After suffering through 1/3 of the bottle, I feel I cannot continue to use this lotion. After I get out of the shower in the morning my skin is still a bit damp because I seem to always be in a hurry, I just don’t have time for this lotion to soak in. It gets on my clothing. I may as well be trying to lotion up with latex house paint, and with the added insult of not really moisturizing in any spectacular manner!
As the years go by, I turn to more and more ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ products and try to reduce the amount of chemicals in my daily routine, I still like the Nature’s Gate brand above many other brands. I use their herbal hair conditioner almost exclusively. I also like the hemp lotion despite its odd scent, it does work as a moisturizing lotion. I did buy the fragrance-free lotion because the store I was in at the time had no hemp lotion on the shelf, I will not make that mistake again.

This lotion is not great. Hard to rub in and doesn’t really moisturize well.

There is a new version of this (with different ingredients) on the Nature’s Gate website, but this version can still be found. This review is for the all white bottle with Safflower Seed Oil as the second ingredient. I am just finishing my second bottle.
This is free of a lot of nasty ingredients, including silicones, which is why I like it. I run 2 pumps up each leg and on my arms after a shower. It does leave white streaks if you don’t take the time to rub it in good. Which I don’t. It doesn’t bother me, and it absorbs usually before I get dressed. When I have gotten dressed right after applying it, I have never had a problem with it getting on my clothing. It is not greasy, but dries quickly and matte. My biggest problem with this lotion is that it is not moisturizing enough for my hands – they feel smooth after (matte), but not moisturized. For the body it is fine.
I bought this to use on occasion instead of my normal Shea Moisture Body Lotion because my BF was sensitive to smells. I do not, however, like the smell of this. I would be willing to try the new version which looks like it weighs more in glycerin and jojoba and is still sans silicones and most nasties. Purchased at my local co-op.

I LOVE this lotion. No scent and no nasty ingredients. Who can argue with natural oils which make up the majority of the ingredient list?! For those who find that it doesn’t absorb well, try using less product. If I put too much on, I agree that it will look white and streaky but then I know I used too much. A little goes a long way with this product.

I totally agree with the previous reviewer – this is the worst body lotion I’ve ever used. It is very sticky and takes a long time to “absorb”. I put the word absorb in quotations because I bathe rather than shower and the next day I could see all this scum rising to the surface of the water. Yick! Needless to say I threw the bottle out.

The bottle I had purchased a few years ago said “new and improved” and since it’s been maybe 8-10 years since I’ve used a Nature’s Gate body lotion, that didn’t mean much to me. Although it sounds favorable, right? Well, not this time. This lotion has to be one of the worst I’ve ever used. It’s goes on like white and thick like sunscreen and takes forever to absorb. By the time the lotion does sink in it does moisturize, but it’s on the light side. There are far better natural body lotions on the market than this.

This lotion is packed with beneficial ingredients for the skin. It contains Safflower Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Sesame Oil, Shea Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Aloe Vera, and Ascorbyl Palmitate (Stable and nonacidic form of Vitamin C). It is one of the most moisturizing lotions I’ve ever tried. It keeps my skin moisturized hours after application. I love that it’s fragrance free and blends into the skin with ease. It also lasts forever! I buy mine from iHerb for $6.47.
