   I have to start out saying that I’ve been using Bobbi Brown loose powder(s) daily to set my foundation since the late 1990s. Beginning with the professional loose powder and then switching to the sheer finish loose powder when it came out around 2001, both in the Pale Yellow shade.

   In the fall of 2019 the sheer finish loose went out of stock (returning only just recently). Concerned my HG was discontinued, I did an online chat with BB CS on 2 separate occasions and both times I was told it was indeed discontinued. So instead of stockpiling this pricey powder I thought it was a good opportunity to try something new. With my super sensitive, slightly acne-prone, PD-prone, mild rosacea skin type, I knew this was going to be challenging! I’ve had success with Lancôme pressed powders in the past (now both discontinued, boo!), so I took notice of this loose powder and the ingredients looked “safe”. Well I’m so glad I did because this powder is amazing! I’ve been using it daily for a few months now and my skin has been doing just fine, no reactions or breakouts to speak of. It blends on invisibly on my light skin tone, setting my Shiseido TM beautifully for all day wear. The packaging is so much better than the BB as well — the sifter holes are larger so the powder comes out without struggle, the container itself is heavier and hopefully the plastic won’t crack like the BB has been known to do and the top closes easier. You also get more powder in the container and it is much cheaper per ounce than the BB!

   I was just on the BB website and saw that the Sheer Finish Loose is in stock and I decided not to restock, which is saying a lot! Can’t believe I have a new HG loose powder after using BB for 22 years, wow!! Now just hoping Lancôme will bring out a matching pressed version for my purse!

   I love this setting powder! Where do I begin? It does exactly what its supposed to do. I find some powders ruin the finish of the foundation and make it look cakey or dry looking, however, not with this powder! It’s so smooth and it mattifies and sets immediately without having to apply much. Because its a mattifying powder, I like to use it in the areas which I like to be matte, then I use the hourglass veil translucent powder on the other parts (outer areas of my face), considering the hourglass powder is more illuminating. I do that just because I dont want my entire face matte; I like a lot of glow too. Also, staying power was really good and it works well on my oily skin. I would still imagine it to work well on dry skin types, if u hydrate your skin well and use a bit only as needed. I definitely recommend this powder and it’s worth the price!

   Even though this received 3 out of 5 from me, I want to preface by saying this is a great product and I don’t regret buying it!

   That said – I figure out favorites/scoring by placing the high end product against my favorite drugstore product (Coty Airspun). I have to say both sides look very similar after application (Lancôme is slightly smoother than the Coty) and when I blot throughout the day (usually have to do blot once in morning, once in afternoon) the same amount of oil comes off on the sheets (I designate one sheet per side). Both sides of my face look exactly the same throughout the day.

   Now some people hate the fragrance of the Coty, so it that’s a major no to you – Lancôme it is. But at $6 vs $37, I need to go with a middle of the road rating for this one!

   This is one powder which actually does what is says it will – keep your face shine-free for hours. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone. I’ve used other loose powders to set my foundation in the morning, but then I had to not only blot up the oil by noon (my favourite blotting papers, btw, are made by Boscia, then brush on some oil-control pressed powder – and then, a few hours later, do the whole thing again. With the Lancôme Long Time No Shine powder, my T-zone looks a bit shiny by mid-day, so I use my blotting paper to tone down the shine – and that’s it, folks!

   I’m happy to see companies are not producing thick and cakey powder like the Laura mercier anymore
   Now we can see a bunch a finely milled powder launching (fenty ,too faced peach powder beauty bakerie ,maybelline etc)
   I was a little bit scared by the pink tint of this powder
   The color is pretty comparable to the Patrick powder
   But this powder is wayyy better
   It’s like a prefecting veil on the skin
   Its honestly one of the more multitasking one
   It’s good for the under eyes the entire face and baking
   This powder is not categorized as translucent but its certainly one of the most universal one I ever use
   15 grams is not the more generous amount but it’s better than a lot of luxury powders
   The product is unscented contains no parabens and mineral oils who are my peet peave
   Coupled with the teint idole ultra long wear from the same brand the result is just magic
