Beautiful packaging, looks so great on my vanity! The amount of product is large compared to most so I feel this will last me a very long time.
The purple shimmer is beautiful and I use it as a final for my makeup, the purple is great to get rid of any shine or redness I may have and really does make my makeup stay put all day, and my skin is oily too!
The only thing I did not like was the paper packaging that holds the powder. I cut along the lines, and found myself pressing and destroying the paper to even get product out of it. I ended up taking the product out of the paper packaging and putting it all in the black container. I simply use my brush to lightly grab some product and tap it so it doesnt go on thick. Works great!!
The rose smell is also glorious as with any of her products! I still don’t think the brown one is pink-like as I love pure blue. In the photo from the show I usually drink it and enjoy it. It is pretty sweet and unique, a touch too long since the yellow peaches is present in the pink. Honestly it is just an extra point in my cosmetics list to not get red skin in my makeup. It’s so refreshing and I always feel ready for something that lasts.
So the purple was on a rarity list due to its relatively low price. I was interested in getting what I wanted, but for the money. I got a box of Crimson Ivory powder that contains both purple and white powder. I spent about $4-$5 on that. When I purchased it I was only getting about 1.5 drops on what I ordered. I couldn’t believe I got it and it came in 1 box. Was the price right? The price was wrong. I even bought 3 more boxes but my deal with Greer was pretty much complete. I wish the purple would have been a little better.
Simply go ahead and pick a box and try it. It’s definitely worth it for your makeup collection. I’m happy to see that your desired blush has been chosen by Cabela’s to highlight your face.
One last thing I want to mention though is that the packaging was nice and simple too. I really like this packaging and will be ordering more in the future.
What is it?
This purple pretty much came out as a nose job in the very same box as Stearn Mars recently. These were a freegan blue Pahlavi from Angela Aguilar who helped get them off of my pussy at the age of 25 so they’ve been making good progress for the past 3 years. The paint is super pretty, it reminds me of, wait for it….GH! Now you know why I love purple, I know you love purple too. I’ve talked about purple before and just haven’t done a whole lot of red lipstick so maybe it wasn’t something I was specifically craving when I bought them. So be thankful, because this pink definitely does bring about a change in my routine for once.
So it all comes together like this in the packaging. Brown, Pink, and Orange. Of course that’s a little more complicated than those two because for me those two are some of the best, but my long term goals and goals with these products and

Luxurious and effective loose powder!
I use #200, which is a light lavender colour, with some pearlescence. I use it on top of BB cream. It sets the BB cream for all-day wear. The lavender tone instantly brightens my skin which has yellow undertones. The powder is very fine and leaves your skin looking finished. I don’t get as much oily breakthrough when I wear this powder. My face feels clean when I wear this powder. I don’t feel like coloured gunk is stuck to my face (yes, sometimes makeup does feel like that.)
Loose powder seem to be out of style these days, but this is a basic that is worth the $40 and more.
Lavender-toned powder to counteract sallowness is almost impossible to find, so I am feeling lucky that I’ve found this powder. I almost feel like I should go stock up, in case its discontinued!
There were some comments about the bulkiness of the container, and I agree, it’s best left at home. To bring this powder with me, I just went to the dollar store and got some small cosmetic travel containers, and fill one with the powder so that I can easily transport it in my purse, with a kabuki brush to dust it on.
Jan 24 2014 update:
I saw my girlfriend for the first time in a month last night. I was wearing the above described combination: BB cream, with a dusting of this #200 light lavender powder on top. Upon first seeing me, she said, “Your skin looks amazing! What are you doing?!” I credit the Anna Sui powder completely as it gives a very light-reflective, brightening, smooth finish to my generally sallow complexion. Right before I saw my girlfriend, I also have to note that I picked up my son from school, and I noticed two fathers checking me out at the school as well!! Generally speaking, I don’t get men checking me out anymore; as a working Mom, I am and look tired. I’m NOT saying that I want fathers and men to check me out; all I’m saying is that this powder has some attention-grabbing power from both men and women!!

