Lush has a few reoccurring scents that I think are fantastic: Karma, Honey I washed the kids, Rose Jam.. As far as lotions goes, this might just trump them all. This lotion is a Kitchen Exclusive, and aside from the Rose Jam solid perfume it’s the best thing I’ve managed to nab from the Kitchen Exclusives! The scent is the same as (surprise, surprise) The Comforter Bubble Bar, which I’ve only smelled in store since I don’t have a bathtub, as well as the more recent The Comforter Shower cream, which I’ve yet to try. The only thing from the same scent family that I’ve tried from Lush before was their Sweetie Pie shower jelly, which has since been discontinued, and the Reindeer Rock soap, which has been a limited edition christmas product for the past few years.
I imagine that soaping yourself up with the shower cream would be very nice, but to have the scent linger on your skin for a long time from the lotion – that’s heavenly. I’m rubbish at describing scents, but there’s almost a tartness to the scent, mixed with sweetness. It’s almost a mouth-watering scent. Cassis and blackberry combined with the scent of sweet, red berries. It truly is a comforting scent, while at the same time being invigorating.
The lotion in itself isn’t too thick in consistency, yet pretty moisturizing. It takes a little bit to sink in, but I find it to be less greasy than some other Lush lotions. The moisturzing agents in this lotion is almond oil, cocoa butter and glycerine. The fact that the lotion is light pink somehow feels just right with a scent like this one.
+ Cruelty free
+ Vegan
+ A scent to die for – my guilty pleasure is to slather myself in this before bed, cocoon myself in my duvet and fall asleep breathing in this scent
+ My skin feels really soft and nourished after use
+ Coming from the kitchen, this is about as fresh as a lotion gets. It’s literally being shipped the day it is manufactured
+ Part of the return 5 empty pots, get a free face mask deal
– Limited edition is a sad, sad thing when you fall in love with the product. Luckily I’ve seen it twice in the kitchen just in the past 6 months, so with some luck I might get my hands on a new pot when I’ve run out
– Speaking of running out – I find myself going through Lush’s lotion at an alarming pace, considering the price. It might have a little bit to do with me over-indulging, though…
– Pot = not the most hygienic storage. I’m less bothered by that with a lotion than I am with a face moisturiser, though.
– Parabens
