   This isn’t bad but the original is so much better. The Original Bareminerals has Bismuth in it, which scared me and I hadn’t tried it for years due to that….but I have realized as long as I used something first, ie tinted moisturizer, I can wear this foundation even though it has Bismuth in it….(bismuth can cause pimples for me)….So I can tell you that the Original has SO MUCH MORE COVERAGE with a much smaller amount of product….the Matte just looks kinda flat…the Original which is my HOLY GRAIL forever, has Super staying power…makes you look so healthy…not flat…not oily….just healthy….So i would try the original and skip the matte, especially if you are looking for natural super great coverage.

   I really wanted to like this. Finally BM included a neutral undertone to their deep shades. Finally. So off I trot to buy shade 29 Neutral Deep. Such a great colour for my lower 1/3 of my face and perimeter (the middle parts has a yellow undertone and NYX SMNF in nutmeg is fine).

   I wear this product and I’m getting tiny red spots on my cheeks. I do not put 2 & 2 together for a long time, only once I stopped wearing base make up for a while…. not have the spots. Then took it up only a few days ago. Boom fresh acne. It was with a fresh brush and every thing.

   I looked up the ingredients and the laural lysine or something or other, used as a conditioning agent, is from coconut fatty acid. If your skin reacts to coconut oil, well it will not like this powder foundation.

   Such a shame as the original foundation is fine but too shiny on my face. I already have a natural glow.

   I used bareminerals as a Teenager but then I discovered YouTube tutorials and as everyone used liquid foundations I thought that is the way to go. I spent $$$$$ on pretty much every hyped foundation, primer and powder but nothing was what I want from my face makeup. I am now back to my bareminerals loose powders and wonder why ever stopped using it?

   About my skin: Nc10, 27 with no fine lines just some under my eyes, very oily tzone and normal cheeks, large pores on the forehead and around the nose and very large deep pores on my nostrils, I dont break out usually but I have a bit of redness and some scars in my chin from my teenage years.

   I use the original in fairly light (but the original is not the best for large pores) and the matte in fair and fairly light mixed.

   The matte foundation does have a very nice satin matte finish on me. Never flat or dry and I
   it does sit very nice over my pores. I dont think anything will keep an oily skin matte for a whole day but this stays matte for a good time and most important it fades nice. I just blot the oils away and buff over everything again with my brush when I touch up. I can add a layer on top and I does not cake but I like to mix a bit of foundation with Mineral veil in a smal Container (I use a empty bareminerals bisque container) when I want to touch up the coverage to sheer the product out a bit.

   I think key is a good skincare. Mineral foundation always shows me when I was lazy! You have to keep your skin hydrated and use a peeling when needed.

   For primer I prefer water based primers or just a bit mineral veil powder under and over the foundation. My foundation slides of pretty quick with heavy silicone primers.

   Dry skin could benefit from an face oil or an oily primer as minerals work best with a bit of oil. Oily Girls and Boys will get that look during the day. I think the foundation Looks best after about 30 minutes on me and it does continue to Look better and better.

   For concealer I like to use bisque or the original foundation. Liquid concealer should be used bevor the powders. But I have used liquid highlighters or Blush over the foundation and it looked nice. You can use a finishing spray bevor using creams over your minerals.

   For tools you have to find something that does not give you microexfoliation. You have to build and buff the foundation. Just use a tiny amount at a time, swirl your brush 10-15 seconds, tap off and then buff it on your skin. Dont press the brush hard on your skin be very gentle. I use tapping and stroking motions when I have flakes on my skin (just make sure you swirl your brush long in the product to warm it up bc. the minerals change from powder to a much more creamy product when they are warmed up). For best coverage use a dense brush. I like the Baby flat top Kabuki from everyday minerals or the angled flat top Kabuki from zoeva, bareminerals has nice brushes. I think a natural Hair brush works best with mineral foundation as it warms the product up faster but synthetic brushes are softer just look what works best for you.
   But a powder puff or sponge can work to!!! I like the flocked sponge from Lily Lolo (I think you can find something similar in every drugstore). I sometimes use a damp brush/sponge with my foundation as a concealer.

   I would recommend to set everything. The bareminerals original mineral veil is nice. But any powder will work.. matte or luminous whatever you prefer.
   I dont use finishing sprays on my oily skin as I get a bit more time bevor I have to blot my skin without but I like fixing sprays (the one in the silver can from cover fx that is for very strong hold is nice as it is alcohol free).
   Dry skin might enjoy a finishing spray like mac fix plus or even a thermal water spray.

