I have almost – almost – forgiven Sephora for discontinuing my shade twice in the many years I have used a version of this product. I liked the cost, degree of coverage, ease of use and (once) very good shade match. Most recently, I layer the closest match (warm tan or golden fawn) over a Chanel liquid foundation to achieve the shade and coverage I want.
Compared to its immediate predecessor, Sephora’s latest version offers less coverage and wears away faster. My biggest beef, however, is the newer, return-to-round packaging, which is AWFULLY AWFUL. THREE of these have shattered in the pan, each within the 3 months of use, compared to 1 of the old design (which dropped down a stairwell). Fwiw, I promise that I don’t live much differently now than I did in the past decade. This product is compact but does not purse-travel well. All in all, it’s time for me to look into other options. NOTE: original review accidentally posted under old product – my bad.

I use this product in the shade Mocha Spice and as a contour. It’s really soft, blendable, and buildable. I’m light tan so I can’t use this as foundation but I love using it as a bronzer. It makes my skin look so healthy and beautiful. Sometimes I use it as an eyeshadow too. Very long lasting. Had it for almost a year and use it daily and I still have a lo of product left. The staying power is good too. Lasts all day. Sometimes, if my skin is really oily, it doesn’t last as long but you just need a quick touch up. Not all makeup lasts over 8 hours so I didn’t have that as an expectation. Love this product!

This product is just “ok” in my opinion. I bought the Fair Pink shade which was a pretty spot-on match for my skin colour, but I was disappointed in the low level of coverage and how powdery my face looked under bright lighting. The plus was that it didn’t get excessively oily and felt pretty lightweight on my skin. I’ll keep this as a backup, but I don’t think I’ll continue to use it as my primary foundation.

The color in the compact seems to change when applied on your face. It oxidizes, too. I turned orange immediately! I’m on my second shade and about to exchange it for another one. After my 3rd attempt, I’ll give up.

Didn’t work at all for me but I could see that it might for normal/maybe even dry-ish skin. It had zero oil control and became very shiny very quickly. I noticed a little oxidizing but the color 08 Fair Neutral was truly perfect at first (I’m close to NW20). Also had very light, sheer coverage. Returned and exchanged for my beloved MUFE Duo Mat – why did I stray?!

I was helped by a Sephora associate to choose out this powder when I went in looking for a powder foundation that would be good for my oily skin and have great coverage. She matched me to colour 06 which was a perfect match.
When I got home and tried it out the next morning (w concealer underneath) it looked amazing and matched me perfectly….. but **literally within 30 seconds** of putting it on, it oxidized to about 2-3 shades darker.
I really love this powder and it was exactly what I was looking for, but the weird oxidizing was really bad and I ended up exchanging it for a different brand’s powder. Really disappointed, as it was the perfect powder for me and the lighter shade was way too pink (they only had down to 04 in store).
PROS-
-great coverage
-matte finish (that turned more natural/satin as the day went on)
-super pigmented, I could see this powder lasting you a long time
-lasts a long time on my oily skin
CONS-
-OXIDIZES LIKE CRAZY!!! and within a minute after I put it on which was very strange

I really like this! I apply this over my foundation and it gives a beautiful matte finish. I apply this with the sponge included to give more coverage as my liquid foundation is only medium coverage. I have really oily skin so I have to reapply every 5 to 6 hours but that doesn’t bother me. And its very affordable! Its only 20 dollars and the Lancome powder foundation I used to use is almost 40 dollars. I’m impressed and I will repurchase when it runs out.

I love this stuff. I have it in the shade 08/Fair Neutral and will probably switch to 02/Porcelain Neutral as I get paler during the winter. I have always enjoyed powder foundations for their ease and speed of application and I have 5 or 6 different ones that I really like. One of my “go to’s” is from IT Cosmetics but IT only comes in 5 or possibly 6 shades, while Sephora’s comes in 35 shades though not all the stores have all the shades). Secondly, I can purchase Sephora’s in store; with IT, I have to purchase on the Shopping Channel and pay shipping and handling and those prices have risen steadily over the years. So the Sephora powder, while somewhat smaller, is still a much better value. And I love it – it is quick and easy to apply and gives enough coverage to hide my redness and make my skin look even and healthy. It is not so matte as to make my skin look dry – it’s just a nice, natural finish, though certainly not “dewy” but also not dry or parched looking. I use a Sephora #45 brush to apply and I love the results. You can also use the enclosed sponge to apply this for more coverage but I’m happy with the results I get using the brush.

So I’ve been using this product, pretty much daily for a few weeks now, I think it had JUST launched at my local Sephora when I noticed it on the Sephora Collection display. And themn, I saw it. THE SHADE. THE PERFECT, LIGHT NEUTRAL/SLIGHTLY YELLOW POWDER FOUNDATION OF MY DREAMS. 02 Porcelain Neutral. They went ALL OUT covering their bases with the shades. There are loads of extreme light and dark shades and tones to choose from and I am sure they will come out with more in the next little while if the shade range is not fully complete. SC usually ends up adding a handful of shades later on, when the collections pick up steam.
The only things I dislike about it is this:
Quantity–You only get 7.5g of product. Where at MAC you get about double that and it’s not even $10 CAD more.
Finish–I kind of wish the finish was a little more luminous-matte/satin-matte rather than just matte.
One small thing I would change about it is: The magnetic clasp. I prefer a solid snap clasp on compacts. But that’s just me.
Overall, I REALLY like this powder, and I do intend to repurchase again and again. Please Sephora, don’t ever discontinue this!

This is okay.
The good: reasonable price, large range of shades, decent (medium) coverage, haven’t noticed any oxidation or breakouts/irritation. I like the packaging and the included puff. It’s squishy.
There isn’t anything bad about it per se, it’s just underwhelming. Doesn’t melt into skin like my favorite mineral powders do, and longevity and oil control are medium at best. Overall it looks pretty good – the finish is a nice matte but can sometimes look too powdery. I’ve found that the shades swatch darker than they look.
I picked this up as a convenient alternative to sifter jars of powder, and it didn’t do much for me personally, but it’s not a bad product and still worth trying. It’s definitely better than a lot of godawful powder foundations out there.