This is not a setting powder. This product should be used as a highlighter. As a highlighter, it’s phenomenal. It’s so gorgeous and gives you such an amazing glow. However, it does not do it’s job as a setting powder. Also, it’s overwhelming to put it on all over the face because it’s too shimmery. It is very light weight and has an amazing rosy scent. The packaging is so gorgeous, but it is not the most practical packaging. I would only recommend this if your looking for a highlighting powder.

PROS:
– makes my skin feel so soft
– really makes my underlies look smooth
– truly translucent
CONS:
expensive!
holisticRuffs5
I’m not sure if the formulation of this powder has changed since the last review. I’m reviewing the hyaluronic loose powder. It is absolutely fantastic. It blurs my fine lines and imperfections. It kept me matte all day in 90 degree, top humidity conditions. I’ve used Laura Mercier loose powder for a long time, but this is better for around the eyes and for areas you want to conceal. It’s a relatively small container (plastic and light for travelling). The only thing I wished it had, given the high price, is a rotating cover for the holes so that it would not make a mess for travelling. This product is worth the price!

I use this to set my Light Expert foundation. I love how this wears with it. Doesn’t cake, settle into lines or pores or separate on my skin. Gives almost an airbrushed effect.
I’ve had trouble finding a loose powder that worked for me generally, I’ve tried Prescriptives, NARS, MAC. Only complaint I have re: this is the packaging. I find that I tend to spill the powder when I decant some in the lid to apply with brush.

Such a shame!
This powder made my skin look absolutely beautiful….everyone told me I was glowing. how excited I was until, a week later….when I realised this powder was breaking me out.
Have had to stop using it! Use with EXTREME caution if you have sensitive skin, like me. Talc is the main ingredient, and I have found that it is actually an irritant (which is why mineral foundations also break me out. Don’t believe the hype!)
I am now getting good results with the Creme De La Mer loose powder. It’s been 3 weeks, and so far no break-outs. Fingers x-ed!
panickyFlamingo2
I think it is the best loose powder I tried. It sets makeup perfectly and does not leave any glittery or chalky look. Also no irritation or breakout from this product. I use cream vanilla and although it looks very peachy in the container, it matches/brightens up my LLL/FFF skintone. By terry products are very expensive, but I am very impressed with their quality. **Edit Nov** I still like this powder very much but I prefer By Terry pressed powder (HG), which I think gives a bit more satiny-velvety finish. And also the shade cream vanilla is too peach in natural light (looks nice in evenings, though).

Skin conditions – oily, pores, redness, sensitive
The packaging of this means you have to decant into another suitable container before use. It does fill out quite a lot, so despite feeling incredibly ripped off for paying over $100 for a small jar of powder it fills into a container which one would say that it was quite good value for money!
Same scent as the enhancer, a lovely smoky musk which is not overwhelming. The texture is superb, up there with La Mer/CdP/Laura Mercier. It is another powder which is based on super refined talc/silicone/acetate ingredients. Coverage is sheer, as it should only be used for enhancing purposes. I have this in #4 banane. I am always on the look out for good quality yellow based powders as most European peach/beige tones do not suit my skin at all.
There are sheer shimmers which create luminance but not sheen, one issue I have is that these shimmers are still visible on the skin even after cleansing and a mask. They are mostly gone by the next day. I usually have sensitivities to talc based powders which results in slight itching and discomfort which can last all day. Surprising BT products do not cause this at all. This powder also has excellent oil control which is not expected from talc based products. I have used this only with a silk/rice powder – normally I’d expect oil breakthrough by mid afternoon with La Mer/Laura Mercier, but I did not blot for the entire day with this on top.
For reference, the ingredients talc, magnesium myristate, aluminium starch octenylsuccinate, zinc stearate, isopropyl isostearate, cetyl acetate, cetrimonium bromide, parfum, acetylated lanolin alcohol, methyl paraben. may contain CI 77019 mica, CI 7891 titanium dioxide, CI 77491 iron oxide, CI 77492 iron oxide, CI 77499 iron oxide, CI 16035 FD&C red N40 aluminium lake, CI 770007 ultramarines, CI 19140:1 (FD&C yellow N5 aluminium lake, CI 45410:2 D7C red N28 aluminium lake, CI 77742 manganese violet, CI 77120 barium sulfate, myristic acid.

