UPDATE Dec 2019: saaaaad faaaace discontinued In Lebanon noooo and it was so affordable :'( apparently it was the lightest dose of Benzo around here.
I had bought it Feb 2019 now it’s Dec 2019 , it’s still a bit full , at least a third of it is still in it,and I just realized it had expired last month. [dunno production date it did not say, could be a retailer’s fault] so almost 30g out of 40g lasted me 11 months.not bad but for some reason that feels like it’s fast lol..most products I have last years. [end of update]
pharmacist recommended it to me. I have combination skin with some sensitivity, oily mostly in tzone , especially on my nose with blackheads/whiteheads. [update: after using it my skin has improved so much, now I get “you have no acne ” comments awesome 😀 ]
it’s very affordable : 3$ for 40g . lasts a good while, controls oils very well, balances my oily area, I have had markedly less acne since I got it, my skin calmed down [because I wasn’t using anything for it before then , now I use it after moisturizer as spot treatment and sometimes to reduce oils] took a while to know how to use it exactly though, because I didn’t feel it could be mixed with other products. [tried mixing it with nivea soft moisturizer, it worked well a bit but then itched like hell , nope 😛 ]
it has two very big cons :
1-the packaging: it’s a tube with roll on cap, it needed a flip cap would have been much easier, quicker and better. also, I don’t like having to squeeze the tube and too much or too little coming out [though at first it was fine but now that half of it is gone it’s getting messy and annoying] a nozzle sort of end would have solved that issue or having it in a pot or something. though one upside of this packaging is that if you squeeze too much , you can put back some of the extra that came out.
2- you need to be very careful with how much you use. and it won’t remove the acne quickly. also don’t use in conjunction with other mattifying products [or you get dry patches and flakiness] I think it would be too strong for dry skin and even for combo skin, definitely not any really sensitive skin.
so I put it on the acne, and it helps settling it down some, or the acne produces a head which I remove in a sterile way or I apply a bit more ,depends on the head and size of the acne, but the issue is that the more you apply , the skin will become flaky around the acne. not only that, but a dark or red pigmentation will occur right after application. so you will need another treatment for hyper pigmentation caused by the spot treatment. [which I will get at some point, though after a few weeks I noticed the spots reduce a bit, some disappeared, maybe with exfoliation and vitamin e (which is in my moisturizer, ) ]
I hope my review makes sense. I think the product starts out great but after a while, it gets difficult to work with. it’s what I noticed because the first few months I had it , it didn’t flake this much.
I use it sometimes during the day, but it’s best used at night as spot treatment, and the later the better, just before sleep. some acne disappeared this way. overall, I still think my skin likes it, whenever I apply a thin layer of it on my tzone , it works like charm. if you get it and after a while get flakiness , use a strong thick moisturizer on the clean flaky area, I’ve tried L’oreal age perfect night or day cream and it works well for that.
