I had read very good reviews about this product and I got very dissatisfied. First, I can’t with the smell. The mineral odor is very strong. Then, it makes my pores look bigger and finally, it doesn’t work for my oily skin.
Good coverage, though and easy to apply.

I need to start off with the packaging because it’s fking ridiculous. I understand that this is loose powder and it will be messy but this design is just soooo inconvenient. In order to get the product out of the container you have to shake it till it comes above the sifter, but it will also get on the bottom of the brush (the white part) and the powder often ends up everywhere when you unscrew to open the container. It is just a very annoying process to repeat multiple times every morning. As the product gets less and less with usage, it becomes even more difficult to get the powder out of the container. What I found to be weird, funny, and even kinda amazing is that in the last month or so of using this product, two pieces of the white plastic that the brush is attached to have broken off one after the other in the exact same way, same size, almost same size, only to the opposite ends of each other, perfectly evenly at each of the “A” as in the “L’OREAL” logo. My guess is that these parts of the plastic is especially weak, but it’s still kinda cool.
Onto the foundation itself, the coverage is decent but it’s pretty drying, a lot of the time I feel as though the powder won’t properly stick to my face (granted I didn’t use a primer while using this product) and hardly blends in, resulting in a cakey finish. Well, at least it’s mattifying. Doesn’t take long to see excessive oil though, and I use a setting powder, but my skin is very oily by nature.
The brush is ok, I use it the whole time while using the product, maybe I should’ve used a different brush and the results might be different.
In addition, It took me a long time to compare and decide on a shade before buying this product but then the color still came out wrong, natural beige W4-5 and it is way too dark, my face is naturally lighter than my neck and this shade matches or is even darker than my neck. maybe the problem isn’t just the shade but also that I’m not warm-toned, I’m not sure about that either. This doesn’t affect my rating because I know it’s a mistake on my part. Also, I did notice that as the product oxidizes later in the day it actually became more natural-looking (not necessarily darker), perhaps it’s just the oil blending in with the cakey surface of my skin.
All in all, this isn’t a product that I will return to.

I’ve bought variations of this before, maybe a decade ago when it first came out, when there was more of a mineral makeup craze launching. I sort of liked it then, but wanted more coverage, so I didn’t return to it.
In the years since I’ve tried to get away from makeup products that have fragrance, and limit silicones, etc. I’ve tried other mineral foundations and when I was running low I happened to have a CVS coupon so I thought I’d give it another go.
Am I thrilled with this? No. I’m not disappointed, either, but just sort of okay with it.
The good points:
One, I do like some of L’Oreal’s foundations and I like that they consider undertones (I lean toward the neutrals) so this doesn’t look too pink or too yellow on me, considering, and it doesn’t oxidize.
Two, it has sunscreen in it, and not a chemical one. I prefer zinc or titanium oxides for sun protection, and this fits that bill. (I still use some other sunscreen with it, however, since this isn’t enough.)
Three, it has a decent amount of product in it (0.35 oz/10 g), so with a coupon, or shopping somewhere that has better prices on drugstore cosmetics, the price isn’t bad for a mineral foundation.
Four, it doesn’t irritate my skin.
Five, there’s no fragrance.
There are also a few things I don’t care for with this either.
One, it is a bit pricey (for drugstore, depending) where it can be close to $15.
Two, I’m not wild about the packaging. The brush is decent in that it’s not a tiny little brush, but I’m just not wild about unscrewing the top to get the foundation and using the brush with it. If I’m at home I tend to use a different brush; otherwise if I’m on the go, the brush that comes with it will do.
Three, it’s not the greatest coverage. I’ve tried applying this with a big brush all over, or a small brush in trouble spots. I’ve tried building it up, and there’s not much happening when I do. As a result I use it mainly as a finishing powder to just buff and blur slightly, and figure I’m getting extra sun protection in the process. If it’s a good skin day this is okay, but otherwise I’m going to use the stronger (better coverage) stuff first or instead.

I have used this powder on and off since it came out. They have changed the name a number of times and the color selection shrunk. As far as the quality goes, it is one of the best. As far as the color selection goes, thankfully, N4-5 is a great shade for me. The biggest problem with this foundation, even in its original name, is the container. Whoever came up with the complicity of the container and brush was on drugs. A simple bottle with a top, without a brush, would have been more desirable. I am just hoping that they don’t discontinue the product but I can definitely do without the container. These minerals are also expensive considering the drugstore label on them but in reality, drugstore products are all now on the expensive side compared to for example, Sephora brand. Highly recommended for all skin types.

I wear this everyday. It makes my skin look flawless. I don’t like the brush lid thing that’s on it. I use my own powder brush. It adds a nice amount of color to my face that’s pale due to wearing sunscreen daily. It looks great on my skin and lasts all day. It’s not amazing at controlling shine but it’s not terrible. I like it a lot!

