Eucerin is a very well trusted brand because all their products are gentle and effective. This moisturizer works. It has oatmeal and other protective ingredients. This cream and their original one is awesome, the results is enough proof that it works. I’m a snob and when I go into the store, I go right to their products for my nighttime routine. I don’t even bother with the peasant brands. Eucerin/Nivea is actual skincare. Enough said.
Btw, I don’t have eczema or any skin rashes, you don’t need it to use this. If you have it, by all means use it, but if you don’t and you want a true moisturizer, here it is.

So oatmeal (calming), glycerin (humectant), ceramide 3 (lipid) and licorice (anti inflmatory). It’s ecactly what you want for eczema and it’s unscented. A think non greasy cream that goes in fast. It’s soothing. It’s would be my sole cream though. It really is calming. No exfoliants so it very good for sensitive skin that doesn’t need that. It’s got many of my favorite ingredients in one place. So you get the calming of Aveeno but in different texture and licorice is lighting and an antioxidant. So it’s great stuff.

This is a thick cream colored, unscented lotion containing some nice ingredients like oatmeal, ceramides, and lichochalcone. The 1st 4 ings are, however, water, glycerin, castor see oil, and MO. It is calming and very moisturizing for the body, neck, etc. I have dry. itchy, KP-prone body skin that gets very itchy in winter. This is not as good as the Eucerin Professional repair for extremely dry skin or the AmLactin 12% with regard to killing itch and KP, and in some areas can aggravate KP and any body acne a littlebit. Not enough to make me not want to use this in rotation w/ the AmLactin and Professional Repair, it”s just that if I used only this on my chest and upper back all the time it would tend to clog, and fails to reduce KP elsewhere.
The biggiest downside to this product is the packaging. It’s a very thick, hard plastic squeeze tube w/ a horribly tight flip cap that is so hard to open it sliced and gouged my fingers when trying to open it w/ wet fingers, and the cap does not screw off. So, I have to hold the cap in a towel to open it when applying after a shower. And the tube is so hard and thick you can’t squeeze all the product out at the end, even when I had a good 1/7th of the tube left. And once I broke the cap off to try to squeeze the last of the product out , the cap, which does not unscrew – it has a tab that refuses to re-attach once you pop the cap off, would not stay on after. So now I have an open tube I can’t re-cap, and quite a bit of creme still in there.
I will probably not re-buy, because the pkging is so bad and the product, while very nice, is not as good as the other lotions I use at killing KP and avoiding body acne.

Got a free sample from a local dermatologist and this seems to be a VERY good product for itchy, bumpy, dry skin.
I do NOT have eczema but I used it on dry legs/knees and elbows.
Not bad!!! Picked up another 2 sample tubes a few weeks later while at the derm’s office (again). For free? I’ll keep using it.
And fragrance-free.

This stuff is like magic in a tube.
In the winter, my eczema flares up really badly because of the dry air. I had eczema so bad around my ankles from my socks rubbing on my already dry and itchy skin that it looked like I had first degree burns. The skin was dry, flaky, red, and very very itchy. I used this cream only 3 times, and it cleared it up completely. After using it just once, the redness on my legs was half gone, and the itching was almost completely gone.
I also get eczema on the backs of my hands and wrists in the winter from the combination of dry air, and washing my hands (which dries them out, no matter what soap I use), and this cream works really well for that, too. I put it on at night right before I go to bed, and in the morning, my eczema is mostly cleared up.
If you have eczema, you know that sometimes your skin gets tiny cracks in it, and some lotions sting when you put them on. This one doesn’t.

DH has eczema on his knees and this does help provide moisturizing relief. I like that it contains skin soothing colloidal oatmeal and licorice extract. Plus it has glycerin, and ceramide 3. It is also dye and fragrance free.This is a thick cream but not greasy feeling.

