It’s a nice cream but definitely don’t think it’s “rich” I find it to be light since it absorbs so quickly and after a few minutes it doesn’t even feel like you put on hand cream, but hands do look moisturized. Effects aren’t long lasting and the tube is running out pretty quick even though I would only use a bit on my hands once or a day or so.

Something I stumbled across at Ulta searching for the infamous Lano Lanolips 101 ointment and other lip products. The plastic tube itself is a larger version of the ointment with a screw-on cap with 2.87 oz. / 85 ml. of product and packaged in an outer cardboard box. The website says it is offered in a 200 ml pump bottle which would make a nice bedside night-time moisturizer.
I am drawn in by words of rich, gentle, and nourishing, and recommendations of use for the face, body, hands, baby, even to mix with a foundation or use as an eye cream… Eye cream? This must be something special if I can use it around my eyes. I gladly paid the $16.95 usd and left without the 101 ointment (sold out) and skipped over lippies (I don’t know why).
First impressions are excellent – I washed my hands before leaving Ulta because I always go nuts swatching in there and tried the all-over cream on my hands. It immediately soaked in and left my hands feeling super soft with absolutely no greasy after-feel whatsoever. I am talking nothing, it completely absorbed. The ingredient listing says there is a naturally derived fragrance and I’m catching just a very faint smell of something pleasant.
Since the fragrance level is about 1 or 2 on a scale of 10, I decided to try it on my face that night. Again, completely absorbed, left my skin soft, and no reactions. I have yet to find anything that, on its own, is hydrating enough, so I layered my trusty CeraVe healing ointment over it. No breakouts, no bad reactions, my skin did well.
I have heard a lot about the benefits of lanolin, and feel this makes a nice and slightly luxurious cream product I can use all over without fear of adverse reaction. I took this with me on a minimalist weekend trip and used it for face, hands, and body, and plan to purchase a backup because it really is a nice lightweight but very moisturizing cream. About the only bad thing I can say about this is that the tube is difficult to stand up on anything but a hard surface because of the cap. Certainly not a deal breaker, but I’m a moisturizer junky and like being able to arrange all of my tubes and tubs on my bureau where I can see them and I have a table runner on it to protect the surface.
I have been using this (as recommended by Lano) to mix with my foundation and I have to admit it works excellent, even when applied over another moisturizer or sunscreen.
