I got this lotion at Ulta. It was $9.99 for a 32fl oz bottle, but there was a $2 off coupon attached to the bottle (plus there was a buy 2 get 1 free sale on c. Booth products at the time.)
There are 4 claims to this product (I’m writing the claims as worded directly off the bottle):
1) Exfoliate: Malic acid removes dead & damaged skin cells to even out skin tone.
2) Hydrate: Sweet Almond, Apricot Kernel, & Shea Butter oils all work in perfect harmony to hydrate thirsty skin.
3) Nourish: Antioxidant vitamins & minerals fight harsh environmental forces.
4) Firm: Caffeine wakes up skin, helping to firm & rejuvenate.
This stuff is definitely nourishing & hydrating. If it exfoliates I haven’t noticed (I use an exfoliating scrub on my body), & I honestly haven’t noticed any firming effects either, but that’s okay (I didn’t even read the claims before I bought this product, so I wasn’t expecting it to do anything other than moisturize.)
The scent is good but when I first got it I wished it was stronger. It’s grown on me though & is sort of nice… the vanilla smells clean & natural… not overpowering or cloying. Also when I first used this lotion I thought that it wasn’t sinking into my skin very well. Then I realized that I was just using too much. I don’t have to use as much of this lotion as I do with other lotions, which is nice because it means that this giant bottle will last even longer.
I’ll repurchase this lotion for sure, although next time I’ll probably get a different scent, just to switch things up a little.

This lotion is the perfect combination of moisturizer with light fragrance. I’ve noticed that while I love the scent of body butters, they are all too thick for wearing underneath clothes and don’t absorb very well on me. This lotion provides a nice layer of moisture and a warm buttery vanilla scent that lasts all day. LOVE that it’s not loaded with mineral oils and parabens like most other fragranced drugstore moisturizers. Go Wal-Mart for carrying this line!!

I like this lotion very much. I got it on close-out for $6.50, but it’s usually pricier (between $11-$16) for the big pump container.
It has a nice smell and the benefits it touts (hydrating, exfoliating, firming, etc.) are all great, even if the actual impact of them is not really too noticeable. The lotion smells pleasant and light. The formula is thin enough to absorb quickly but rich enough to moisturize well. A little spreads a long way, which is great. Free of parabens and sulfates.
Update: So sad I had to discontinue this only two weeks after I started using it. It’s a great lotion – I really do love how thin yet moisturizing the formula is – but it was not compatible with my sensitive, acne-prone skin. I started developing a consistent, red/pink rash on my chest and back of my shoulders as I was using this and nothing else in my routine had changed. I looked this up on COSDNA after having this reaction and saw that it has several irritating/acne-causing ingredients. It didn’t really cause severe acne for me as much as it did some minor bumps, irritation/itch and inflamed skin. Have to bump down the overall score and go back to my sensitive skin lotion. Be aware if your skin is also very reactive to cetyl alcohol or other irritants.

I just finished the giant 32oz pump bottle. It took me a year of almost every night use.
It’s on the thin side of lotions, great for summer, not enough moisture for winter.
Overall it’s very good, however it’s not 4 in 1. After a year of use, my skin doesn’t look any different than it did before, but it is soft (as it was before as well). In other words it did no harm, but it didn’t do anything different than any other lotion. It smells like vanilla yogurt on my skin. It’s ok but I think the AHA’s didn’t mix well with my chemistry, so it smelled a tad bit sour vs. sugary.
It’s a great value at $10 for a years worth of lotion, but I got bored with it after the first couple of months.

First off the scent is delicious! A very sweet, warm, buttery vanilla scent. And it lingers around which is also nice. The feel if the lotion is very luxurious..not too thick or light/watery it’s just perfect. Absorbs very well but not very fast but I have no complaints about that. It has great ingredients and no mineral oil or petroleum jelly! I will repurchase!!!

I love this lotion, mostly because it smells exactly like Aquolina Pink Sugar perfume and it’s the right balance of moisturizing and not slimy. The fragrance is noticeable but not loud or headachy and it lasts a long time. The lotion doesn’t really exfoliate or firm but it’s non-irritating, even on freshly shaved legs, and it keeps my scaly skin looking and feeling soft and smooth for a full day. The bottle is huge and the pump is convenient; the only downside is that you can’t get at the last ounce of product without taking apart the bottle. It’s fairly inexpensive, especially compared to “perfume” lotions, and it’s often on sale and coupon-eligible at Ulta, which is the only place I’ve found it.

While I avoid fragrance in all my face products, I do enjoy scented body butters and lotions when the scent is this good.
I love vanilla, and the vanilla scent in this is strong. If you’re not into foodie scents, run away. I bought this mainly because I wanted a vanilla-scented body lotion that wouldn’t break the bank.
I’ve had this 32-ounce pump bottle for several months and even with daily use, it is still more full than empty. Purchased at Ulta for ten dollars, and it was buy one, get one half off. It is supposed to serve 4 purposes: exfoliate, hydrate, nourish, and firm.
“Firming” refers to the caffeine in it, which is a common ingredient in a lot of lotions that attempt to combat cellulite. Honestly, I can’t tell if it has any effect on cellulite. Mine doesn’t look any worse, I’ll say that, but I don’t know if I have less of it. The caffeine does have an “invigorating” feel, so I love to put this on in the morning to help wake me up. Is this healthy? I don’t know. Feel free to debate this issue while I sip my Starbucks.
As far as exfoliating, it might be doing this but certainly not to the degree of flaking or peeling. I use BHA lotions occasionally and even AHA lotions occasionally. It’s less potent than that. My skin looks better with this lotion than without any lotion. Beyond that, I’m not really aware of what it’s doing. Again, I bought it for the nice smell. And it was a bargain at Ulta. I also appreciated seeing “no animal testing” on the label.
Moisturizing, yes! It contains coconut oil, glycerin, shea butter, sweet almond oil…there is a nice albeit subtle sheen to the skin after applying it. Not greasy at all. Absorbs well. If you want something creamier or oiler I suggest a body butter from The Body Shop. This dries pretty quickly so, again, I love it in the morning before getting dressed.
“Nourishing” refers to some antioxidants that are included in this formula. Cool. Sounds good to me.
Because this does have a strong vanilla scent, I don’t wear a lot of other perfume with it. If you wear EDT or cologne, I suggest a light spritz of the light foodie variety over this (Jo Malone’s gourmands, for example) rather than Chanel No. 5.
This is a good lotion to use in combination with one of the tropical scented self-tanners as it won’t clash with the coconut or fruity fragrance they use to mask developing DHA. I used it with a spray from Fake Bake and did not observe any tell-tale tanner smell.
All in all, I think it has been a good value and I would definitely buy again. Of the C. Booth fragrances, vanilla is my personal favorite.
