Fairly nice lotion at a great price but it was just so so:( My main complaint is the smell…awful! It has the aroma of cheap suntan lotion:( I just do not understand why the creators of skin lotion think everybody wants to smell like fake coconuts! BLECH:( In addition to the sickening odor there is no discernable “shimmer”. I will finish the product but I won’t buy it again. The search resumes *sigh* 🙁

I was originally looking for the total effects body lotion, but I only saw this one. I buy it for the niacimade and glutamic acid ingredients as it helps fade scars and even out skin color. The store carries an ultra moisture version(heavy perfume scent, and fragrance free version. The shimmer one is more moisturizing than the fragrance free version. I read the ingredients and they are almost the same as the total effects lotion. I like the quench better because the smell is lighter less strong then the total effects one.
Pros: Almost the same ingredients as total effects body lotion
Both have niacimide and glutamic acid to even out skin and fade scars
More moisturizing than fragrance free version due to cocoa butter ingredient
The smell is a lot lighter than total effects body lotion
Cons: The shimmer can be a pro or a con

This is by far my favorite body lotion. The smell of this lotion is nice and pretty but not overwhelming. I’m not a huge fan of lotions with shimmer– however it’s very subtle so it is not a big deal. Olay has the same lotion without shimmer but it has a different scent (a baby powderish scent that I don’t care much for).
I only really apply this lotion to my legs after I shower and wow does this stuff leave your skin baby soft after a few days use. For a while I switched over to Vaseline’s cocoa butter lotion (in a brown bottle) because it was cheaper, but it did not leave my skin as soft as this Olay lotion does. I noticed a huge difference when I just recently started using the Olay– baby soft legs again!
I highly recommend this lotion if you are looking for a lotion to apply to your legs after shaving/showering. If you are not a fan of any shimmer (though the one with is not super noticeable), I recommend the Olay lotion without shimmer. The only trade off is the scent.

Thought I would share my success with this lotion. 5th time buyer. Niacinamide is the 3rd ingredient. Fabulous for healthier skin and cheap at this price. If you are a gym bunny, it will make your face and body glow and over time, improve it too. Who doesn’t want to look better at the gym or on the go? I frequently pop a bit of it in to foundation. You need this in your life. Make sure you get the shimmer version- the others are a different formula.

This lotion is just okay, nothing great. It doesn’t make much difference to my skin, which is normal to dry. I’ve had lotions that have made my skin baby soft and supple, this does not do that for me. My skin feels more or less the same as it usually does without lotion. I also expected the shimmer to kind of give my skin a glow and it seems like there’s just little specks sitting on top of my skin, nothing special.

I’ve been using this lotion for years now and I’ve always loved it. I tried to switch over to my mom’s cocoa butter lotion, but I always felt like my skin was dying of thirst. I switched back to Olay and instantly felt the difference. I will never cheat on this lotion again.
For best results, I usually apply it after a shower while my skin is still warm, then wash my hands and take care of my face and teeth (I’ve discovered that cocoa butter was clogging up my pores big time, so I avoid using it on my face). My skin is radiant, soft, and supple; and I am very happy with this product.

I’m actually pleasantly surprised by the reformulation of this lotion. I used the quench before (back when there was just one, and it had added shimmer) and it felt like it just sat on top of my skin, didn’t moisturize, and smelled weird.
This stuff sinks into my skin quickly, smells floral (not too bad or too cloying, would appreciate a better fragrance, or better yet no fragrance at all.) and gives my skin a slight shimmer, which is nice for the day time. for some reason i want a shimmer lotion and this is the best bargain at the drugstore. the occlusive petrolatum doesn’t bother my KP, nor my eczema or sensitive, dry body skin, and the niacinamide and other ingredients help defend my skin from free radicals during the day (i use elta MD sunscreen on top for sun protection)
i usually apply this very last as opposed to right out of the shower ( after my skin routine–face– and after my hair) why? i dont want any shimmer on my face or hair, so by the time i want to apply my skin has already dried, so i take some rose water, spray my skin, then pat with a towel (its good to apply lotion to damp skin, it helps seal in the water) and apply this lotion to my arms and wherever i need it. then i thoroughly wash my hands to get the shimmer off my palms( some shimmer doesnt remain however) . the shimmer is almost undetectable inside, it really shows up in the sunlight outside, (twilight vampire?)
It has a few antioxidants(niacinamide is very high up on the list, a + and vitamin E , b5) and a lot of water binding agents, for really moisturize dry skin, and petrolatum to seal the moisture in
because the shimmer, application has to be tactful, or else you might end up with shimmer where you don’t want.
if you don’t want shimmer, olay makes a shimmer free lotion with the same ingredients just no mica(shimmer agent)
Update: the slightly tacky finish is unforgiving. I don’t like to “feel” a lotion on my skin, aveeno creamy oil and cerave lotion don’t give me this problem

Been using this for the past couple years and I love this lotion and the glittery look it give you!

so,after buying the jojoba crushed orchid and the shea butter ones,i had to buy the cocoa butter lotion as well! Being a person who loves:cocoa butter, shea butter smell,i had to buy thoses ones for the smell and the moisturizing effect as well.i have cocoa butter(vaseline) and shea butter(st ives). In comparaison of those two,i’d say that olay have a thinner formula but moisturize well!it leaves the skin soft and of course non-sticky. So,i really love the smell,it moisturize well,non-sticky,great for summer in hot days! Or any days you want!love it!

I am a lotion freak ~ I have a bottle in every room in my house. This product used to be called Olay Quench Deep Moisture Lotion. It’s been updated with a new look and a new name, but it still has the same mica shimmer.
I’ve been using this for a long time, and it’s my favorite lotion for my hands. It moisturizes, and it keeps my hands supple and soft. Remember, no matter how much plastic surgery you have, you can always tell someone’s age by their hands (there are fat injections for your hands if you are wealthy enough). It does have shimmer, but it’s minimal.
