This is for the powder brush (100).
This was the only brush from the Bold Metals collection that interested me. I have the F30 by Sigma (good brush), the powder brush by the regular Real Techniques line (orange color, can be bought separately) and that’s it.
This one is so different from them.
First of all, it looks like it costs alot more than you would expect if you didn’t know the brand or the price. The bristles are white which I like because I can see if any product (foundation, concealer) made its way from my face to this brush while setting/powdering/blending.
Second, the bristles are sooo soft. Softer than my other two powder brushes. Powdering is now a welcomed step, thanks to this baby. I am careful while using this brush which is also a plus since my foundation/concealer don’t move/end up on the brush (they do when I Sigma F30 and RT Powder Brush). That’s because I want to feel the soft bristles. I don’t know how else I could explain how this changed the way I applied powder products.
The results are always stunning: Less powdery, not cakey. And let me tell you this is the first time my makeup actually looks not powdery/caked. And I not only tried the other two mentioned powder brushes, but also RT Expert Face Brush, Stippling Brush, Buffing Brush, Lamora Flat Kabuki/Tapered Kabuki Brush.
Thank God I was so impressed by the design that I bought a backup in case RT decides to discontinue or change this fabulous brush (though at this time I didn’t tested the brush yet). It’s my HG powder brush and I never could said that about any of my previous powder brushes.

I have been seeing these brushes (literally) on a daily basis on my IG feed. And finally, I figured why not see what the hype was about. I love the brand’s original line, but since these were almost twice the price, I had my doubts.
I own 103, 200, 300 and all of them are amazing. First of all, the handle is not metal (it is plastic) so they are not too heavy to hold and give you enough precision. Secondly, the bristles are incredibly well made and are truly soft. They almost feel like real hair. You can look at every single brush I have, as well as read more about individual designs, in a separate review here ( I find that it takes me literally no time to wash these, just use any delicate liquid soap/shampoo you have nearby and they will do the trick. Highly recommend these.

The blush brush 300 is absolutely beautiful but the bristles are so soft and thin that it removes your powdered foundation/base while you’re trying to get the blush on. The brush itself struggles immensely to blend. This brush requires a patting motion rather than a blending motion which defeats the purpose in my case – I gather it would work splendidly for cream and liquid products. Given the price, I wish it was more versatile. Perhaps that’s why the lady in the demo video already had heavy blush on before actually doing the demo with powdered blush.

I am reviewing 3 brushes 103 ANGLED POWDER, 200 OVAL SHADOW, 300 TAPERED BLUSH from the “Bold Metals Collection 3 Piece Brush Set”
Well they are beautiful and follow the current metallic trend. But, I didn’t end up liking any of the brushes. For a start they are fingerprint magnets – just take them out of the packet and touch them once and the whole stem looks greasy and dirty. (I had the same issue with the Zoeva Rose Golden V3 collection). I’m not one of the people who enjoyed the heavy feel. I found them poorly balanced and tiring to use. I did not find they are new fibre RT developed “pickup and release powder evenly” as the advert said, actually the opposite. I got a patchy result.
103 Angled Powder was too dense for me, it applied too much powder yet was not dense enough for mineral makeup. I don’t think the angle shape helped. This one felt soft but had a few scratchy hairs. Also had alot of hair fallout every time I used it. I brought my set from Iherb for only $38 or so so I was wondering was mine seconds or was it just poor quality control RT is not managing.
200 Shadow I didn’t find it useful as a lay down brush as it was too large and deposited shadow outside my eye area. Too loose and fluffy to pack on pigments. Too dense as a blender as it just shifted the product around and made it look muddy patchy.
300 Tapered Blush applied blush too patchy and didn’t blend well. It was also a weird unbalanced shape with a bunch of longer hairs sticking out of one side that I had to cut with scissors.
I think these look stunning and have a high price to match, but performance wise they work poorly for me. Passed them on.

I LOVE these brushes. Usually I use a multitude of brushes (including the RT Sam’s picks, the NARS Ita, and some Sigma brushes) and I don’t think I’ve ever used such good brushes.
103 is the PERFECT powder brush for me. It’s amazing for an allover powder application, a bronzing application, or even brushing away your bake. I use it for allover powder and brushing away bake. It really gives you an airbrush finish.
200 is pretty good. It’s amazing with blending but I find that’s my only use for it, as I prefer flat brushes for packing on powder.
300 is very nice for highlighter. I personally think the blush application is far too “precise”, and I like a wider application for blush, but if you like a more precise, thin line of blush, this one would be good for you. I use it for highlighter and find that the size works very well for that, the taper gives you a natural cheekbone glow in all the right areas.
The most amazing thing about these brushes in my opinion is that they are SO soft, but still so dense! Usually soft makeup brushes are soft because they aren’t very dense, but these brushes tick both boxes and I LOVE that.
They shed very little, even though I was them every week. I think I’ve seen maybe three hairs total?
And of course, they look beautiful. They’re also balanced so well, the 200 is a little das on the her henta, but other than that they have an almost perfect balance.
I would recommend these to anybody who is looking for a more high end feeling brush but wants to stick to a well known drugstore brad.

Purchased from Target.com for $50 and love every brush. I was my brushes weekly and have NO shedding. The bristles have stayed soft and the shape remained. I liked the so much bought my Mom a set from Ebay to see if authentic since RT is made in China. They were same UPC code,packaging and quality for about $10. If I lost would buy from Ebay trusted seller and not Target.The tappered blush I don’t use as much since I have a Nars Ita brush and MAC blush brush(domed shape) I prefer. Love the high quality look of the handles. The eye shadow brush picks up much product. I have a small area between my brow and eyelid and the shadow brush is not too big for me. Prefer it over my Mac eye shadow brush. These are the 1st brushes I have owned that are not MAC or Chikuhodo. I tend to stay away from “cheap” brushes.A great brush is a basis for flawless make up application.

I bought the large powder brush (#100 I believe.) I absolutely LOVE this brush. So multi-usable. I used this for liquid foundation today after seeing Tanya Burr use it on yt and my foundation looked so airbrushed!! It blended it onto my skin so beautifully without streaking. These brushes are SO soft, softer than the original rt brushes. I’m definitely buying an extra #100 and more from the bold metals collection when they go on sale at ulta. I believe this would apply bronzer beautifully as well. These brushes are a bit pricey but def worth it!!!

I have the angled liner brush and the domed contour eyeshadow brush. So starting with:
Angled Liner Brush:
– Always applies a sleek thin line
– Love using this on my waterline
– Never loses any bristles!
Domes Brush:
– Excellent for blending darker eyeshadows, however this is a versatlie brush and can be used to deposit colour over smaller areas.
– Again, I’ve never lost any bristles!

Beautiful brushes! I own the powder, blush and oval shadow brush from this collection and bristles are incredibly soft! I didn’t think it was possible for RT brushes to become any softer! The quality is very good, I’ve never experience these brushes shredding on me (or any RT brushes), the downside of these brushes are the handles, although they are gorgeous; they can dent easily so you have to be careful with these brushes, also they are more like display brushes and not travel brushes because these have a little more weight to them. Overall, they are beautiful, high quality brushes despite them being fragile, I still adore them and I will be purchasing the rest of the collection.
