I really like this powder. It’s takes down the shine and sets my makeup but the finish is never too matte. I wear NC13 in MAC’s Studio Fix Powder and the lightest shade of Wowder suits me well. I’m only giving it a 4 out of 5 because of the packaging. The container is adorable but it’s not functional for me. Instead of having an actual closing over the powder there is a netting or mesh. This works well if your powder sits on top of a vanity but it’s awful for travel. Powder leaks into the upper part of the packaging and I usually get too much on my brush. I wish this had packaging like the Bare Minerals powders (a sliding piece of plastic to cover the sifter when not in use). I really love Wowder so I continue to use it, I just don’t take it with me on trips. Hopefully Glossier will change the packaging one day. I will probably repurchase in the future when I have another container to decant it into.

UPDATE 14/11: After using Wowder for a few weeks I’ve figured out a way to make it work for me. I still would not repurchase due to the price tag and fact that it’s really nothing special, but I’ll finish this tub at least!
First, I gave up on the Wowder brush. It just isn’t great and unevenly distributes product. The brush make it very difficult to blend the product because the bristles are not dense enough and the brush unevenly distributes the powder on your face so it is visible and heavy.
What works for me… after putting on my SPF/BB cream, I use a Real Techniques expert face brush to buff the Wowder into my skin. REALLY buffing it into my skin is what made the most difference – Wowder mattifies my skin for a few hours and while it does not keep oil at bay, it melts down to a nice glow by the later afternoon so I look more “dewy” and less “greaseball”. If I need it to last through the evening I’ll apply another layer of Wowder before going out and find it stays through the night.
All in all, Wowder is just OK. I really like the mid-afternoon dewiness it gives my skin (whereas before/without powder I looked GREASY) but I’m not sure it warrants the price tag considering there are plenty of other powders that do the same thing for less $!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: The packaging is the best part about this product. I like that the mesh protects too much product from spilling out at once. That’s it for pros of this product! It is pretty heavy and does nothing to reduce shine/oiliness. It is visible on my skin which is strange – you can see the powder sitting on top of my skin, regardless of which brush I use or how much I blend it. Not impressed with the staying powder at all; I was greasy within an hour of putting this on. I also want to add that I bought the Wowder/Brush combo and the brush is ridiculous. It’s small and VERY mediocre… you’re better off getting one from Real Techniques.

I wear shade G8-G10 to set my G7 foundation and G7 stretch concealer. I do not want more color added, so I used the medium-light powder rather than the G5-G7. A combo of both shades (G*8-G10 and G5-G7 works well too). This is the powder for people like me, who who want a “blur” effect and some blotting, but not a layer of coverage. This powder is the most finely ground, lightweight powder I’ve ever used. It’s easy to travel with this powder because it has a little over over its inside net that keeps powder from escaping, and the price is great. The packaging design is practical and cute, too.

Do not recommend. It isn’t like many other powders I’ve tried that looks weightless and airbrushed. It has a bit of a heavy look because after use I notice that it enhances the look of my poors. Its really strange and weird to describe but it just doesn’t look good like a cheap alternative, the Coty Airspun. Average powder and I’m suprised most people enjoy it.

This powder looks really good when first applied. It’s not chalky or cakey and sets makeup well, though I’ve found that after an hour, it seems to be gone. Unlike most of the other reviewers it seems, I don’t like the packaging of this powder. It’s not messy because the mesh keeps the powder in the jar, but at the same time I find it very hard to get any product out. A brush is impossible to use. I’ve had the best luck with the Laura Mercier powder puff, but even with that I have to press into the mesh over and over. I thought about trying to pry out the sifter, but the packaging is very sturdy so I don’t think that’s possible!

I love the packaging of this powder, the dispenser is like the MUFE HD loose powder. I bought the shade light and it oxidizes quite a bit, and I’m not very pale in summer, but this could definitely be an issue in winter. keeps me matte but not flat for many hours, but I don’t think it’s worth the money. It’s sitting in a dresser of extras.

Packaging excellent for a loose powder with trampoline dispenser. Decent enough powder. Not hugely mattifying but not too cakey. Works well alongside their skin tint.

This is a gorgeous powder and it feels amazing on the skin. Too bad it oxidizes on me. I have pretty oily skin and generally very few items oxidize on me so it was surprising to see this powder oxidize to a nice shade of orange. Unfortunate 🙁 otherwise it is lovely!!

Let me start by saying that I totally understand the negative reviews on this product. It’s not for everyone. My skin is mostly clear and on the dry side. This doesn’t dry me out at all or sink into my skin in a way that accentuates dead skin.
Wowder is light, lightly pigmented, and supposed to be a lightly matte powder. It’s not supposed to cover up discoloration or blemishes! It gives you a bit of a blur. I use this over a very thin layer of Stretch Concealer and Tarte foundation. I apply both on spots where I need a little coverage, then swipe Wowder all over. It gives a great perfecting blur over my usual light layer of makeup and it makes me look put together without being overly made up.

Surprised by the lack of love on this product!
1. Love that it’s sheer and sets my makeup
2. Does not settle into fine lines
3. Reasonable price
4. Does not irritate sensitive skin