I love this powder after trying one a few other brands, this is the best I ever had… Powder is very light & easy to apply. Set well on my skin, giving a glowy & healthy look that last me the whole day! I even applied it around my eyes & fine lines seems to have been minimized. I’m amazed with the product. But It’s rather costly though, & product doesn’t come with any applicator.
soreWhiting7
This loose powder is pretty good. I use this powder to “bake” my concealer under my eyes and it really brightens them up and keeps it from creasing! For overall on the face, I think it’s about as good as your average powder. Sorry, but the dreaded t-zone always reigns supreme over any powder I use. XD
The only thing I would say about this, is if you have medium to dark skin, then I don’t know how this powder will work for you. They really need to get a bigger shade selection for this powder.
thriftySeafowl5
Someone told me that Aveda started all this mineral-powder thing so they do know what they are doing!
This powder is just fantastic! It controls my oily skin, covers it up a bit and make me look like I have nothing on and perfect skin!
It doesnt make me break out and they dont have talc in it.
This is a must-have if you dont have much time to put your make up on!
giddyPretzels9
i have this in teak. It definitely has an olivey cast to it, but it works well for me right now because Ive gotten a bit tanner, sets my makeup and leaves my skin perfect -not matte and powdery. has little shimmer particles that you can barely see in the container and not at all on skin but I believe this makes it not so powdery looking. great. will update if it breaks me out. price is on par with all the other loose powders
goofyPup4
Aveda translucent loose powder – True to its name, it is absolutely translucent. No matter how many coats I applied. It looked like I haven’t put anything on. I did end up with too many coats and it started to get chalky. Why did I buy it? I was hoping for a soft shimmering addition to my makeup but that’s not what I got. There was no soft shimmering addition. Just matte powder that offer no coverage or no natural glow. I was disappointed. I would not get it again.
wrathfulMeerkat9
Always in search of the “perfect” powder..loose or otherwise. This one is awesome. Non-chalky; keeps the oils at bay for quite a while; Touch-ups necessary? On me…yes …but when I do…it doesn’t cake at all. GREAT powder. I use shade: Cream which seems more transparent when I use it over EL double matte in Warm Sand.
Edit: Taking it a notch down for comparative as well as stand alone reasons. I’m not extremely impressed with Aveda per se anymore.
dejectedTruffle5
This is one of the best powders I’ve used. It smells great and keeps my super-oily skin shine free for hours. It doesn’t cake after touch-ups, either! I’d highly recommed, even though the packaging leaves something to be desired (the plastic screw top chipped when I dropped it).
enviousSalami1
Ugh… chalky. This was not a good product at all. Thank goodness there was no scent to this or it’d be one of the worse powders i ever tried. It was cakey after 2 hours of wear. The colour line was decent though nothing to rave about. Definately spend my money else where!
truthfulEagle4
This loose powder is great ! The only thing that is wrong is the stupid puff it comes with. Use your own professional puff or powder brush and you are good to go ! 🙂
yearningTacos5
Gets the job done. Affordable. Only issue is that it doesn’t last all day. I need to touch up my t zone (I’m not super oily either.) For the price, it works fine with my maybelline dream liquid mousse. Used this as a young teen as well.
1/2/15
An old favorite. This lasts so long. I keep it in my purse. I love how my foundation or tinted moisturizer looks after this. I do need to reapply during the day, but since I like how it looks, I keep using it. Doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin either. Just wish it was better oil control.
insecureCurlew9
Well… it helped my foundation from greasing up. Only because it was so thick and cakey, though. The packaging was hard to use and as the klutz I am, i dropped it a few times and the flimsy plastic cracked and the loose powder would continually leak out.
peacefulChough5
Hi! I absolutely love this powder. It’s inexpensive, and for me lasts awhile. I personally do not like compacted powders because they tend to get broken inside the compact and they don’t seem to last long to me. So, I use loose powder. I love how this is not expensive, it lasts, and it leaves a matte finish.
There are only two cons. One is that some people probably would not like the smell.I love it, it reminds me of my grandma. (:
The other is how it can easily spill everywhere. What I do is I pour some of it into a tighter container when I take it to go.
I love this product.

