Hit and miss with sanctuary but the ones I find a hit are fab indeed. The products nearly always smell great, body lotions too light but body butters are great. Their warming scrub is just fantastic but I hate the oily salt one.
This lotion has the signature fragrance and is wonderful but it is too light to make a difference with moisture.
A little note to those who say this is a boots product.. Sanctuary started in London as a spa. It closed down a few years ago but could still buy their products from boots.. They are also for sale in superdrug and others now. This ISN’T a product from boots, its not made by them as far as I know. Boots just sell em. Cheers!

I think this could be a tad more moisturizing for my dry skin but BUT
THE SMELLLL omg heavenly total spa treatment!

A lovely-smelling concoction of ginger, patchouli and orange. A great smell that lasts for xmas. The warming effects are for real! It’s too strong for my armpits tho where it caused a burning sensation that took a few hours to die down. Moisturising effects are fine. I have the travel size and it’s sometimes a bit tricky to get out of the bottle.

This is quite a treat!
I’d never looked at or considered Boots Sanctuary line. The packaging appears to be aiming itself at the… errrr… more mature lady! So when I got a Sanctuary giftset in my secret santa gift (EXCELLENT call!), I was excited to have a few new toys to play with…
The bath foam was blah, the scrub was meh… This lotion…. Well!…
I had my sanctuary bath with my sanctuary scrub and put on the sanctuary lotion. Got in bed with my completely zonked out boyfriend. Five mins later my skin starts getting really warm… Then hot… It wasn’t uncomfortable but disconcerting! Thinking I was having a terrible allergic reaction, I considered waking up the mister… (coz that would have helped?!) Then I looked at the packaging… A pleasant warming sensation it advertised! (If I’d have known that maybe I would have been more selective in my application! Live and learn…)
Since then this has become my post-gym bezzie mate! It feels so lovely on slightly stressed out muscles!
The smell is very “sophisticated”, very “grown up”. The lotion is quite light; smooths on easily and sinks in quite well.
My only gripe is the bottle! Thin, narrow bottle with a screw top! Rather difficult to master when your hands are wet!

Sanctuary spa Coventry garden Bidadari shimmering body oil this is a great price at £9.99 compared to nuxe dry oil at about £25.00. I have used both products and I cannot tell the difference, therefore I would buy the sanctuary product again. It goes on easily, dries quickly and lasts all day.

This product smells amazing! and i’m afraid for me thats where the good points end. Within minutes of rubbing this into my legs i was in agony and having a serious allergic reaction to it. I have used the Sanctuary body oil, bath cream, shower gel and body scrub so the reaction was not to the fragrance but it still removed a layer of skin from both of my legs. I tried rinsing it off but it still burned and when i wiped it with a cold face cloth thin sheets of skin cake off with it. For days my legs were raw and painful and it took weeks for the redness to go away. I would definitely not recommend it for sensitive skin and i would recommend anyone else to do an allergy test.
over all 1/ 10 for the smell

Hands down, the best scented drugstore line of bath products I’ve found. Manufactured by Boots Chemist for The Sanctuary Spa in London, these products are currently being carried in the U.S. by Target. As the previous reviewer noted, this is a light lotion that’s probably best used during warmer weather (the body butter or body souffle provides heavier moisturizing for me in cold, dry weather). The fragrance in this line is amazing…a sandalwood-patchouli-bergamot-musk combination that is out of this world. It also layers really well with many fragrances that share these notes, although it’s also heavenly on its own.

If I’m paying $48 for a body lotion I expect it to perform miracles! But although miracles don’t always come with high price tags, they do always come with beneficial ingredients – AHA’s, BHA’s, antioxidants, etc. Yes this moisturizes, to put it to the test I used on my lower legs which are constantly parched and it did slightly soothe and moisturize but then again so could a $1 Nivea crème. Like La Mer and La Prairies body moisturizers which I’ve also tried, this too just does the basics, nothing more, the only added advantage here being that there are no chemicals or nasties in this. The composition is mainly oils and a few extracts. For 1/3rd of this price I can get a lotion that not only hydrates but renews my skin or delivers potent antioxidants to fight against aging… I cannot find a single antioxidant in the ingredients here, not even plain old Vitamin E! Nice to have tried this in trial size and got it out of my system but no way would I spend on the full size.

