Youth-Dew is a lifelong affair for me… she and I have had a complicated relationship but in the end, I love her. (Which is exactly what a witchy, spicy, complicated beast of a vintage fragrance demands.)
The Body Creme is my favorite way to wear Youth-Dew (the bath oil is a close second). The creme format simply brings out the best in this glorious brew of cinnamon/clove/cola/rose/soap while bypassing the “funky,” pissy, indolic notes that gross me out.
For about $40, you will receive an absolutely colossal heavy glass jar with an imposing gold lid, filled with what is essentially solid perfume (the creme is heavily fragranced). The texture of the creme is luxurious and thick, but not greasy. I rub a dab onto each forearm and one onto my neck and that’s enough for me to smell FREAKING GREAT all day!
I cannot imagine actually using this as a full-body treatment every day, but if you are a real balls-to-the-wall Youth-Dew convert (and you’d really like an entire subway car to yourself), slather away!

I first found this scent as a teen and now in my 50’s am rediscovering it. Warm, rich, spicy. I only use this in the fall/winter because I think it’s too heavy for warmer weather but if you’re looking for a sophisticated scent and choose to be an individual rather then a fragrance lemming give this a try. I prefer the creme to the spray. I feel the bouquet releases softer and longer.

I had never heard of Youth Dew but found a jar at an estate sale. Innocent of the very strong reactions to the scent, I tried it and instantly got compliments: while I liked it at once as well, I’m more convinced if others respond positively, as I know only too well that one’s body chemistry is the final arbiter (rather than one’s nose). NOW what I wish I knew is whether this is a “vintage” bottle, as I’ve learned that EL altered the scent, and I was wondering why ‘vintage’ bottles of the stuff on ebay were so expensive! Now I know.
But for anyone who likes Chanel #5 (and it’s one of my all time go-to scents and always a positive reaction from others) which some reviewers equate with “old lady scents” (and some in a rather unkind way – let’s remember shall we that we should be so lucky as to all be old ladies some day!) I suspect this will be one for you as well.

I love Youth Dew but more importantly Youth Dew loves me and my body chemistry. I love everything about this body creme. I love the way it smells funky in the jar and transforms into spicy beauty once it sinks into my skin. It softens my skin with a spicy scent I love second to the cola spicy scent of the edp. I can never get enough of it. The jar is pure vintage luxury -at a reasonable price! Frosted glass with gold lid, it’s very femme just like the fragrance. Whenever I wear YD in any form all I get is compliments on how I smell from men, women, and children alike! The empty jar makes a perfect powder or trinket jar once the creme is gone. I usually end up giving it to a girlfriend who has been coveting it! I just purchased a new jar and plan to keep this one for myself when the creme is gone.
