Bath & Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Body Lotion isn’t one of my favorites even though it’s an original & I think it’s one of their classics. Its scent is described as “heirloom pumpkin, autumn cinnamon, & ginger snaps.” It is, well, something I expected to smell like a blend of pumpkin & pie spices. This doesn’t smell bad; this lacks the real pumpkin smell.
Top notes: heirloom pumpkin, crisp apple, fresh ginger.
Mid notes: ginger snap, autumn cinnamon, sheer jasmine.
Dry notes: spiced vanilla, golden amber, hint of rum.
So, with all that you’d imagine smelling apple, cranberry, cinnamon, clove, & pumpkin. No. It smells like fall spices… I like it enough though & would continue to wear it simply because it’s warm, rich, & perfect to wear during the fall. I love fall, Halloween, & Thanksgiving Scents (gingerbread, cinnamon, pumpkin, cranberry, apple, caramel, vanilla) but B&BW missed with this one.
The actual lotion is good quality, as B&BW lotions & body creams are. It’s moisturizing, but not overly thick, it goes into my skin/absorbs quickly, & it isn’t greasy. I love this lotion in the mornings right after I come out of the shower. My skin is nourished & moisturized well, & the scent is long-lasting on me. I recommend this if you like the fall, but not if you’re specifically looking for a true pumpkin scent.

I asked a friend to buy this for me. That means I was not able to smell it before buying it.
When I smell the lotion and the fragrance mist on the bottle, it smells good. It has a hint of cinnamon smell. But the scent that stays with you after you sprayed it or applied lotion on your skin, does not smell like cinnamon at all. It is a strong scent not suitable to those who are sensitive with fragrances. I was disappointed since I thought it smells like cinnamon when you spray it, but not.

First off, I’m not fond of cinnamon. But the main thing is, I feel that this scent is better suited for a candle or potpourri, not as a lotion or body spray.

I should admit upfront that I’m a bit strange when it comes to my scents: I draw a distinction between scents I would wear and fragrances I’d use to scent my home. For example, I’m a huge fan of BBW’s Leaves and every fall I just revel the candles, room spray, and wallflowers, but I can’t imagine wearing that as a scent.
I’ve always felt the same about sweet cinnamon pumpkin – a great fragrance for the home, but not something I ever considered wearable. (I always thought, who wants to smell like a pie?) Well I bought a cute Halloween pumpkin with anti-bacterial soap in this scent, and curiously I couldn’t stop sniffing my hands after I’d washed with it. So I cautiously bought a small bottle of the lotion, certain I’d probably find it too cloying as a perfume. But wow – it really does translate beautifully! It’s a bit spicy with a faintly sensual musk, but there’s also an undeniable warmth about it. Most surprising of all (at least to me) was the fact that it’s not at all overpowering. I’ve only got the lotion, but I think one would have to work hard to overdo it on this fragrance (unlike experiences I’ve had with Twilight Woods, which I so wanted to like but ultimately found far too obtrusive).
Bottom line: Love this as a casual fall scent!

What a wonderful scent for fall!
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin doesn’t really smell like pumpkin, but it does smell fruity, spicy, and delicious – like a beautiful October day!
This is not a sophisicated scent, but that’s fine with me.
Used with the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin shower gel, this is perfect!
Because I’m cheap. I resisted buying the fragrance mist, instead using an Avon vanilla spray I’ve had forever; it coordinates beautifully.
I love Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, and would gladly buy it again.

