I was looking for a dense round top kabuki brush to apply liquid foundation when I came across this brush. I found it online and read that it was very small which wasn’t a problem with me. When I actually saw it at Ulta, it was still smaller than I had imagined it. That said, this brush fits comfortably in my hand and I feel like I have more control over buffing with the short handle. I used this brush to apply Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation and it worked beautifully; the effect was truly like an airbrush finish. The feeling on the skin was similar to using a very soft sponge without the wiping and smearing that a sponge can sometimes cause. I did attempt to use it for my Mac studio fix powder but I believe it probably works better with smoother mineral foundations. All in all an excellent brush! This is the most expensive brush I own (at $26) but it is well worth it and I would recommend it to anyone for liquid or mineral foundations.

I initially posted this review under the Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush and it’s easy to see, from how similar the names are, why I made this mistake. I’m reposting that review here, under the new category with the somewhat different (but correct, according to the packaging) name!
I bought this brush when I bought the Tarte Airbrush powder foundation. I don’t know that this brush is absolutely necessary to get good results from the foundation but I am glad I did purchase it just because I sort of felt that to get the best results, it would be nice to have the brush that was developed to go along with the foundation. I like the short, stubby handle and the fact that the brush head fits perfectly into the mesh recess of the foundation container. The brush is soft but dense and does a great job of applying and buffing the foundation powder into the skin for a natural finish. I do wish this came with some sort of little protective pouch for keeping it clean if you toss it into your purse or travel bag but a Zip Loc type snack or sandwich bag, while not looking terribly elegant, does the trick for keeping it clean.
