I have repurchased this hand balm a few times. I love Diptyque products and this is probably one of my favorites. It smells like apricots and cream. It’s so heavenly! It isn’t too thick and it’s not greasy. It’s definitely a splurge at $42 for a small tube. If you want a luxury hand lotion for your bag or bedside table, this is it. If you want something thicker, more affordable, and offers better hydration go with L’Occitane Shea Hans lotion.

Thank the lawd I did not purchase this! It was one of many samples I was given when I made an obscenely unnecessary Diptyque candle purchase today.
The only positive I can give this cream is that A) it really does moisturize nicely and B) its nice and thick. BUT its nothing to write home about considering that there are numerous other luxe had-creams out there which do the same, and do so at a lower price point. Unfortunately though even if this cream were all out HG status amazing I just wouldn’t be able to use it because… well, um… THIS. SH*T. STINKS. No joke, I was repulsed and had to wash numerous times plus use a sugar scrub in my attempt to rid myself of this horrific scent. It smells just like sour or curdled milk to me. It was so bad that I tossed the sample in the garbage, even though it was a really nice generous size. No way, no how, never again.

Very rich hand balm! And the scent is awesome too. I love Diptyque’s whole body care line!

this hand cream seems hit or miss with most reviewers. i keep it on my night stand and apply to my hands and feet at night. its rich but not greasy which i find luxurious. my skin gets that dewiness from the formulation’s quality humectants. the scent is very mild & french, like something clean & expensive. i love it because it doesn’t linger just melts away. i hate hand creams with intense cloying fragrances. i do wish i had better packaging. the jar is ok, but a pain to close. it takes two hands to screw a jar shut, inevitably one of mine will have a lump of lotion on it. its light enough the ta well made pump should work.

I received this hand balm as part of a Christmas present and I must admit, I’m pretty disappointed by it! I love Diptyque fragrances and for me this hand cream was no exception though it seems to be hit and miss among users. The hand cream is a pretty standard consistency for a hand cream and it does leave my hands feeling rich and hydrated right after using it. However, after about 20 minutes of having this on my hands, they feel more dry than they did before I applied it. I’m not really sure why the product does this but it certainly isn’t what my hands need in the dead of winter. Wouldn’t recommend.

This hand cream is a thick cream that does feel very emollient and moisturizing and lives up to its “luxurious” name. It absorbs well and doesn’t leave my hands sticky and greasy. Would be a good hand cream except for the smell….. this is really up to individual preference, so do try it before buying. To me it smells like old forgotten soap which absolutely lingers even after washing my hands. Couldn’t bear to use it again just because of the smell.

My reaction is completely opposite of earlier review. Lovely light yet luxurious feeling hand cream. Not runny. Comes in a jar. Absorbs quickly. You only need a tiny amount. Lovely light scent that is not annoying. Keeps my hands in great shape. Expensive, but a small jar lasts a long time.

This is called a “balm,” but in fact it is a runny lotion. It does not absorb readily, and remains moist and almost sticky on the hands for a long time without really moisturizing them. The most interesting thing about this product is the scent. Diptyque describes it this way: “The Luxurious Hand Balm is soft and full, like a perfectly plump apricot. The tender, golden fruit unfolds on a bed of milky, bitter-sweet almonds.” What I got from it was a very green, herbal opening that mellowed to a pretty, slightly floral finish–no fruit or almond at all; however, I do not have a fine nose like many of the MUAers who post about fragrances. At $38 for 50 ml, this is one expensive hand cream that does nothing but smell good. Give it a pass–it’s terribly disappointing.