Amazing! This body lotion is so rich, it is one of the best lotions I ever tried. It smells very natural, like oils and nuts from the rainforest…
It’s quite thin right when it comes out of the bottle, but once I put it on my skin, it feels more creamy/thick. It absorbs well.
unhappyCod4
Has a strong floral scent. This is the same ingredients as the hand lotion. The only difference is the hand lotion contains witch hazel. Ahava MIneral Body lotion is below average lotion for me. Cheaper, drugstore lotions such as Eucerin, SkinFix and Aveeno Daily Naturals are much better than this.
grudgingCaribou9
My eczema body won’t allow me to use any of Ahava’s lotion. I’ve tried them all and it itches even more!
When my eczema was not serious, the lotion is a dream to use… All of them. But not anymore…
Then again, my eczema got really serious for 3 years and I was with a lot of open wounds.
I have another bottle of velvet body lotion (Hibiscus & Fig) which I will try again when I’m all healed.

Got a free sample of the “Water” lotion – which smelled minerally but pleasant enough. Very effective on hands, arms and legs. A runny/watery lotion.

This lotion does the trick on dry skin, as it is ment for women who live in a very dry desert climate. The products are from Israel and are very high quality.
I love the neutral scent and package, just like what a high quality product used in a beauty spa should be.
The price isn’t cheap, I get my products straight from Israel, but here in Belgium (where I live) they are extremely expensive.

I’ve used Ahava body lotions and hand creams on and off for about 4 years now. I like the fragrance and have found that even friends with sensitive skin can use this body lotion and nothing else. I like the fact that the the lotion absorbs well and has a low “rub-off” factor on clothing. I do agree with those who say this lotion may not provide enough moisture, but if you’re looking for something that absorbs well, smells fresh, and allows you to dress quickly, this is a good choice.

This review is for Dead Sea Essentials by Ahava body lotion in “Aloe Vera”.
Quick Review:
Pros- smells fresh (not overpowering), fast absorbing, not greasy, softens skin
Cons- somewhat pricey, inconvenient bottle
Overall: I would love to give this product 5 stars BUT it is pretty pricey IMO, and the bottle is a little awkward to use, especially when your hands are covered in lotion
Complete Review:
I am very picky about body/hand lotions, because I don’t want to “feel” the lotion and don’t want to smell as if I doused myself in perfume… and I think I have found “the one” lol. I bought the Dead Sea Essentials by Ahava body lotion in “Aloe Vera” from Target, though I am sure there are other places to find this product.
When applying the lotion, move quickly because it does absorb faster than most (which is mentioned on the back of the bottle), so be warned if you are the type that likes to “rub in” their lotions, which I am not, I typically don’t allow myself that much time in the mornings to get ready. My skin seems to love this lotion, it feels very soft, even hours later, especially the backs of my arms. I have keratosis pilaris which leaves my arms somewhat dry, bumpy and red/pink, and this product appears to have helped 🙂
The scent “seems” strong when you first smell it in/out of the bottle, but once you apply it, the scent starts to dissipate. It smells very fresh, not very floral nor powdery, it’s hard to describe. Long after application, you can still smell a hint of the lotion, which I find very nice, especially if you have a “special” person nuzzling your neck 😉
Unfortunately there are a couple downfalls. First, it is quite pricey IMO. It was $18 for a 17 ounce bottle!!! This may not seem like much, except for the fact that I am almost 1/3 through the bottle and I’ve only had it for a week and a half and have used it just a little more than every other day. Second, the bottle is a pain in the rear. It is rectangular shaped and bulky, which wouldn’t be a concern of mine, if it had a pump, which it doesn’t… you have so squeeze the product out which can prove difficult with a smooth bottle and slick hands.
So overall, I am really enjoying this lotion and definitely will be buying it again (unless of course I find something that tops this lol)… The only things I would change about this product is the price (who wouldn’t?) and the bottle.
cruelFish9
Buy the mineral hand lotion and use it as a body lotion. For some reason it’s not quite the same formula and feels thinner. Doesn’t refresh my skin the same way, though the smell is the same. I prefer other body lotions, jergens works just as well.
spiritedCow8
I Have the honeysuckle scent of this lotion, and I adore it. It makes my skin soft, but I do wish that the scent lingered a little longer…
gleefulBittern7
Very very affordable. This isn’t a “cheap” product although it is inexpensive. Smells like a nice perfume, makes my skin soft, and all for an excellent value.
unhappyOatmeal1
Have this lotion in the cumber scent and it’s just ok. Don’t care for the scent much, kind of cloying, and it’s feels so “vegetable glycerin like” I’m not sure how to describe it. Will not repurchase.
Edit: Had to up to four lippies after using it for a while as a hand lotion at night. I really like it a lot for that, I wake up with super soft and supple hands. The cucumber scent has grown on me too but next time I’ll choose another flavor. Will repurchase!

