Wayne Goss Brush #6 is a silkier alternative to MAC’s eye brushes. I own the popular white goat hair MAC 217 and 239 and they are excellent brushes, but the first time I used Goss #6 I was impressed. It feels much more luxurious.
Brush #6 is a plush, paddle-shaped eyeshadow brush with a pinched ferrule. For Wayne’s first set of brushes he chose blue squirrel hair, and then for the next set he transitioned to goat. (If you are opposed to animal hair brushes, Chantecaille’s Perfect Sweep Brush is a great shadow brush that is synthetic for $25.)
I bought Goss #6 from Beautylish for $25, so it’s the same price I paid for MAC 217. The edge of the head of #6 is good for contouring the socket, which I can’t do as well with the amorphous top of 217. The curved paddle is flat enough that it can be used the same way I use the short and flat MAC 239, to build up color on the mobile lid. But because the head of Goss #6 is longer than 239, it can double as a blending brush. Overall I find Goss #6 to be versatile and worth the money.
Wayne Goss brushes have black ferrules and matching black wooden handles. They’re well-made yet his prices are still reasonable.
For quick cleaning, I like to use a spray bottle of Parian Spirit. I spritz an eye brush with the clear, citrusy solvent and wipe it on a microfiber cloth. Powder shadows come off easily and the brush can be used again right away.

Soft brush but nothing extraordinary compared to Hakuhodo and similarly price brushes. My WG 06 is already splayed after a few uses and I haven’t even washed it yet. Probably won’t buy any more unless he comes out with something unique.

I am in love with this eyeshadow brush. It is uber soft and wonderful for both crease work and laying shadow over the lid. I have been watching the progress of the Goss brushes and waiting to make sure I wanted to fork out the $$ for them. This eye brush and the #13 face brush are what I have purchased to this point. I have based my purchases off of many you tube reviews by women whose opinions I have come to respect over time. Of the two the shadow brush is my favorite but the #13 is new to me and I am still learning how to work with it. His brushes are goat hair and extremely well made. Luxurious to use, I have none comparable to them.

This is a brush that I love and that I actually reach for when I do my eye makeup. It reminds me of a softer version of the 217. It blends to perfection,applies a decent amount of eyeshadow, ans is super nice to use. For the price, I definitely would buy the 06 over the 217.
I ordered another brush that I leave in my handbag for little touch-ups during the day (another advantage of small handled-brushes:).
