blush on my cheeks. Something I rarely do. The brush is awesome for that purpose. I clean it with soap and water and it cleans up nicely. I do not use it for applying foundation or concealer so I do not know how it works for that.

Let me just start out saying that I love Ecotools and I have owned many of their brushes and still use them every day! With that being said… I was slightly disappointed by this newer product so here are the deets:
PACKAGING: came in a basic, clear plastic container with a button to open it and if you wanted, you could store your brush inside after opening, but it won’t stand up on its own.
HANDLE/FERRULE: classic Ecotools bamboo handle, medium sized – not thick but definitely not small. Bronze/muted copper looking ferrule that is rounded. Not sure if the problems I will mention were due to the ferrule or the sponge applicator.
SPONGE APPLICATOR: very, very firm cream colored sponge applicator that is in a tear drop shape with one side tapered off sharply for a flat edge and the other side rounded. If you dampen the sponge, nothing will happen – the sponge will stay the same size and apply product the same way and will not soften any. As far as “pouncing” the sponge, the way you would use a Beauty Blender, this doesn’t work in the same fashion. There is very little give to the sponge and it really doesn’t feel very pleasant at all.
The problem I encountered with this product was having the sponge fall apart after about 6 months use. The sponge is so firm that you have to press sort of hard to get it to conform to the space under your eyes, and I think that was the downfall of the product. The sponge started ripping right at the top of the ferrule and so far has ripped about 75% of the way across. I was not rough with it, and stored it upright, and it still basically fell apart. I feel like if the sponge was softer and required less pushing, this wouldn’t have happened. I don’t think I will buy another one, which is sad since the contoured shape of the sponge is seriously perfect for dark circles and around the nose.
COVERAGE: If you can get this to work for you, it works best with a creamy concealer and it gives medium/high coverage, but it is a little hard to blend out with just the sponge alone. I wouldn’t suggest this for foundation.