Bath&BodyWorks’ Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is one of the “Fall Tradition” scents that Bath&BodyWorks offers every autumn. This scent is widely popular. Bath&BodyWorks describes this scent as a “cozy blend of freshly sliced pumpkin, crisp apple, and spiced vanilla”. Sounds great for anyone who likes warm gourmand scents. I initially wasn’t going to get this scent, but I liked it when I sampled it at the store. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is available in over 20 products, ranging from the typical body lotion, fine fragrance mist, and shower gel to candles and lip gloss. As usual, Bath&BodyWorks brags that their body lotion formula is the “perfect daily moisturizer” because its non-greasy and quick absorbing, plus it contains good stuff like vitamin e, jojoba oil, and shea butter. I bought my 3fl oz (88ml) travel size bottle on a 3/$10 deal for $3.33. The full 8fl oz sells for $11. Bath&BodyWorks is a cruelty free brand that makes all their products in the USA.
Like all Signature Collection Body Lotions, this mini version of Sweet Cinnamon comes in a clear, hourglass shaped recyclable plastic bottle. This lotion happens to be topped off with an orange pop up cap. The label is pretty and very seasonally appropriate. A metallic golden pumpkin sits amid a pile of colorful fall leaves that range from red to orange to purple. More leaves are falling against the orange background. The name of the scent is written in reflective gold lettering. The back label features the full list of ingredients and some company info.
First let me say that I think “Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin” is a misnomer. I originally didn’t want it because I absolutely despise pumpkin. The smell makes me feel ill and I can’t stand the taste. I changed my mind when I smelled it though. Here’s the list of the notes:
Top Notes: Fresh Pumpkin, Crisp Apples
Mid Notes: Fresh Ginger, Fruity Jasmine, Cinnamon Spice, Touch of Gingerbread
Dry Notes: Spiced Vanilla, Hint of Rum, Sandalwood, Amber
I think this scent should be called “Sweet Cinnamon Spice” or something because I pick up zero pumpkin. I get plenty of cinnamon with hints of ginger and a little bit of a crisp apple note. This scent is simple and warm, I definitely see why so many people enjoy it. This scent is pretty strong and lasts on the skin a good while, it permeates fabrics, my towels and stuffed Bunny smell like cinnamon and cuddliness for days after I use this lotion, it makes me really happy. This scent actually reminds me of this little craft store my aunt used to drag me to. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is a happy, warm scent that’s perfect for fall.
The lotion it’s self is Bath&BodyWorks standard. White, thin, quick absorbing, and non greasy. Nothing really special, not truly the perfect daily moisturizer, but it is pretty good, the formula is adequately moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling comfortable and silky.
Bath&BodyWorks’ Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is a fantastic fall scent. Its spicy and warm and it just makes me feel good. If you’re actually looking for a pumpkin scent though, skip this, there’s no pumpkin note at all, it’s practically just straight up cinnamon. The scent lasts wonderfully and sinks in to towels, clothes, and more. If Bath&BodyWorks offered a linen spray of this scent I would buy it so fast. I’d repurchase this scent next fall. I suggest taking a whiff of Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin while it’s still for sale, if you haven’t already stocked up on it.

I have heard that the formula and intensity of the scent has changed over the years. While, I can’t verify if that is 100% accurate since I have never tried it until now (sept.’12) I figured I would share that info for anyone reading reviews about this product.
Very disappointed in this. Where’s the pumpkin? This is simply a cinnamon-apple-spice scent. Description says there is a vanilla note in it as well but I don’t get that either.
I was really hoping this would either be like a pumpkin cupcake scent (the Slatkin candle is amazing!) or maybe a spiced pumpkin (yankee candle) but my nose detects no pumpkin in this whatsoever. I tried the body spray in store, didn’t smell like pumpkin either.
That being said, this is not bad, it does smell ok and evokes a fall feeling. Would be good for layering with a stronger scent. I can see myself using this after a nice warm shower with maybe a tiny dab of a perfume like Tabu, Opium or another oriental/woodsy/spice scent that I wear in the fall. Won’t repurchase.

I got this lotion at the Semi-Annual Sale for around $2.50! Although, I liked this more when I smelled this in-store. This is a spicy scent, that’s for sure. I can definitely smell the cinnamon in this. I feel like it overpowers the other scents that are in this lotion. I can smell a tiny bit of the pumpkin, and when it dries down, the spiciness of the cinnamon goes away. It smells sweet on my skin afterwards.

This smells amazing to me! I have this in the lotion, spray, everything. It also comes in a candle and wallflower and it, by far is the strongest smelling candle and wallflower I have ever purchased. It’s the best pumpkin scent they have EVER had at Bath and Body Works!

I know this fragrance has been out for several years, but this is the first year that I’ve really had the inkling to try it, which is odd because I’m a complete sucker for pumpkin scents. But anyway! I’m sort of 50/50 about it. It’s great to put on after a shower or to lounge around the house, but I don’t know, it’s just not a scent that I like wearing out or to work. It’s not overbearing or anything, but to me it just smells a little to soapy to use as a signature scent. It isn’t a bad product, but it doesn’t work for me, and I more than likely won’t be purchasing it next season.
