Best brush I have for applying or blending cream shadows or primers on the eye lids. You can also pack powder eye shadow on with this one. It’s pricey, but multi-functional and sooooo worth it. Still looking for a dupe, since Mac has decided to redo their brushes in all synthetic versions. If you come across an original one, grab it!

I’ve had 242 for a couple of months now and there’s not been a day I haven’t used it. Applies my Bobbi Brown corrector fantastically and doesn’t feel scratchy used on the delicate undereye area. I also use it to apply cream shadows and heavy duty spot concealer like LM Secret Camouflage. Should get more of these!

so we all know MAC brushes are expensive, which makes it imperative that they can actually be used for a good purpose. This is one of those brushes that I haven’t found a better or cheaper version of, which is why I gave it 5 lippies. I wouldn’t use it for blending or even straight application of shadow but it’s great to foil either loose pigments or shimmery shadows. I spray it on both sides with Fix+ and then use it to give my shadow a wet look. It is also good to apply lipstick and clear lipglass, if you dab your lips with it. Make sure to clean it for different uses, obviously. It has a wide variety of uses and I’ve had it for over 5 years without any decline in its performance so definitely worth the price tag.

This is the best brush I have ever used when it comes to applying pigments, intense foil and duochrome shadows, and cream shadows. This is also the only brush I have found works well to apply and blend out Colourpop shadows.
I am also a major fan of the size, this is smaller than the 252, and that’s a good thing. It’s not too big and not too small – its just right. It’s size makes this an excellent multitasking eye brush. While this isn’t the most affordable brush on the planet, it’s priced well IMO for what it does, overall quality, and longevity. I have had mine for upwards 3 yrs and it still works like new with zero shedding – so for $21 bux, it’s for sure priced fairly. To be totally honest I would probably pay a lot more for this if I had to.
If you are having blendability issues with pricey shadows and pigments, do yourself a solid and try this brush.

Ive had this brush for years, and only used it for cream shadows….but holy hell today I uses it to pack down powder and it applied the shadow opaquely without any fallout! So glad ive kept this brush.

I bought this specifically to apply Paint Pot shadow in Painterly for all over/base color. I am returning as the Paint Pot didn’t work for me (would be better on younger eyes) and I didn’t like the way the 242 applied my powder Blanc Type all over/brow bone shadow. It’s a little stiffer and didn’t lay down a very smooth shadow. It does work very well with the Paint Pot though so I’m giving it a 4.

I recently added this to my brush collection. I’ve only used it for powder eye shadow, and it works great! I love my Mac brushes. I just wish the numbers would stay on them. The quality brushes have made a huge difference in the application and final finish of my eye makeup. Such a worthy investment.

this brush is great for paint pots, cream eyeshadow. it’s not soft like some other mac brushes, I thought it was a concealer brush at first. I will keep using it even tough sometimes I have to.layer to get a good color. that’s not really a bad thing tough, because if you don’t want dramatic eyeshadow this can help you get a natural look but you can layer with this for a more intense look. overall, I think this brush is worth it.

I was looking for a good cream eyeshadow brush and i had the short LE from the Archie brush kit and wanted another one. It is way better then the short version and is perfect for cream eyeshadows!

I think this brush does better job than 239 for applying lid color it can also use for concealer too. Great brush