This is a rediscovered oldie but goodie. This powder has been around for years and I used it when I was a teenager first wearing makeup. For Oily skin this is a great mattifying powder with that familiar and nostalgic Noxema scent, which i personally love. It smells “clean” to me. Being oily and acne prone, I’ve always searched for a great loose powder to set my foundation with and decided to give this one a try again. Believing that my makeup skill and expectations have increased over the years, I was interested in trying this again to see what I thought. Still impressed! Although it comes with a puff, I apply it with a fluffy powder blush as a setting powder and it keeps me matte all day. IF you’re interested in an inexpensive (I never say cheap as I think this word implicates a lack of quality) loose powder I recommend giving this one a try. I use translucent light (for reference I am NC30-NC35 in MAC, Ivory Beige in ELDW, Warm Golden in Revlon CS) and it is undetectable.

I’m surprised that the low rating; I love this. I live in Toronto and it is so hot and humid this week; feels like 44 degrees Celsius and this powder really came through. Keeps my face from looking shiny for hours and goes on smooth and light with a nice touch of coverage. Oh and the kicker; it was $8.99 at Shoppers!

This loose powder by Cover Girl is not the worst but I wouldn’t say it is the greatest. It’s one of those products that are on the fence and just gets the job done. I really like that it doesn’t flake up my skin and leaves it pretty smooth and soft. It keeps my foundation in tack and my super oily skin at bay.
Packaging could use some reinventing. There is a sifter included but it’s not a closed sifter, so if you tumble the container your powder will be spilling inside and it can get pretty messy. I like that it comes with a powder puff which is cute and convenient but it surely needs some sort of strap or handle.
And yes, just like the other reviewers have mentioned the scent is quite strong. It doesn’t bother me because I’m not too sensitive to the smell but damn it’s pretty sharp when you first apply it to your skin.

I bought this product a few years ago and more recently and i still find it fantastic.
Pros: In terms of coverage, it provides this fresh look on your face, with a hint of shimmer (i used #701 and #702) and sits as an awesome setting powder on your face. i would use it for nights out clubbing and my skin in photos would turn out flawless.
The product smells great and the packaging is cute.
Cons: My skin felt quite clogged and didnt prevent shine after a few hours. Touch ups were required. Also travelling with this powder was a pain, there was no secure lid and i have lost count how many times i have actually dropped or spilled this powder. It creates a mess and ruins your powder buffer.

I got this as a gift. First reaction was that I love the packaging. It’s just so pretty. You can’t take it with you like the twist top ones but you can always transfer some to a small container.
I have the one with shimmer. Made me look fat when I tried using it all over my face, glowing like the full moon. But then I discovered that this works great as a highlight under the eyes, high on the cheekbones or dabbed on the forehead.
I still have loads left but I imagine I will repurchase when I’m out.

Usually i use my Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre, but sometimes i would use this loose powder in #200. The purple glittery loose powder really does even out your skin tone. This actually was a birthday present from my aunt and at first i thought she got my shade wrong because it was so greyish and… ewww(!!!) i really hated it. Besides, all the shimmering made it even worst. My ex-colleague even asked me why is my face in this colour and i was too embarrassed to answer his question! I left this loose powder in my drawer for a month or two, until i got a powder brush from Hong Kong. I decided to give this loose powder one more try and.. Voila~ After applying it w a brush it looked so much, mark my words, SO MUCH BETTER. Of course, there is still shimmer in this loose powder, but at least the greyish cast didn’t appear. I am not sure if this loose powder is suitable for warm skin tones tho, because my friend who has a warm skin tone tried it on and i thought i doesn’t really suit her.
I don’t really recommend this loose powder for everyday use tho. I just thought it won’t be the MOST appropriate for work or school (i would use a loose powder without shimmers instead), but it is good for partying or a night out w your girlfriends! If you really want to use it in daytime, i feel that it can be used as a highlighter instead. We all know the pinching pain when we can’t finish a pot of expensive loose powder but yet we have to throw it away due to hygiene purposes.