I use the testers of these when i am in Whole Paycheck (ahem, Whole Foods) and they smell and feel nice. That said I still have yet to buy a full bottle. I have oceans of similar products at home.
Good ingredients for the most part and some of them smell great.
outlyingPudding3
This lotion smells nice, though the scent faded after a few hours. When applied, it soaked in quickly and was moderately moisturizing. I would buy again.

I just got this in Yuzu. Not only is the smell wonderful (citrus/floral without smelling like detergent), but it isn’t too greasy or too watery like a lot of “natural” lotions I have tried. This lotions is nice and rich but not heavy feeling, a good everyday body lotion. Going to try other Shi Kai products because of this!
jubilantPolenta6
This stuff smells amazing! I have the coconut one. I bought this for my husband to use since I use plain coconut milk as a lotion and he wanted something natural too for his hands mostly. He loves this, and I use it also. Smells like those coconut tan/sunscreen lotions, which I never use but have always loved the smell. Only $6 at vitacost.
gleefulEggs2
Love, love, love this product. I am trying to switch to cruelty-free products, and discovered this when I stayed overnight at a hotel that provided Mineral Fusion soap, body lotion, conditioner and even a sewing kit! The soap and the sewing kit cannot be found outside the Wyndam hotel chain–rats.
Anyway. I fell in love with the way that this lotion made my skin feel, and pleased that the softness lasted for several hours. If I need a deeper amount of moisture I just add a few drops of Argan oil to the mix. I usually have trouble with scents, but I purchased this in “Waterstone” and I am practically addicted to it. Immediately purchased 4 more.
I like this so much that I would work for the company. Good folks, from what I know, and committed to quality, wonderful service, and community outreach to abused women.
I only publish reviews of products that I truly believe in, and I use most of my reviewed products every day, long term. I am an ordinary woman trying to find what works without breaking the bank!

Once again, a winner!! Every I try a Mineral Fusion product, I fall in love. This body cream is rich and makes my skin super smooth. I like to use it on my elbows and heels, where it is really dry. I love the texture and how it also comes in unscented as I am sensitive to scents. Buy this! You’ll love it.
cheerfulQuiche3
Having tried many “natural” body lotions, I have yet to find one that made my skin soft. Until I tried Mineral Fusion. It went on so smoothly and immediately hydrated my dry legs and arms. I waited a bit to see if my legs would return to dry in a matter of minutes (a result I have found with most of the body creams I have tried) but not this one. My skin stayed hydrated all day. I applied again at night and woke up to smooth skin. I love the fact Mineral Fusion’s is unscented as I am sensitive to scents. Gluten, paraben and cruelty free…this is a winner!
murkySyrup3
I have sensitive eczema prone skin. I found this to be a good product. I have the unscented type, and it is lightweight and non-greasy. My skin has had no reactions either.
madWasp5
The scent was nice and the produt absorbed quickly, but I did not feel that it was very moisturizing. Probably a nice produt for someone looking for a light moisturizer.
spiritedMuesli7
I got a sample of this and I recently bought the full size. That almost never happens , I am so picky , I like to try tons of different stuff. But this was such a fresh airy smell, like the ocean air. Not greasy at all. And its got tons of good stuff in it for my skin so its not all chemically….
anxiousEagle9
Got a sample of this. Washedmy face, put it on, within 2 minutes it felt like it was just a slick of oil on the top of my skin and underneath was bone dry. Had a look at the ingredients and it contained cranberry oil. I’m deathly allergic to cranberrys so I washed it off immediately. Yes I know this is a crap review because it wasn’t on my face for long enough. 2 minutes was enough though.

