This is probably the first Burt’s Bees product I’ve truly liked. I think it makes a nice cuticle cream, certainly much nicer than their actual cuticle cream. It’s the right texture and it’s very rich and moisturizing, has a good slip, and sinks in without too much trouble.
Unfortunately, as usual, Burt was incapable of letting a good thing be and he just had to ruin this with his infernal essential oils. This has such an overpowering fragrance of eucalyptus oil that I don’t feel safe using it around my cats. Why you gotta do me like this, Burt? And here I was thinking we were finally going to get along.

I’m trying to use some good ingredients in products, and this is as good as it gets for a hand treatment. But…it’s like Vaseline and smells of Sunday roast with olbas oil. The lid is impossible to get off with less than bone dry hands. Why not put a catch on, like on shoe polish tins? It does go melty, possibly leaky in the sunshine. Negatives aside, l’d been wanting to try this for ages. The tin does look cool and matches my cuticle butter nicely. It does work on my dry hands, but after a while my hands started to look crepey and feel stiff – not enough hydration. So l just use this once daily now in a rotation, often at night as it takes a while to sink in. If you’re in the UK, it’s stocked at Sainsbury’s now, and often with 20% off the range, which encouraged me to try it at only £8.

I do not like this product. It’s too greasy, the tin is annoying to use and it’s a no for me. Never buy again.

This is a heavy duty treatment, less a hand cream than a jelly-like ointment for very dry skin. I received a small tin in a gift set and keep it in my desk at to massage into my cuticles. It’s a repair product so it won’t add much moisture, but will seal it in. It’s more effective if your hands are slightly damp or freshly washed, or after you’ve used your regular hand cream..
It’s a little greasy to use as an everyday hand cream but as a healing treatment it’s very good applied generously overnight under cotton gloves.
A little goes a very long way with this hand salve. The smell is slightly medicinal but not unpleasant, and definitely not as strong as Kiehl’s salve.
I’d probably buy this in the full size because I’ve found it to be very good on my extremely dry cuticles.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS . Canada in the winter sucks the living life from you skin and the hands get the worst of it. This saves your hands and for me, it does absorb quickly, you just need to rub it I. And don’t use to much. Great for the nails and cuticles too. I get bad hangnails and this softens and soothes them. You get tons in the jar and I paid 14 bucks in Canada for it, so not to bad I see it lasting quite a while. Will definetly be repurchasing this , stalls like natural goodness

If you’re in the market to buy a hand salve that’s all natural, full of the fresh scent of herbs/plants like lavender and rosemary that you feel you just pounded with a mortar and pestle at that moment and effective then this is the product for you. The texture is just like other hand salves/balms like Bag Balm and Arden’s 8 hour balm – pure vaseline. It does NOT absorb easily and sits on top of your hands for a while but I feel like that’s what it’s supposed to do.
I use it as a cuticle softener and love it for that purpose the most.
I will use as a hand lotion but only if I know I’m not touching anything but my keyboard for a while (I would be afraid to touch a silk blouse or other item of clothing with these natural oils sitting right on top of my skin).
Do NOT buy this product if you are looking for a hand lotion that will easily absorb into your skin greaselessly. This is a salve which is always greasy feeling at first and takes a while to absorb.
I also don’t like the tin it comes in. I’ve had other products come in a tin but this one is more difficult than most to open and in the summer when the product is more moist, some of the oils can leak out of the tin into your purse.
Yes, I would buy this product but the product is going to last for a very long time.

i bought this thinking it’d work a miracle for my hands during winter. but… i am not impressed. don’t get me wrong- it’s not a horrible product! i like its thick texture, but i have tried better products. i don’t wake up in the morning with baby soft hands and i still see a bit of dry skin.

Don’t know what possessed me to try this, I guess maybe bc I had heard good things about Burt’s Bees in general in the past. So, I tried this, this past Winter, when my hands were particularly dry.
First off, the smell!! I just could not get past the smell!! It is marketed as ‘herbal’..I do not mind most herbs, but whatever herbs or herb scents they used in this (sorry it is gone as I type this review), it strongly disagreed with my nose.
Second, it did nothing to help my dry hands. They were not horribly dry (not chapped or anything, just dry). Maybe it was too intense for what I needed..? *shrug*
Finally, the container. I get they are maybe going for old-fashioned appeal/looks, but to me, I do not want to dig my fingers into a little jar (getting the product under my nails no matter how careful I am, ick!), I prefer a tube or something similar. I realize this is very thick (wax-like) but I just do not care for the container. I know that is just personal preference though, and really bears no merit on the rating.
I could overlook the smell and the container if the product worked.
However, this is one of those products that for whatever reason, actually made my hand more dry and even a little cracked after using. No bueno.
Will not re-purchase and would not recommend.
It must work for some, bc this has been around for ages. Just did not work for me.

I don’t think I’ve ever loved anything more than I love this. It works great for dry skin and it even made my cuticles look amazing. I don’t think it was too greasy, either. I thought it actually soaked in pretty fast and I love how soft my skin feels after. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the smell when I first bought it, but I’m so used to it now that I actually really like it. Such a great product

Love this! Great for cuticles, hands, feet, and the super-weird dry patches I’ve had on my ankles since I was a kid.
I don’t have a problem with the tin at all, and the moisture does last. I think people who have problems with greasiness are applying too much. I apply less than a dime sized amount over my hands, and it soaks in within 10 minutes and provides long-lasting moisture. I use it on my cuticles, too, but apply it more thickly and let it soak in.
If the oil is still too much for you, I’d look for the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. I love that stuff, too!