   Dont be affraid of mixing your powders! I mix it with powder to sheer it out, with luminous powders to make it glowy, with powder colour correctors or even with moisturizer to make a tinted moisturizer with Spf.

   Just play and try different techniques and tools. Mineral foundation does work a bit different than powder foundations. If you want full coverage I highly recommend you to get yourself bisque and layer it just where needed under and over your foundation.

   This looks and feels chalky on my oily skin. I used this with primer and moisturizer and felt that it didn’t look natural no matter what. I think the original looks much better.

   To the bone I am a liquid-foundation girl, however, because of my (then) new job I really enjoyed the idea of a buff and go routine that looked natural. This stuff does look natural, but for me, a tad bit dry-looking and because of this, I wouldn’t repurchase. It has a decent amount of coverage and an okay staying power, but for me doesn’t cut the mustard. I would however recommend trying it if you are a fan of loose powder or lighter foundations!

   Thought I had already reviewed this but I hadn’t. I’ve been wearing it now for about 3 years after being diagnosed with rosacea and my doc recommending mineral make-up. It contains no talc, which is bad for us rosaceans. I really like it. You pay alot initially when you buy it (along with blush and concealer) but it is SO worth the money. The reason I went with the matte formula is that it doesn’t contain bismuth oxychloride, which is also supposed to be an irritant for us rosaceans. I was color-matched to Fair, which completely blew my mind because my daughter, who is fairer than I, wore that color. But low and behold, it was a perfect match. I am a natural redhead but had been coloring my hair red for years and after surgery last year, when I couldn’t color it for a couple of months, I saw that when I DID color it, my gray hair was so resistant that I decided to get it heavily highlighted and let it grow natural. Good decision! I love the color I am and it has opened me up to a color range that I couldn’t have worn before. I was given a jar of the Fairly Medium and I wear that in the spring and summer. I’ve just bought myself a deluxe size of the original foundation in Fair and I am hoping that it goes well. I got it on a super deal from a Bare and Beauty Boutique (outlet store) and it was purchased after Christmas 2017. I also noticed that they had started marketing the matte formula for people with oily skin and that, I do not have. So, we shall see!

   I wanted to like this foundation, but unfortunately it made me break out pretty bad. I’ve been using a foundation for years from a small online company (Faerie Organic) because my skin is very acne-prone and it was the only foundation that didn’t cause breakouts, but their matte foundation is not very matte. I got sick of the shiny look by the end of the day and most of it would be rubbed off after a full day. They also don’t have the best shade selection so I decided to try this. I found the perfect shade for me in Golden Nude. It gave my skin a beautiful matte look that lasted for hours, but after about a week I noticed breakouts all over my face, including around my jawline and neck where I applied the invisible pressed bronzer from this brand. The bronzer also has the exact same ingredients and anytime I used that, I also broke out. I was surprised this caused breakouts because the ingredients seemed simple enough, but I did some research and the ingredient Lauroyl Lysine is known to cause breakouts in acne prone skin. It is a coconut derived emollient so if coconut oil breaks you out, this most likely will. I gave this a 3 since I did love the way it looked on my skin, but it ultimately makes my skin look worse so I can’t rate it better than that. Remove that one ingredient and this would be a great product. Even though I can’t use this, I decided to keep it because I loooove the packaging! I emptied the product and refilled it with my new discovered foundation that has not caused any breakouts, Alima Pure. Their selection of color choices is amazing and the matte foundation is truly matte and holds up well at the end of the day.

   I wish I could write a good review about this powder. I have combination skin that gets really oily in the tzone, the pros are that it has good coverage, the shade matches my NC25 skin perfectly without oxidizing, kept my skin pretty matte through the workday. BUT this made me breakout like no body’s business!!! I had one to two giant acne every single day. Initially I couldn’t figure out what was going on but now I know it was this powder. I really wanted to like this but now I’ll be spending the next few weeks getting rid of this acne and then hoping the scars fade.

   Summary: There is a reason why bare minerals is not mention for its complexion products, I wanted to love it but it is absolutely TRASH. Honestly, loreal true match is much better than this and half the cost

   Pro:
   – Decent Colour range
   – Fine powder

   Cons:
   – Patchy application, once it sits it’s quite hard to move
   – doesnt work well on top of liquid foundation
   – doesnt work well on oily skin
   – lasts about 3 hours
   – Highly transferable

    Wanted to love this so badly. Having extremely sensitive skin, everything about this foundation seemed like a godsend. I went with the “Matte” formula specifically, as I had heard that the original formula broke a lot of people out. However, this broke me out anyway. I’m devastated, to say the least. Packaging, price, minimalistic nature… all incredible. Wish it didn’t break me out.
