I do have to say that I like this body butter the jar lasts a long time. The body butter is also moisturizing and gentle on the skin.
It dries quickly, so you don’t have to wait a long time. I have normal to dry skin, and I don’t know how it performs on sensitive skin.
The only real negative point is that the smell is incredibly strong; you can smell it all day long, other than that it does a pretty good job.
Would I repurchase it? Probably not it isn’t the best moisturizer out there!

A big fan of coconut fragranced products, I picked up a tub of this on sale from one of TBS stores. Although I love the smell, I wasn’t big on this one. It’s greasy and sits on top of my skin, even on very dry areas like my lower half of my legs which can drink up virtually any hydrating moisturizer. And despite tolerating the greasiness it didn’t do all that great a job of hydrating either. Tried to use as a hand cream instead but the same problem – it just does not absorb into my skin. Not a re-purchase for me.

These are ~$7 for the travel size B.B. on Ebay & approx $20+ for the regular sized some of them so I bought the travel sized thinking it would be suitable for my bag (it is a good size). I had a full sized TBS B.B. way back a long time ago geez like ten+ years ago from NYC store & I remember it smelling much stronger than this 1. This 1 is more subtle so I think it’s been reformulated as they tend to do that; but it’s not as good. I ordered strawberry & vanilla pumpkin I haven’t received yet but it will be a “no” on rebuy for coconut for me. I’m going to buy the banana 1 the next time I’m in Ulta too those are all my fave scents but I hope they smell more intense. This smells nice like coppertone & coconut just not strong like I’d like it to. It’s a treat for my calloused hands. It soaks I’m pretty good I have a problem w lotions/B.B. not soaking in & that annoys me but I’m glad this absorbs well. The packaging inherently is prone to infecting but I reserve it for my own personal use it’s my own germs lol mine was all slidden to the side it’s not thin it’s thick it’s nice I will still give it 5/5 over all, 3/5 price; 5/5 packaging as you know what you are getting into & my frugal heart sings that you can use up every last bit!

I didn’t feel it had much moisturizing properties at all. It was greasy, but my skin was still dry. My hands still felt parched. The scent is beautiful and the packaging is also, but for $21, this is a pass for me. The size was generous, but if it doesn’t work, what does the quantity matter? I’ll just buy the eu de toilett and enjoy the fragrance.

I love the consistency of this stuff, it does a good job of moisturizing my body. However, I don’t love the smell. I love coconut but this one seems like… just a cheap imitation of coconut. It’s not a bad smell, just not one that I love. I will use it all up but won’t repurchase.

I bought this at a sale hoping it would be a natural coconut smell. I also kind of like that suntan lotion smell with a hint of coconut, but the scent for this lotion falls flat. It smells synthetic and like play-doh. I was taken aback by this unpleasant scent, but I do not like to waste product, so I am almost finished with this. I haven’t changed my mind about it and won’t be repurchasing. I also think that the jar packaging harbors bacteria and is a bit of an annoyance to use. The product itself has a strange texture. It gets kind of lumpy and doesn’t melt on the skin and takes a bit of rubbing. A body “butter” should actually resemble butter…at least I think so. It helps to rub the product between the palms to warm it up. It also doesn’t moisturize incredibly well for the price, so I think there are way better options out there.

This smells so good, one of my favorite scents. It’s a great body butter as well, leaves my skin baby soft and moisturized. I use it in the summer after a day out in the sun and in the winter for deep hydration and a scent pick me up. Actually, I love it year round haha

This is my go-to body and feet lotion, especially in the Summertime. Super hydrating and goes in the skin immediately! Doesn’t leave you greasy and smells like a pina colada by the pool.
The price is right for this wonderful lotion too!

This has been my HG body moisturizer for at least the last year, maybe a bit longer. I have very dry skin and usually a generous layer of this from neck to toes keeps me comfortably moisturized for a full 24 hours. It’s a little greasy on application, but it sinks in pretty quickly. Like I said, most of the time that’s all I need. Sometimes – especially when the humidity is very low – I definitely need more, and I’ll be back to itching myself bloody within a few hours of applying this, so there are definitely times I wish this was richer.

LOVE this as a body moisturizer. I don’t remember much about the scent either way, except that it was of course coconuty/tropical. For me the texture is what makes me love this product. It absorbs extremely well, yet its so moisturizing and really feels great on the skin. I’d buy this as a staple if I had a TJ’s nearby. I actually prefer the tub container vs a pump bottle because I don’t have to waste any product this way. I tend to be picky about lotion textures–I don’t like too watery or too greasy and I feel this product hits the perfect balance of deep moisture without being tacky or heavy on the skin.

