This stuff is amazing! I suffer from chronically dry, peeling, cracked and bleeding hands, especially in the winter, not to mention sensitivity and occasionally eczema. My hands would get so sore I would wince when I touched things. After having tried almost every alleged solution available, from drugstore to high end, I’ve FINALLY found it! This balm (which contains no “Cica” that I can see) goes on thick, creamy and soothing, with a slight “unscented” scent reminiscent of Olay. After a few minutes it melts into my skin, forming a protective barrier that lasts overnight or through a couple hand washings. I would compare it most closely to the fragrance-free version of Neutrogena Norwegian Hand Formula, but this one is so much better! If I apply religiously at least three times a day it keeps all dryness, peeling and cracking at bay. I bought a bunch of the $2.99 trial size tubs at Target and stashed them all over my house, and just decant the large size tub into them as I use them up. I’ve also decanted into a squeeze bottle for my purse (if the “unsanitary” tub bothers you, you could decant into an airless pump). Because of this product, my skin is healthy, my nails are growing strong, and I finally have instagram-worthy hands!
Here are some of the other frequently-recommended hand products I’ve tried that didn’t work: Neutrogena, Vaseline, Cerave, Body Shop, Burt’s Bees, O’Keefe’s, Gold Bond, Eucerin, Bath and Body Works, Shiseido, L’Occitane, Bliss, Soap & Glory, Kiehl’s, Aesop, lots of dermatologist-recommended formulas, thick ointments with gloves, and a plethora of cuticle oils. BTW, the oointment version of Aveeno cracked skin relief, in the strange applicator squeeze tube, is worthless in my opinion, it’s just petrolatum (Vaseline).

This stuff is amazing. My hands and feet had gotten so dry they were cracking, itching and becoming painful thanks to a move to a cold climate and very hard water. Nothing was helping. I went to the drugstore to see what else I could try when I saw this. Decided to give it a try. In just a few days my feet and hands are so soft. I am shocked. I can not get over how well this stuff works and I love that there is no scent.

Face and neck cream
I have had the week from hell and one of the many things to go wrong for me this week was a sever reaction to I dont know what?! On Sunday I developed a small rash on my chin (not uncommon for me) but it gradually spread across my entire face which never happens. I had just bought new makeup brushes that I didnt wash before use and suspect that was the culprit. After a couple of days of the rash becoming worse and my face becoming incredibly itchy I had no other choice but to slather on Duac which cleared the rash thankfully but I was left with a severely damaged skin barrier. My skin was incredibly tight, itchy and flaky, so much so that I caught people staring at me in work, on the street and in shops.
I layered my MooGoo natural full moisturiser over a vitamin serum, hyaluronic acid serum and rose hip oil, brought the oisturiser to work with me and any chance I got during work I locked myself away in the disabled bathroom and basted my face like a turkey, I was moisturising 4 times a day and still my skin was tight and flaky with no sign of improvement. – No shade on any of these products as they usually work great on my problematic sensitive skin, they just wearnt enough for this level of irritation and dryness.
I went to the chemist to buy a new face cream specially for damaged/very dry skin, the pharmacist came over to me and offered to help having noticing my skin as I came in she said my skin barrier was very damaged. She recommended a 17 euro LA ROCHE POSE cream which I bought as I was willing to spend anything in order clear up my skin, ran straight to the shopping center toilets and used the cream immediately, it did offer some relief and I continued using it but really made no difference, sort of just sat on my skin creating a layer that didnt actually stop the flakiness.
After a day of moisturising my skin at any chance with my new cream and seeing very little change I went to boots on the way home and decided to buy another cream. Came across this Aveeno skin relief by chance, read on the ox that it rebuilds the skin barrier so thought id give it a try.
Put it on as soon as I got home and removed my makeup and all I can say is PHEW!! the relief was something else, my face felt and looked nourished immediately and the flakes had disappeared.
Who knows, maybe in the morning when it has all absorbed my skin will be flaky and tight again but I expect it to take a few days for it to heal. This is the only cream I used that actually gave me really good immediate results like ive not experienced even when my skin is not damaged.
This is more of a balm than a cream, its very emollient almost like Vaseline but more absorbent, its not scented or coloured and doesnt aggravate my sensitive skin.
The only thing I dont like is how much alcohol is in the ingredient list.
If I have any negative results from this I will update this review but for now I am very impressed, this little tube has been a life saver as ive been so self conscious and uncomfortable in my skin all week.
Another thing worth mentioning is im noticing a spot coming up on the side of my nose from using this which usually happens with creams that are very emollient and thick and I have been lashing this on as I love how it feels, I would not recommend this to anyone who has oily or acne prone skin as id imagine it will clog your pours and it is quite greasy but great for anyone with super dry or damaged skin.
Update – The day after when I woke up my skin was very soft and in the best condition it had been all week after using this cream. I still had a few dry patches under my eyes but I was very surprised at how well this worked on my skin which was like sandpaper this time yesterday.
Just too add its so hydrating ive noticed y skin is much plumper, even the skin on my hands is less liney.
I will be stocking up on this cream.

Love this product. It contains 5% dimethicone in a cream base. Also has glycerin and soothing oat extracts. I have issues with severly dry, itchy skin on my neck and the skin on my hands will crack in the winter. This product began working instantly for me to stop the itching and heal the cracked skin. Dimethicone acts as a skin protectant. I would absolutely repurchase this. Fragrance free.
