La mer!!!this company infuriates me in so many levels
From the mediocre ingredients they are using in their skincare to the their marketing ploy…
This is the replacement for the old la mer the powder
When la mer saw the hype for the old version they decided to “reformulate ”
That meant they reduce it from 25 grams to 8 miserable grams !!!
But they jacked up the price from 65 usd to 90 usd!!
Please people dont let those company scam us like this
The old version wasn’t anything mind blowing (the translucent one)Too much glitters
And this version is not any better !!
If you want luxury powder with some luminescence try the Hourglass loose powder or the la Prairie loose powder
Both are cruelty free and are coming with better prices and amounts than Lamer(Hourglass 10.5 grams and la prairie a whooping 56 grams)

Well I finallly got to try this. I was so hoping it would be the miraculous and gorgeous product as described in reviews, but for me it was a big letdown. I respect other people’s love for it, but from my point of view, as someone who has used many face powders, this is not that good. It has glitter – microglitter – lots of it. The glitter seems to go away after a few minutes but then there’s nothing. I didn’t get any amazing, glowing finish at all. Therefore I don’t think it is worth the $125. Also, the powder puff was nothing special. It was exactly the same as the puffs in other loose powder. (At least as far as I could tell). I have been using Physician’s Formula for a long time and will stick with it.

So finally I got my hands on this amazing loose powder. I used light reflecting setting loose powder from Nars for many years and I really love it, but from the first use of this La Mer miracle I was immediately sold. This is really powder of my dreams. It works like magic on the skin, flawless airbrushed finish (even I have some post acne red marks now and I have to cover them with concealer and foundation of course, but this powder really helps to make them almost invisible). You never look too matte, it leaves a tiny subtle glow to the skin. And despite this it has really amazing oil control (I have oily T zone, needed repowder after about 5 hours, with La Mer my skin looks wonderful for 8 hours). It works perfect as setting concealer under my eyes. Doesn’t dry out my under eye and it perfectly blurs and brightens. It gives subtle sparkle for a natural brightening glow, and never looks cakey no matter how much I pack on. What I don’t like is the thick heavy glass jar (anyway very luxurious but I wish they use the less heavy glass, very uncomfortable for travelling). It’s really expensive (twice more expensive than Nars) but I think it will last long time. It’s so perfect that after you try it on your face, there is no way back 🙂 you’ll fall in love.

There are powders and then there are POWDERS!
What is in this powder? The finish is incredible, even i ,who love make-up and has tried a lot products was suprised.
It is almost so good that whatever foundation you use will look good, because of the powder!
It doesnt leave any shimmer and it just makes my skin look wonderful,as close too perfect as possible.
The downside is the price ….but it is so good that once i tried it,i cant go back too using what i used.

I adore this powder. I literally love it. I’ve used so so many loose powders Laura Mercier, Chanel, Lancome, Coty Airspun and many more. This is truly lovely. It reminds me a little of the Chanel Poudre Crystalline that was discontinued years ago though I find this is better. The first day I applied it my partner commented that my face looked more slender. If you look at the powder in the jar in daylight you can see a slight fine glitter in it. Don’t let that put you off when applied to the skin it is not glittery it just gives an angelic glow to the skin like nothing else I’ve ever come across. The packaging is so darn gorgeous & the included puff is so cute I don’t use it I keep it in an old eye cream box to keep it nice. I’m so happy with this powder I’ve just ordered the fluid foundation I can’t wait to try it. So far I’ve used this to set my under eye and face and used it to bake. It works beautifully for each method. This powder is stunning & worth every penny. It just blends so seamlessly into the skin in the skin, Like how ordinary powders do after a spritz of Fix+. I would never consider using a powder without a fixing spray but this powder you really could forgo the spray. Though I will continue to use Fix+ as I love how it melds my contour. blush, shadow & highlight. If you want to add a truly luxurious effective powder to your arsenal then try this powder. You won’t be dissapointed. You know it’s good when your man see’s a difference and compliments your make up un prompted.
Update; I have actually started to find that this creases a and looks a little dry under my eyes on hotter days. I will update as I play with it more.

So I’ve debated for quite a long time whether to buy this or not because of the price and whether or not it would really live up to the reviews. I went into Selfridges and tried it for myself and to be honest having a little tried on my face I couldn’t really see much difference and I thought it looked slightly glittery even in natural daylight but I went for it anyway and thought i’l try it at home properly when I’ve got my full face of make up on and I can now see why it’s so expensive. It really does feel like you have nothing on your face at all. First of all it doesn’t leave a white cast and secondly, you can’t tell you have powder on it’s that silky. It mattifies the skin perfectly without looking cakey. For a couple of years I’ve been looking for the perfect powder that doesn’t leave my face looking powdery and flat and I’ve had no luck. I tried all the high end powders with my most recent one being Laura Mercier translucent powder but that just didn’t give me the look I wanted so I’m really happy that I’ve found this one that does everything I want and more. I haven’t noticed the glitteriness on my face since I’ve been using it. The packaging looks and feels expensive being in a heavy glass jar, I also think this will last me quite a long time as it’s a decent size. It comes complete with a high quality powder puff if you choose to use one, I personally think it’s too nice to use. I purchased The Powder brush also and I’m so in love with it, it’s such a perfect size for powdering your face and the feel of it just oozes high quality, it’s definitely a brush worth investing in if your after a good quality brush that will last a long time.
So, overall I think this powder is definitely something worth having if you prefer a more natural look over the top of your make up without looking cakey. I haven’t tried baking with it so I’m yet to see how it performs but I have every faith in it working just as well as it works on the rest of my face. Although this product is expensive it’s not hard to see why. The quality is second to none and there’s nothing else like it in terms of how well it works. So if like me your undecided about purchasing it, just buy it because you won’t be disappointed. I’m surprised there isn’t more reviews now the powder has been relaunched after discontinuing.
