This is a great brush, but I find it too big for my eye area. However, I use it as a face contour brush, and it works great. It’s nice and soft but I am still able to control it.

I love this brush! 2 swipes and I’m done with my base color.
When I first saw the brush at the counter, I wondered aloud at how one would use the brush (because in my head it looked like a craft stenciling brush, so I imagined that people would be applying the shadow in a stamping motion with the flat part of the head of the brush)
THANKFULLY, the SA demonstrated the correct way (by sweeping the side of the brush into the product and then doing the same on the eye) and it’s been easy peasy ever since. It’s true, I don’t use it for anything other than the sweep of flesh/shell/bone to start off my shadow process but I’m glad I have it.

This is my second fave brush after MAC 187/188. I use it daily, with colors like Bone, or other base colors, it creates a great canvas to work on. I use it both on eyelids and under eyes.

Every time a makeup artist applied eye makeup at a BB counter, they always used this brush to apply the base eye shadow (Bone, Ivory Navajo, White), and they did it in a couple of swipes. I’ve always wanted this brush, but I would’ve still been saving my pennies if a brush set hadn’t been offered at a great price for Nordstrom’s Anniversary. To my delight…this brush was in the set. Now I use this every day. Even when I wear the Long Wear Cream Eye Shadow using a powder shadow somehow helps with the application. If I’m wearing only powder eye shadow, I apply a light shade from lash line to brow before adding darker shades. I’ve always used an eye base (a cream to powder type), but with this brush…I can sometimes get away with using just the powder eye shadow.
The brush is soft and beautifully balanced. It holds and deposits a lot of color, saves me time in the morning and makes me look a lot better. To be honest…the same effect can be done with just a regular eye shadow brush. This just makes it so much easier.

I got this brush as part of a set, and though the rest of the brushes are holding up nicely, this is the worst!! It SHEDS EVERYWHERE, on my face and my clothes. Every time I thought it was done shedding, more bristles have come loose. It may be my misfortune, but I felt the need to express my angst for this brush.

This brush is just brilliant for applying base shadow over the entire lid. It is NOT for putting on highlighting or colouring products; you will be disappointed if you expect it to do so. Dark powder eyeshadows need a smooth base to blend well so you need a powder eyeshadow underneath, which this brush is made for. It deposits a sheer but even, smooth veil of powder on your lids preparing them for colour. I use it with my Bone eyeshadow, or whatever is the lightest colour used as an all-over colour in any e/s quad before I apply colour on my lids.

I bought the Bobbi Brown Brush set (Full professional size) and this came with the set. I would not buy this brush alone knowing what I do now. It’s very hard and is not possible to sweep on shadow without it feeling rough on the skin. When you do it swipes off the shadow so you get a very sheer effect. I’ve washed it multiple times and conditioned it and it still is quite harsh. I will try to use it as a contour brush or even as a shader brush (under the brow). I’m trying to think of other ways to use it.

i got this online for a fraction of the price in the full size. i was really disappointed with it – i used it primarily for highlighting the brow brone and it just doesn’t pick up too much pigment. it distributes the colour evenly but very thinly, till i can barely see anything. it’s hardly useful and i almost never use it. i use the mac 213 and benefit eyeshadow brush to distribute eyeshadow over the whole lid and they both do a much better job.

I’m writing a review for the Bobbi Brown Mini Eye Shader Brush (which is less than 4 inches long, purchased at MYR55 (at conversion rate of 3.43, that’s USD16) – the head of the brush is very big and square but it’s very useful as I could neatly apply the base eye shadow on the entire eyelid in just a few strokes. This saves me a lot of time – before this I was using my finger! I bought this together with the Banana Eye Shadow and will continue to buy this brush again if I lose it. The only complaint I have is that this mini brush doesn’t come with a plastic slide that full-size Bobbi Brown brushes have to protect the bristles and the packaging was just the brush in a cheap-looking thin plastic wrap.

I like the soft bristels, but the flat shape of the top makes it very difficult to get the corners of my eyes & blend well. I’d prefer a rounded head.
