THIS.
this has officially replaced F80 as my favorite foundation brush.
think of it as a better F80, the fact that it’s slanted allows you to reach difficult parts of your face such as the corners of your mouth, under the eyes, etc.
overall i think it’s really good quality. just like most brushes from SIGMA

If for some reason I could use only one makeup brush, this would be it. I love the easy, even application, the velvety softness, and the durability. The angle makes a huge difference for me in creating “airbrushed” look vs. “painted” look. I love this with cream and liquid, but it works for powder as well! It’s a stellar tool overall. I have the Sigmax Kabuki Kit and each brush in the kit is a favorite. The quality and performance are outstanding.

This is my first sigma brush and first investment in a “high end” brush. I used to buy cheap brushes (all elf brushes – especially the powder brush which i have 3-4 and i regret now LOL) for foundation application. I wanted to get the f80 at first but i got this f88 instead because of the slant angle it had, making it better for application at the temples and undereye/nose concealing / foundation area.
That said, i NEVER regret spending $25 on this brush. It was sooooo soft and seriously elf powder brush cant even be compared to this imo in terms of density. This brush is amazing. This buffs in foundation within seconds, whether thin runny foundations aka loreal magic nude liquid powder or maybelline dream wonder, or medium foundations – maybelline matte and poreless, and even thick foundations – elf acne fighting foundation. This brush works GREAT with all types and gives me such an airbrushed flawless finish i didnt get with any other applicator. This does not soak up much of the foundation, but i cant vouch for that because i do dot my foundation on my face before buffing it out. To buff, i use it in a swipping motion more often then in circular motions, just because of how it is angled. Even so, it blends like a dream!
I love this so much and i have already purchased the 5 piece kabuki kit @$72 (there was a 20% discount), which makes it $14.40 for a brush what a deal!!! Now i have more f88s yay hahahha.
Anyway, if u are wondering to buy sigma or just ebay $10 for 10 piece brush set, just invest in the sigma ones. They will last u much longer and will not eat ur foundation. This is from a person who has bought one and sold it away because the quality was so flimsy and inconsistent. 🙂 Hope my review helped! NOW GO BUY A BRUSH. LOL

The only other kinds of brushes I have used are flat foundation brushes. In comparison to those, this brush is a miracle. The shape is perfect. It used to take me forever to apply liquid foundation and now it takes me only a couple minutes. My foundation gives me better coverage and looks more natural. The price is worth it. I’m not a makeup expert at all, so I don’t know how it compares to other brushes, but I have no complaints.

This is my absolute favorite brush! Perfect for the area around the nose and under my eyes. I am using it with liquid foundation/concealer and of course it is ideal for cream blushes too!
I buy it again and again!

I just received my F88 Flat Angled Kabuki, and was excited to try it. I must say it is a really good brush, but I prefer the F80 Flat Top Kabuki. I noticed something about it, and after using it a couple of times, decided it was not quite as soft and dense as the F80. I looked at the handle, and low and behold, it said Made in China. I looked at the F80 handle, and it said, USA. I guess all good things eventually go to China to be made. Like I said initially, it’s a good brush, but to me, the bristles are not as soft. The price was very good, but probably would not repurchase.

I love this brush when I first got it. Works great to blend in foundation around the nose area. It has very soft bristles and is of high quality. BUT…
I had so much gunk left after thoroughly cleaning it with makeup cleaner and it smelled so bad because the shorter bristles are so dense that it doesn’t completely dry properly. UGH!! I’ve tried removing the gunk with oil cleanser to emulsify the foundation gunk and then using the antibacterial Sephora makeup brush cleanser and still…it smells after thorough drying. I think I will try dipping the bristles into alcohol and see if that kills off the bacteria smell and help it dry quicker. My makeup artist friend does that will all her brushes after each client.

$16 on the Sigma site – I put that as a 2 lippie because there are cheaper brushes out there but compared to MAC or Bobbi Brown or NARS brushes, $16 is nothing.
I am a huge fan of Sigma’s Sigmax brushes, in fact, they are the only ones I use for fdtn regularly. I also own the original Prescriptives paddle brush (which has lasted me literally for 12 yrs) and am waiting on my Real Techniques order.
Firstly, the entire Sigmax range is fantastic. I have the F80 and the F82, and they have lasted me about 3-4 yrs and still going strong.
The hairs are synthetic which is perfect for fdtn as the bristles do not soak up fdtn. This makes them easier to clean, and you don’t waste product. The bristles stay soft and easily reshaped after cleaning.
The handle is heavy and easy to hold. The shine has slightly come off mine but the name of the brush is still on. The handle is the right length so that it is easy to store.
Now on to the F88 specifically. Because it is flat, you can stipple with it. Because it is angled, you can swipe/blend with it. The sharp angle makes it easy to get product under the eyes and around the nose, you can blend out under eye concealer easily. It doesn’t buff as well as the F80 due to the angle. But it is more comfortable to hold than the F80 due to the angle, so you can sorta hold it like a pen, and your wrist will be at a comfortable angle.
The F80 is still my 1st favourite, and I reach for that most often. But this one is my 2nd fave and a really great brush for a cheap price which will last ages.
More about me:
Asian normal skin – tending towards combination in summer
Was acne-prone for years
Foundation preference is to look as yellow as possible, absolutely nil pink
MAC NC-30, Shiseido O60, BeneFit Champagne, Bobbi Brown #4, MUFE Sand/Desert
Sunscreen everyday – alternating between Sofina and Invisible Zinc
Edit: I don’t reach for this often as the F80 just works so well. I also love the RT expert face brush and those two are my HG brushes.
