I have silly eyebrows. They are really only half-eyebrows. I have the first half but then the tail just…isn’t there.
I use this brush to shade my eyebrows where there is hair, the main body of the brow. It’s stiff and dense so it distributes product well. You’ll want the water badger version; the horse hair and blend versions are not as stiff. I’ve seen them called ‘floppy’.
However, this brush is not great for drawing on super thin individual hair. These little flicks, thin as the edge of a sword, that look like actual eyebrow hair. No. The best brush for that that I have found is the Hakuhodo J521. It’s a tiny little flat eyeliner brush. Now that is a thin brush. It’s beautiful. After only a little bit of practice I have the best fake eyebrows I could want.
I use this brush, and the J521 with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrows in three shades because I’m almost a perfectionist. They’re the perfect combo.

I had been looking for a Hakuhodo upgrade for my Sephora Professionelle angled eyeliner brush for some time but hadn’t been able to find anything with similar dimensions, until I decided to give the eyebrow brushes a chance.
I got my B163 in water badger hair (there’s also a horse hair option available) as I was sick of my last eyeliner brush hairs splaying. At 4.8mm at its longest hair length, it’s a bit shorter than what I’d been used to, but proves to be a must-have tool for my waterline.
I did worry that the stiff hair might hurt my eyes, but it only use it with the super-smooth Nars Eye Paints: am not sure I would use it on my waterline with firmer products though. The brush is great for precision, and I’ve been able to draw incredibly thin lines. At US$24, this was money well spent.