Now that winter is here, it’s time to get out the heavier moisturizers for my ezcema-prone skin. For years I have used Aveeno Skin Relief–which works well–but I just can’t stand the sticky-cloying-gluey feeling that I get from using it. So I went on a search for a lotion or creme that my skin could handle, but didn’t feel like I was slathering myself with vaseline every time I used it. Also, I’d prefer not to have to just sit there for 10 minutes or more waiting for it to sink in.
I tried the following, in addition to the Aveeno Skin Relief already mentioned above:
Cerave moisturizing cream– fairly light for an intense cream, texture is somewhere between a lotion and a cream. Did nothing for my itching.
Cetaphil cream–pretty close to Cerave cream, in my opinion (see Cerave comments)
Coconut oil–felt wonderful, but (of course) oily; took a while to sink in; didn’t last as long as I would have expected (a couple of hours, tops)
Eucerin calming–light to medium weight lotion that does seem to calm itch somewhat
Eucerin Intensive Repair–felt light and wonderful, but has alpha hydroxy with a sun exposure warning, and I don’t want to wear heavy sunscreen all of the time (I am sensitive to all chemical sunscreens, and I am very prone to sunburn)
Eucerin Eczema relief–medium weight, feels good going on, does seem to help with itch, long lasting and fragrance free (like most/all Eucerin products).
Jergens Ultra Healing–seems a little gluey to me, no itch relief
Jergens Shea Butter–I have loved this in the past, but the formula has changed and it is not as good as before. Difficult to find in a store.
Gold Bond Intensive–has aloe (I’m allergic–yikes!)
Udderly Smooth–a heavier cream with a medicinal smell
Palmer’s concentrated–smells great; I am a little worried about having my dog lick me when I’ve just put it on (theobromine is very toxic to a dog, but how much is really in this?) It does seem to be wonderfully moisturing.
I did not try Curel or Lubriderm. I have friends with sensitive skin, similar to mine, that can’t use Curel at all (burns). I have tried lubriderm in the past, and it seems pretty gluey in the way that Jergens Ultra Healing seems to be.
Based on my review, Eucerin Eczema is my choice. It’s not massively heavy, but feels wonderful going on. It does seem to cut down on itching for me, more so than their calming cream. I don’t expect a moisturizer to cut eczema completely–I only get true relief from a strong cortisone cream or prednisone–but I do want a cream that my skin tolerates, while not making everything worse. If it cuts down on itching somewhat, it’s a winner in my book. I will continue to use Eucerin’s Eczema Relief and would definitely buy it again even though it is $10+ in most stores. I can get it via subscription on Amazon for $8.99, so that’s what I’ll set up.

EXCELLENT. I had a big ugly eczema patch on my lower leg (because I got careless about moisturizing in the cold), and it started healing with the first application. This has kept my eczema under control this winter, without the gluey texture of the Eucerin original cream (my old reliable product). Packaging could be better, since it’s hard to get the last bit out of the tube, but other than that I’m satisfied and will keep repurchasing.

A more cost effective version of the Instant Relief Therapy Creme!
I have had eczema on and off since I was a little girl. It will randomly flare up. My legs are effected the worse,from my knees on down. All my life it has been a constant battle to find what worked and what didn’t.
Well one thing that worked quite well was tanning. The UV light kept my eczema at bay but obviously at a damaging cost. I only tanned for about 3 years or so and finally decided that paying for cancer was dumb and quit. Much to my dismay though, the skin on my legs started to flare up again about 6 months or so after I quit tanning. They were the worst at night, and I was scratching myself bloody in my sleep. The skin on my legs was getting puffy and red and shaving was once again becoming a thing or horrors.
The only thing that was remotely working was hemp oil but I really hate the smell and the fact that the oil is green and can stain clothing, not to mention the smell can ooze into clothes and walking around smelling like a concentrated bale of grass and hay is not really a good thing.
I saw this and the Instant Relief creme at Target (so far the only place I’ve seen at it). I tried the Instant Relief creme first (and reviewed it) and frankly it was a thing of miracles for my skin. But that little 2 oz tube didn’t last long at all. So I decided to check out the body cream, which comes in a 8 oz tube for around $11.
The ingredient listing between this and the Instant Relief creme are virtually the same, only ordered a bit differently. The body cream also has castor seed oil and I don’t think the Instant Relief does. I placed my bets on them both being similar enough that the body cream would work much like the Instant Relief. The good news? It does!
My legs were on their way to repair from using the Instant Relief creme and this has kept it up. It immediately soothes any irritation (I don’t have much anymore thanks to this line!) and keeps my legs feeling moisturized and itch free. No irritation after shaving either. This cream is a little bit heavier than the Instant Relief but it is not greasy and fully absorbs, important because oily residue left behind actually irritates my skin… weird but go figure.
I use this in the morning and at night to keep my skin happy. It is doing a wonderful job. I hope they never stop making this and if they do, they better give me warning because I need a lifetime supply heh
