Someone I know who works at l’Oreal was coming into town, and he offered to score me some beauty booty at the company store where employees enjoy a 50% discount 🙂 this is one of the products I selected to try out.
First off, this cream makes me itchy when I first put it on. I’m not sure if it’s because I am using a retinol cream at night (Roc) and my skin is more sensitive? It is quite rich; I needed to swipe my face lightly with a facecloth to remove some of the shine before putting my makeup on.
My skin became incredibly soft and silky once my foundation was on. My makeup stayed put all day through 95% humidity, and my skin is nice and smooth. So far I do like it and it moisturizes dry skin quite well; I will decide if it’s a repurchase once I’ve finished the jar. The jury is still out on HG status, but it is definitely worth trying!
Update: I am now using this full-time instead of retinol cream and the itchiness is gone. Love the scent, and it makes my skin smoother than silk. Added a deserved lippie.

This product is so wonderful, it may just replace my long-time HG (Biotherm Aquasource for Dry Skin). I have oily skin, but I use a dry-skin cream around my eyes and mouth, which are prone to dryness and lines. This is much more emollient and richer than Aquasource, and it seems to have a much longer-lasting moisturizing and plumping effect. Better still – it’s totally non-irritating to the eye area. My eyes are sensitive to some creams, but this doesn’t make the area itch or my eyes water.
Maybe because I am getting older, but the skin under my eyes can sometimes seem dry and crepey at the end of a long day, but using this, it seems much fresher and moisturized. Love! Too bad it’s more expensive, but it’s great stuff. My eye concealer goes on fine underneath it as long as I pat the skin with a makeup sponge first. will definitely repurchase. Biotherm’s secret weapon is the Pure Thermal Plankton – an ingredient in my long-discontinued former HG. Wouldn’t rely on an eye cream without it.
4/16/2012 UPDATE: I’ve actually been preferring the Night (Nuit) version for the past couple of years now. It’s not as thick, but far from that being a drawback, I feel like it’s less oily but MORE plumping.