I love the scent of this product. Although the packaging is beautiful and the puff is soft, thick and large, I have accidentally dropped the case two times and spilled about 1/3 of the content. That was such a waste. But still, it seems to last forever. I usually just pat a few times on my face but it instantly bright up my skin. It is not too glittery at all but gives me a subtle glow. It makes my makeup stay in its place for the day.
This is a bit costly for me as I am not a every day makeup type of person. I have a love and hate relationship with the packaging itself but it seems to last long enough and the results on my face is nice.
holisticPie0
very nice loose powder, good oil control and leave you the perfect skin!
grudgingCrackers2
I am reviewing these in shades #2, Morning Rose and #3, Midnight Mauve. The Morning Rose is a loose light pink powder, really brightens up my skin tone. Shade #3 is a light mauve colour, works well on my PPP skin tone, skin looks more luminous and porcelain. Very nice, (colors look bright in the container, but do not apply that way, very subtle).
cynicalMagpie2
I have this in shade #1, Moon White. This is a loose translucent white powder, comes in a shaker like container. Gives a soft, matte finish. Works well on my skin tone (PPP), not sure if it would work on darker skin tones though.

This stuff really control shine and helps your foundation to last! The color range is very good also. Much better then Clinique.

Normally I do not wear anything covergirl don’t get me wrong I love drugstore I just find the other drugstore brands are far superior now a days. Anyways I saw a beauty guru use this in her foundation routine video and swears by it. She also has similar skin like me which is a little oily. The way she uses this is by pushing the puff onto the skin packing it in sort of like stippling. So since I love trying what she does I purchased this and applied exactly how she did and love it. Normally I use rimmel matte powder but this stuff does exact thing and leaves a less powder finish. It looses a mark for the scent it does have a strong noxzema scent which tends to linger. I still am not a fan of covergirl but I definitely like this product. Check out the beauty vaults video on her current foundation routine to see how she applies it may help! http://www.thebeautyvault.ca she’s amazing!

I’ve used this product several times. I use it everyday that I don’t want to use liquid foundation. it makes my face so soft. I always tell my boyfriend ‘Oh please feel my face! It’s so soo so so soft !!!!! it’s a great turn on for guys too so. That’s a plus!

I hate this powder. I can’t rate it’s performance as a setting powder, because I couldn’t get it passed my nose to try it. The smell is so strong, and it’s not pleasant. I am extremely sensitive to fragrance, and I swear, as soon as I took this out of the packaging – my eyes started to water and my lips began to sting (strange, I know) – that was before I’d even taken the cap off. I wish I had spent my $18 on something worth while. DO NOT TRY if you are sensitive to fragrance, it’s a complete waste of money!!

I’m writing this review targeting the #200. it’s the purple shimmering loose powder. Personally I love this product. At first I regret buying it. Until one day… I dust it on my face like drawing a “C” from the temples to the cheekbones. DO NOT SWIPE. you have to dust it lightly with a loose powder brush. I also dust a little bit on the smile lines cause the shimmer reflects light therefore your smile lines will be less noticeable. I do this instead of applying it on the whole face so it gives me a natural glow also brighten up the whole face. I usually finish the look with a LIGHT swipe of blush.
I really recommend trying this instead of applying it to the whole face which does make you look grey. Of course, try using it as a body shimmer if you really don’t like it on your face. no one should hate this amazing product 😉

I have this in no702 which definitely dark for my nc20 skin however I use it w my super fair/light foundations to set it. I love this loose powder! The powder is so fine. If you’re worried about the rose scent please don’t! It’s not that strong fragrant rose smelled! It’s just mild and light scent of rose and that’s it. Another thing I love is the packaging! Sooo darling! The purple puff is so fluffy and soft! Definitely worth Sgd65!

Completely mismatched skin tone in day-light condition although the sales lady claimed the color is right for me. Nice smell and beautiful box, that’s about it. However, it is difficult to carry around or for travel purposes since the box cannot be sealed.