Very disappointed. I thought it would be very moisturizing since it’s a body butter but I was wrong. It doesn’t moisturizer my skin at all even though my skin is not super dry. I was using body shops body butter which are so rich and moisturizing but they can be so expensive so I was looking for a cheaper alternative. But this body butter feels even lighter than most lotions i have tried. I don’t like the scent either but it’s not too horrible. It has a strong vanilla smell so if u don’t like vanilla, you wouldn’t like it. I’m definitely not buying it again. If you’re looking for a rich , emollient, hydrating butter, then this is not for you. If you want something very light, then it might be good as long as you like vanilla scent.

i work in the healthcare industry and we are ALWAYS washing our hands. This body butter is AMAZINGLY hydrating. Not to mention the smell. I have Pumpkin, Coconut and Pomegranate and they are all amazing.

I really wanted to like this body butter and there were a couple things I did like. I loved the whipped consistency and I personally liked the “cheap vanilla candle” scent, however this stuff wasn’t as hydrating as you’d expect from a body butter. It’s weird that it didn’t moisturize that well because of the coconut oil content and the fact that it felt like it sat on top of my skin for a long time after I applied it but I guess I’ll just have to keep searching for my HG body lotion. A tub of this also goes super fast – it only lasted me about two weeks for an 8 ounce jar.

This is really thick and creamy and I cannot believe given the texture how bad it is at hydrating my skin. I will wake up the next morning flakey and ashy and I’ve never used a worse moisturizer. It’s cheap but if it doesn’t work than its just a waste of money. Smells like fake coconut too, which wouldn’t bother me if it worked but it doesn’t. To be fair I live in Colorado and have dry skin but plain coconut oil works a million times better, or any other lotion.

My absolute favorite body butter. It moisturizes so well and smells delicious! A really nice tropical scent that I can’t get enough of. Literally no cons for me on this one. Repurchased over and over!

I received this and the coconut hand cream as a gift. I found the coconut scent to be overpowering. And it lingers. I do not want to smell like synthetic coconut and play-doh all through the night, so I actually had to rinse this off. I am also not impressed with this silicone based formula. It is greasy and not hydrating.

I have keratosis pilaris (KP) – also known as permanent chicken skin/goosebumps on my arms. The best ever moisturizer for my KP is real coconut oil. (You know – in a jar, from the grocery store). But, that can be messy and greasy when it is the summer and you are wearing short sleeves.
I bought the Body Shop Coconut Butter on a whim because it smells great, and I needed something more convenient than real coconut oil for a quick moisturizer. I am not going to lie – it smells good enough to eat. I love the scent – not quite suntan lotion but leaning more toward coconut cream pie.
So, I have been slathering it on my arms every night. (I also use a weekly sugar scrub on my KP), and the body butter is very good. It is very moisturizing, and the moisture lasts until the morning. It is still not as great as real coconut oil, but I would buy it again. The Body Shop butter also works great on dry knees and elbows. Added bonus, I am getting more nighttime cuddles from my husband because I smell so good!

I LOVE this stuff. It smells so good and is so moisturizing on my legs. I can’t use it on my arms because it causes breakouts, but that’s ok. I use it after i shave and my legs are so soft!

I have to agree with another reviewer that says this reeks like a cheap vanilla candle. As soon as I opened and sniffed, it put me off immediately… Overwhelmingly artifical coconut/vanilla smell.. The cream is nice, but not amazing.. It is not greasy at all and sinks in, but I can’t imagine this working well for someone with severely dry skin issues.
Dang it! I was SO excited to get this as I love coconut scents and I watched a Youtube review lauding this cream, stating it smelled of a natural dessicated coconut.. NOT so for me, at all.. I had bought one for me and one as a Christmas gift, but taking both back to TJ’s… I should have asked Trader Joe’s to let me sample it first. they usually do that with their products..

I gave this three lippies because it’s very hydrating, which a body butter should be. I actually give it 5 for that. However, the engineered coconut scent (definitely NOT what actual coconut oil smells like) is unbelievably overwhelming – to the point I can still smell it the next day. Seriously, no product needs to have such a strong smell! It’s actually stronger than some perfumes. Soooo – if you have very dry skin and want everyone in the room to know you are wearing a fake coconut scent – BUY THIS!! If you are bothered by strong engineered scents, don’t buy this.
