This is a natural hair goat brush. I brought 3 of these and quality isn’t the best. After a few washes, they all lost their pointed shape and went wide and fluffy. This means they no longer function as a crease brush, more a blending transition shade brush which I didn’t need any more of. If you use dark shadows the hairs stain and never quite get clean again. One of the three brushes is super scratchy and pokes my eyes, the other two are ok. The hairs seem quite fragile, with alot of hairs breaking off on all three. For what you get I think they are over priced at Sephora where I got mine.

I loved this brush for about 6 months however after continuous washing the brush lost its shape and became really wide. It’s a great eyeshadow blending brush, but now it’s too wide for my liking. Now I use it for either highlight or to blend a transition shade which doesn’t need to be as neat.

If I’d have to pick eyeshadow brush I can’t do my eye makeup without, it would be this one. It blends eyeshadows beautifully (even mediocre ones), isn’t scratchy, one of three I own is 4 years old and still performs as new. Fantastic quality for a reasonable price. I highly recommend investing in Zoeva brush sets because they’re in my opinion one of the best on the market.

I LOVE this, I have 3 of them. Prefer it so much over the MAC 217 (which I don’t like at all and use to set my undereye concealer now 🙁 )
The price, the quality, the performance – YES!

I have the white goat one. I like it very much for blending even though it’s rather large and my eyes are rather small. It can be a little prickly but only if I’m really going for it with circular buffing motions. When I’m being more sedate, it’s soft enough. Not super soft but I think supersoft would not blend so well. I find it’s pricklier when it needs washing so I try to wash it weekly. Which I should do anyway as I use it nearly every day. I use savon de Marseille though I guess any soap would do and it comes up perfectly white again.
It does somewhat lose it’s tapered point in use but can be reshaped after washing and will hold that shape for a few days.
I like it so much I’m gonna get a back up.

i have both the dark goat-haired 228 and the white goat-haired version.
I would rate the old version 5 out of 5, but the newer version is a disappointment.
Its incredibly scratchy, and remained so even after washing and conditioning it. Even worse, the brush completely lost its shape and various bristles fell out after washing it (which has never happened before!) I got the newer version in a set, so that might be the reason why the quality is not as good, though of course that should never be an excuse!
The only dud Zoeva brush i’ve ever owned, and i’ve built up quite a collection! It looks beautiful, but I simply wont reach for it because of how scratchy it is.

I have the white goat hair version of this brush.
PRO’s:
– Deposits the eyeshadow very nicely in the crease, very well blended out
– Picks up good amount of product, also when using more harder matte colours.
For these two aspect I gave it two ippies. Find out why I couldn’t give it a higher rating below.
CON’s:
– Very scratchy!!!! The black goat hair one must have been a totally other brush, concluding from the previous reviews… This one is literally painful to use. Such a shame.
Because of this reason, I completely resisted picking it up after using it 3 times. The look it gave was beautiful, much more blended out compared to my beloved mac 217, which generally gives a more rounded (less blended) look when using it for crease colors.

Quality brush at a fraction of the cost of some of the well known brands – although, Zoeva is becoming well known too.
Affordable is key when it comes to makeup brushes for me. What I like about the Zoeva brushes, is that they are affordable AND quality.
This 228 Crease brush is super soft, the hair/bristles are dark and the shape is perfect for my crease shape. I go to this one now before I go to my MAC crease brush even – its softer even though its a tad bigger than the MAC equal.
Also, I love the plastic pouches these brushes come in – individually wrapped & very professional. Thank you Zoeva.
Highly recommend.

This is a classic style crease brush from a company that produces great quality brushes while still being very affordable. This brush is a touch fluffier and larger than some others. I find that with the way the bristles are cut, the size, shape and density make for very easy application and blending. If you have smaller eyes this might not be your go to crease brush because it is a touch larger, but I think most people would find this a great addition to their collection. It has withstood countless washings with zero shedding, and does hold shape better than some of the other natural hair brushes in the Zoeva lineup. It’s very soft with just the right amount of give, absolutely no scratchiness. I’m very happy with this brush and would highly recommend it to someone looking for a quality version of this type of brush.

My favourite blending brush ever. Here’s why:
PROS:
– It’s made from dark goat’s hair, which is very soft.
– I only ever use this to blend out shadow, so I never actually put any product on the brush itself. It blends powder shadows beautifully and makes smokey eyes so much easier.
– The bristles are slightly tapered, which gives you more control.
– The bristles are dense enough to move product around a little bit, but fluffy enough, not to disturb the eyeshadow that has already been placed (if that makes any sense).
– It washes well, doesn’t bleed, doesn’t shed, doesn’t splay.
– It is very affordable (6,20 EUR) and comes in its own zip-lock bag for travelling.
CONS:
– The only negative thing I could think of is that the bristles of this brush are dark. I like to see how much product is on the brush and… ifI need to wash it yet *cough*.
VERDICT:
There’s nothing bad to say really about this blending brush: Love it – highly recommend it.
COMMENT:
For some reason, the handle on this brush is slimmer than that of the other eye brushes. I have no idea why and it doesn’t bother me, but I just thought I’d mention it 🙂