10-2017: I’m not using Milani (like $8.00)….best foundation on earth. No coverage like it. not cakey and they updated their shades for pale gals! TRY IT
EDIT: 7-10-17…BISMUTH BROKE ME OUT SO BAD I CAN’T BELIEVE IT….Bismuth was like the last ingredient but after a few weeks of loving this, I broke out so bad on lower cheeks where I NEVER break out…I had like eight huge cystic pimples.. I should learn….can never wear anything with Bismuth….Lots of L’oreal’s liquid foundations have it too….NEVER AGAIN>
This review is for the LOreal True Match Mineral foundation. There seems to be a few different names but the photo in this review is what I have. maybe they have changed things over time. I hadn’t tried this before because of the bismuth and worried about breakups but its so far down the ingredient list it doesnt bother me. THIS IS THE BEST POWDER FOUNDATION OR FOUNDATION OUT THERE….PERIOD. I USE THIS OVER my Neutrogena Skin Enhancer for something for the power to grab a little. i have about NC 15 skin…maybe a tad darker and I use this in Light Ivory/W!-2. In the bottle, I wish it had more yellow looking at it, but once on, it matches perfectly! It doesnt cling to dry patches….doesnt glop up….and stays naturally matte most of the day. Very long wearing. Does a good job hiding pores . EVERY other powder foundation I have EVER tried, settles into my pores and looks horrible. This is the best for that. You can layer it on and never ever cakey….It’s absolutely a shock how great this is! The dispenser isn’t great…I just tap it upside down and apply with my brush. I have had compliments. I was using a liquid before this and it was “okay”, but after using this, I think I have found my holy grail. I don’t have to blot either!
It’s fabulous. There are other reviews out there for other L’oreal powders but if you get this exact one…like the photo, this is the one I’m reviewing! It has super great pigment and covers like no other liquid or powder foundation i have ever used….and it looks so natural and doesnt feel heavy! i’m still in shock why i didnt try this long long ago. Please L’oreal….don’t change this one!…You got it right! ANd it was like 12.00…..super great bargain. It will last a long time as the coverage is great and pigmented…and does NOT oxidize at all….another novel idea! Thank you Loreal…I hope you read these reviews! I would give it 10 lippies if I could!

I have been searching high and low for some way to mitigate the redness of my nose. I don’t have rosacea or eczema or any other conditions (no allergies and I don’t drink), but I do have a red nose. I have tried every combination of green color correctors, regular foundations, tinted moisturizers, spot cover ups, etc., etc. Almost everything just seems to settle into my pores giving me a red nose with polka dots. This L’oreal true match mineral foundation powder is the ONLY thing that helps! I first use a little NYX pore filler, then lightly apply this mineral foundation to my nose (using an E.L.F. brush) and that seems to work. It works better than anything else I’ve tried. I still use my Nars tinted moisturizer for the rest of my face, but only use these two products on my nose. Hope this helps other members of the red nose club!

Love this! The brush it comes with sucks but when used with a big fluffy bush it gives a natural glowing finish to the skin but still covers redness & light acne scarring. Can cling to dry patches so prep your skin correctly with moisturizer and its fine. I use the shade golden ivory which is yellow based. When i’m tanned I still use this shade, I just dust bronzer all over for a darker look because I don’t like the next darker shade as it tends to look orange. Can get a little oily after a few hours but that doesn’t bother me much. Id rather be dewy than matte. Definitely re purchasing when it runs out.

Like most women I have two seasons to my skin – Fall/Winter when it gets a little dry and Spring/Summer when it gets a little moisture and can get oily. For the drier times, I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation and for the times when I have more moisture to my skin, I use L’Oreal Paris True Match Mineral Foundation.
Cons
The packaging stinks, the little brush they give you stinks and it is messy if you use it as they tell you. Well, with what I said, why would you want to use it? Well, because it really covers well and lasts. With some small adjustments, it will work like charm and become your favorite too!
Pros
It has the things I want from my foundation:
1. It covers well and coverage is buildable;
2. It covers evenly;
3. The coverage lasts;
4. No annoying sparkly stuff; and
5. Doesn’t settle into any fine lines.
Adjustments that make it work perfectly:
1. Buy an ELF Kabuki brush – they are cheap about $6 – That spreads it like a charm and so evenly;
2. Take a lid from a jar – like a mayo or peanut butter lid or even something like the plastic cup from a Delmonte Fruit Cocktail cup. Use that to sprinkle the foundation into. Go lightly with sprinkling, because a little foundation goes a long way.
3. Lightly dip your ELF Kabuki in the lid with some foundation and lightly tap the kabuki over the lid to release any extra foundation.
4. Spread and you will be amazed.
5. And there will be no messy mineral foundation all over the place.
Enjoy. I love it!

I’m writing the review for “true match mineral foundation” in this link:
Highly recommend this foundation (I’ve used a lot, both higher end and drugstore).
Color: NC20-25 -> W1-2 for this
Pros:
1. Buildable coverage
2. Really nice satin finish, looks like your skin is glowing but not too much.
3. Staying power is good.
4. Not as drying as other powder foundations.
Cons:
Packaging is bad. I never used the brush that comes with it… but besides that, it’s really good stuff, especially at this price.
