I’ve been experimenting with powder foundations; at 52, I like the way they wear off gracefully and blur imperfections. I’ve been happy with Benefit and especially happy with Wander, but I consider Armani a foundation master, and decided to try this.
Shades are tough; I think this must be aimed at the Asian market. The best level of deepness for me was 5.5, but it was rather too peach. The product is transparent enough so that it wasn’t a big deal.
Packaging is gorgeous, as you would expect. This is a sort of Candleglow finish; not as much as Hourglass Dim Light, but getting there. I prefer a more matte/satin finish, but this is pretty if that’s what you’re after. My issue was the lack of coverage and ability to layer. It’s really a finishing powder, rather than a foundation. I found that I couldn’t dab more over an imperfection to blur it-I just ended up with more powder, not more coverage. It’s a beautiful product; just not the one for me.

I read about this powder in Hello Magazine in an interview with Cate Blanchett, where she mentioned that when she doesn’t have time for make up, she quick and easily applies this foundation. After reading many reviews and then a quick test myself at Sephora, I bought 4 – beige. The colour is perfect for my skin tone, which is a rarity as I’m often “mis-diagnosed” and end up with the wrong colour. I have light to medium complexion with yellow undertones, and several darker sunspots which really throw off finding a good match.
The only reason this is a 4 star and not 5 is literally because of its cost and I don’t feel enough product is given for this kind of money. I’ve had my compact for 7 days and there is a sizable dent in it and I’ve been using sparingly.
Onto the good stuff despite the expense…
I like to use full coverage foundation both liquid and powder to cover my sun spots (unlike Cate Blanchett :), but find it can look a bit dry or artificial at times (as I am in the same age category as Cate). But with the Giorgio Armani Neo Nude Fusion Powder, it totally transforms my face! It has a subtle ‘luminous’ effect, that provides coverage and ads more of a youthful, dewy look to the skin and really lasts all day. Topped off with the Morphe setting spray (something I refuse to live without).
After 3 days of use, I also had my sister-in-law trying and buying it too!
My recommendation is to try it first, find the right colour and see if you love it as much as I do.

I wear this in 6.5. I use this alone as my foundation. It’s luminous, brightening, and wears well. It lasts through HIIT class without fading, streaking or oxidizing. I apply this with my Wayne Goss brush and for me it’s a solid win. Already purchased a back-up just in case it’s discontinued. For me, it’s better than Luminous Silk powder foundation.

I purchased this based on the great reviews both on Makeupalley and Nordstrom. I did get it for 20% discount with the GA sale.
I find it as an average powder but nothing special. The packaging is huge and will never make it into my small crossbody purse. It is anything but compact.
For me, it does an okay job finishing after the GA luminous silk foundation. I don’t find a super blurring effect or anything great. It does have tiny specks of glitter to provide glow which didn’t show on me. I do like a good overall powder to finish, set and touch up during the day. This one is just meh so I’m sending it back.
My absolute favorite compact is by Terry. It is ridiculously expensive and a very small compact for the price. However, for me it is worth it – gives a natural, super soft finish that doesn’t accentuate wrinkles or mature skin. It really just does blurs things and helps the foundation to last longer. Another great one is the Clinique Almost Powder – cheaper and still really nice.
Although the by Terry is very expensive, it is definitely a cut above the rest and worth it. I always look for a discount with Dermstore.

I originally went to the GA counter to try on their now discontinued liquid bronzer. I was very weary of bronzers that were too orange, or just too dark for my skintone, and GA is my go-to for base products. While trying the liquid bronzer, the sale associate also showed me how I could use these new Neo Nude powders as a bronzer as well. While I did not buy it on the spot, it left quite an impression on me, and I could not forget how beautiful the finish was. I tried it on another occasion, and I was sold. I purchased two shades: one to use as a finishing powder, and one to use as a bronzer. Before we go on, let me first apologize for my overuse of the word “glow” in the rest of my review.
The idea of this powder reminds me of the Chanel Les Beiges one – a no makeup makeup/glowy type of product. The GA version is more glowy I think, and if you ask me exactly what makes it so special, I’d be hard pressed to say. But the powder applies and blends beautifully, and its the perfect finishing touch. It adds a beautiful glow, almost like a beauty filter. It just amps up whatever makeup you’re already wearing. It is just gorgeous for a glowy summer look. I also feel like the finish of this powder is everything I wanted the Hourglass ambient powders to be, except on my fair skin, the colors of the HG powders didn’t work on me.
Armani has this to say about their product: “During formulation, water within the powder evaporates, leaving a powder texture behind. Upon contact with the natural moisture found within the skin, the process is reversed: the powder transforms into a veil-like liquid that becomes one with the skin, avoiding harsh lines, smears or caking over time. A second patent* allows a soft weightless powder – so thin it appears invisible.” I agree that this product does not look powdery or obvious. They also say that you can do as many touch ups as you want. I never usually do more than one touch up a day, but I would agree that my makeup still looks nice when I do (not heavy or cakey).
The only thing I don’t particularly like about the packaging is the beige coloured top. It feels like those anti-slip gel pads, so it sticks to other smooth surfaces which is a minor nuisance. Otherwise, it looks nice, it has a nice mirror, and it comes with a half-moon brush that is not great, but will do the job for light touchups on the go. It’s pricey, as you would expect from GA, but I believe refills are available so you don’t have to shell out extra money for packaging every time. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a luminous finishing powder!

I hadn’t been excited about Armani makeup in years, this Neo Nude Fusion Powder was an impulse purchase. I loved the nude tone matching the foundation shade on the packaging and the feel to it and got it.
This to me beats the Luminous Silk Powder Foundation in terms of formula and finish, it gives you a bit of coverage, amazing luminosity without looking greasy and this gives you that effortless and coveted no-makeup, makeup look.
I only don’t give it a higher rating because of the half-moon brush that sure it enhances the product’s aim at being portable but the brush just doesn’t do it for me. I generally apply it with something like the MAC 187 stippling brush for a natural like finish. It photographs gorgeously in the daytime, however, if you use flash and are in a dark environment it seems to give a bit of flashback, you look lit from within gorgeous but I think it’s the drawback of the light reflecting particles. The performance of this product reminds me of what I wanted the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish to be like.
I apply liquid and cream products on top of this without disturbing the overall appearance of this foundation and it lasts me decently throughout the day. Great product for Summer.
I also would advise you not to layer this product a lot as it might leave you looking a bit powder and you lose the natural finish that is the goal of this powder foundation.
It doesn’t make me break out and it doesn’t oxidize on my skin.
