This product was not terrible but I would never re-purchase or recommend. First, the cream is extremely thick. It’s hard to rub in, and it tends to stay on the outside of your skin. Second, it smells like the cream inside a lemon creme sandwich cookie (a lemon Oreo). A little bit fake and certainly creamy, but rather wimpy. Coupled with the thick cream feel, you feel as if you are moisturizing your hands with frosting. The packaging is less than ideal. The bottle would match better with a lighter, moister lotion. Because the lotion is so thick, and the lotion hole so fat, this lotion comes out like frosting out of a decorator’s sleeve, I would much prefer a thinner hole so you could squish out the product in a skinnier line to control how much comes out. It’s very hard to get toward the end of the tube. I would definitely alter the packaging shape to functionally match what’s inside. If you like lemon lotion, look to Avalon Organics lemon. I’ve returned to that 2x after trying other lotions. I think I’ll be sticking to that permanently.

I spent weeks ducking into every drugstore I passed to find a cruelty-free hand cream, and am really happy I took a chance on this one! It smells like a a delicious lemon dessert, as others have said, and does the job/is very moisturizing. I haven’t experienced the greasiness some others have mentioned, but mostly apply it to the backs of my hands. After a few hours the smell fades into a slight lemon-cleaning-product direction, but hey, it’s still lemon, right?!

Any foody lemon-scent lover must try this! I would use it for the scent alone, but the performance is excellent too. Super-moisturizing, great texture. Only con is that it leaves hands a tad greasy, but only for a couple of minutes. Works great on feet too.
The body lotion in this is great too, though not as richly moisturizing. There’s also an oil and hand soap. If they made a body wash and lip balm in this, I’d be all over it.
A bit expensive, but I’ve found that Target seems to have the best prices. Either way, so worth it!

This is a holy grail product for me. I love everything about it; the smell, price, packaging and moisturizer.
I can see how some people wouldn’t like the smell, it’s very distinct. It you don’t like the smell of lemon cake, then you won’t like the smell of this moisturizer. Simple as that. I’ve always told my husband, as stupid as this sounds, that I want a signature smell, something that my grandkids would always relate to me. Just like I relate the smell of Pond’s Cold Cream to my grandmother. This hand lotion will probably be that for me.
I have very dry hands and this lotion is quite effective. It moisturizes without making my hands greasy.
As an extra bonus, the packaging is beautiful. I love keeping a bottle on my desk at work.

This is the best hand cream I have ever tried. Very moisturizing and none sticky and omg it smells like lemon vanilla cake.
I have tried l’occitane, Kiehl’s, glysomed, bliss, body shop, clarins, pretty much all the drug store brands and etc… and THIS ONE BEATS THEM ALL. Too bad shoppers drug mart stopped carrying them in this scent. They only seem to carry the lavender kind now.

Smells like lemon muffins or lemon bread cake! The texture feels like shea butter and it’s really moisturizing but is oily on the skin.

This is one of my favorite scents. It’s so fresh smelling. And it’s a good lotion. I would highly recommend all J.R. Watkins products.

I’m mixed on this; I almost gave it 3 lippies for the fragrance alone, but then I remembered this is supposed to be a hand repair cream which I needed but didn’t get. I absolutely wanted this to work for me because I fell in love with the scent (reminded me of the lemon cream Girl Scout Cookies that I’m not sure they even make anymore). I even continued using it after realizing that it wasn’t effective just because it smelled so good and comforting. Then I came to the conclusion that my hands need more comfort than my nose right now.
EDIT: It’s several years later, and I don’t know if the formula has changed but it is working amazingly well!

Smells absolutely heavenly, in fact my dog tries to lick my hands whenever I put this on! : P I love the thick, creamy texture as well, and it works great on my dry, chapped hands. Will continue to buy.

Most delectible smell (think those HUGE lemon poppyseed muffins at Starbux), thick/creamy to spread, sinks in nicely into my hands, comes in a sleek tube, easy/cheap to find at Target, Walmart and Walgreens. Nicely moisturizing, but not as moisturizing as Burts Bees Aloe/Buttermilk body lotion (that I used as a hand lotion) or Weleda Sea Buckthorn Hand Creme, but more moisturizing than Yes To Carrots Body Lotion.

Will I re-purchase – most definitely. It is wonderful for the warmer months, but when my dry hands call out for more moisture in the colder winter months, I will use something else (hence I deducted 1 lippie).