This is part of the whole range of Sanctuary bath and body products with the usual delicious orangey fragrance. They are all very reasonably priced.
This is quite a light lotion – not really for heavy duty use but good to moisturize all over. It feels light and smooth and doesn’t leave you feeling at all sticky but just gently moisturizes the skin.
It comes in a very useful pump bottle which is quite effective – you can get very nearly to the last drop without having to invert the bottle, which you can’t say for all pump dispensers.
thrilledCaviar8
I really wanted to like this and bought 2 big bottles of this at a deep discount at Winner’s. Definitely would not pay the full price for this product. I find that I need a lot to moisturize. Very average moistuizer. I don’t find the scent particularly strong.
wakefulPepper3
I love everything that I have used from AHAVA. The mineral body lotion is no exception. It has a light texture and it smooths into my skin nicely. I enjoy the fresh fragrance- sort of an aloe, cucumber-ish salty scent. The fragrance isn’t cloying at all. This lotion leaves my skin feeling soft and silky, never sticky. Two thumbs up!
dejectedMagpie0
I found this lotion at my local Ulta store and I love it BUT…the smell is so overpowering. It doesn’t smell bad but it is SO strong and the scent lasts all day and night. What’s the point of wearing expensive perfume if all you can smell is the lotion. I won’t be purchasing it again.
drearyLion4
LOOOVE!!! I own the Gardenia scent, its the most delicious smelling lotion ever! I use it all over my body just so I can smell really good, although the smell doesn’t last all day sadly. I paid about 9 dollars for it at Whole Foods, which is not bad in my opinion because it smells so dang good! I can’t wait to try out some of the other fragrances

I have been using the Desert Essence Organics line of hand and body lotions for about a year. I was at my local health food store about a week ago and saw this on sale, so I decided to pick up the Yuzu scent. This lotion also has the same rating on EWG Skin Deep as the Desert Essence lotions do for toxicity levels. Let me start by saying, I live in a terribly dry climate, and during the winter months I have been use to using moisturizers that help, but don’t correct my problem dry skin for very long. (Especially after shaving my legs, or my hands after I do dishes.) This product however…Knocked my proverbial socks off! It really leaves long lasting moister and softens the skin. Its not sticky AT ALL, and soaks right in leaving a beautiful, almost “powdery” smooth finish. (So you can hop into jeans) It doesn’t sting or irritate my sensitive skin and as I said, I use it right after I shave with no issues. The other great thing, is that after a week, I have notice a significant improvement in the way my skin looks.: Tone/Texture/Supple/Scars and Marks Diminished/Pore Size Decreased.
I’m so happy with this that I am going to be purchasing other products from this brand. I can only sense that they will be as wonderful as well.

I am in love with the coconut one! The smell is so yummy – even my kids love this. I feel like it’s a good value for the price. I like that it’s natural and doesn’t smell fake. Moisturizes beautifully without being greasy at all. Sinks in quickly. Perfect!

I just started using this product after reading the reviews and I love this stuff. This review is of the body lotion light sesame formula. The scent is light and delicate, not overpowering. It glides on and absorbs fast. Is non-greasy. I use it in combination with the body oil light sesame formula and love that also. I am going to start using Neutrogena products exclusively. I’ve already bought two more bottles. I love the pump too!
wingedPup5
i haven’t tried this for a period of time already but as far as i can remember, this product worked great! i love the light feel and the slight fragrance of sesame. i wouldn’t mind buying this again.
madRat0
This review is for the Neutrogena Body Lotion, light sesame formula. This is my favorite lotion. I have a hard time finding a lotion I like for my dry skin. A lot of them work well at first and then somehow seem to dry my skin out even more than when I used nothing. This is the exception though. It’s a lightweight lotion that sinks in nicely. It actually seems to hydrate my skin, unlike so many other lotions that just coat it. I love the smell too – similar to the Neutrogena body oil (which I also love).
