I hated it. I tried it because I work outdoors, under the sun, the rain, and the wind. The colour finish was terrible, it looked like pot of glitter spilled in my face. The texture, moisturizing, yes, but not appropriate for a make up foundation: when I applied powder or blush over it, it became a dirty cream in my face. I cancelled using it for a night makeup, so I tried it for daytime, without powder or blush over, just concealer, eyeliner, lipstick and mascara. It did not work anyway, because it captured all the dirt that was flowing around in my face. It’s a perfect moisturizer, but a terrible foundation. And the smell…it has olive oil..A LOT of olive oil. I used to smell like a salad. I like it only because of my work, as a protection for my skin…but it doesn’t work as a regular foundation. In the end, I mixed it with Dior Forever (which is very, very dry) and then I got some kind of perfect foundation.

I just found out that the Super Moisture Makeup was discontinued. Being in my 70’s, it was a perfect makeup for me. I’m upset they discontinued it. Using this makeup alone without powder gave my skin a very dewy look and kept it moisturized. The sales gal is sending me a sample of another makeup she said I might like. All I can say is Phooey!

I have super dry skin and eczema.. Needless to say, I’ve been determined to finding the best foundation for my skin. For the past 3 years, I have called this my “go-to” foundation for three reasons:
1) It has skin-friendly ingredients. It doesn’t have Sulfate, Parabens, etc. Clinique is very mindful of what they use in their products.
2) My skin feels moisturized all day. If aquafor had a foundation, this would be it. It isn’t as thick or shiny as aquafor; however, it traps in the moisture very well.
3) I feel like it has the versatility of having sheer to heavy coverage. It layers on nicely if you need a medium-heavy foundation.
Some potential flaws would be
1) It can sit in fine lines and dry out. Since I have eczema, it’s really difficult to manage with makeup. Or if I just have dry, flaky skin, then it will FOR SURE dry out. Once you exfoliate your skin, it won’t be that way.
2) It does have a dewy finish. Like I said, the coverage can be a sheer or thick as you desire. I have used this as a base before I contour and highlight. When I highlight, the dewy finish helps out. Also, I really like looking at my skin when it looks dewy. Otherwise, it’s looks dull and dry haha

After giving this foundation a try, I was very surprised that I actually liked it, given that I’m a possessor of unfortunately oily skin.
See, I’m doing this thing where I’m killing my wallet for buying more high end products for the sake of the flawlessness my face. The bar was set pretty high for this foundation. Prior to Supermoisture, I had an overall solid experience with Clinique’s Superbalanced, so I guess I wasn’t as cynical buying an encore of Clinique’s “moisturizing products”. I transitioned into this color recently after gaining some amount of tan on a recent vacation, and, I gotta say, I’m impressed with the color match. Even the undertones match me; I’m strongly yellow-undertoned, so most drugstore foundations are a miss in that sense. It truly looked like a more even color of my skin. Even better; it didn’t oxidize! It stayed the same color as it appeared in its tube.
I was also quite impressed with its coverage and blendability. Even though it’s a “moisturizing” product, I’d say Supermoisture is a solid medium-heavy on the coverage scale. It didn’t cover my problem acne completely, but it definitely lessened the burden on my concealer. Also, it cooperated really well with being blended and left no uneven streaks or sparse areas after surviving my foundation brush’s obligations.
What bugged me about this foundation- hence the 4/5 stars- is its finish. It takes /ages/ to dry. While it’s not completely dry, let me emphasize the fact that it’s sticky. I mean, very sticky. Sticky like adheres your brush bristles together sticky. It makes powder application very difficult, since the powder brush keeps getting caught in the not-yet-dry foundation and having its bristles bunched. I’d say it takes a solid ten-fifteen minutes to fully set. Until then, I have to work around its state and try to apply bronzer and blush to a foundation which very willingly intensifies the pigmentation of all my other face products. Hello, clown face.
Also, wow, it has a SHINY finish! It’s dewy on the extreme side of the spectrum. Make sure you have enough powder to tame its reflective finish. I’m not exactly a fan of dewy, but this finish is typical with a moisturizing foundation, so I had to accept it.
Also, is it actually moisturizing? I don’t know, really, because I use primers underneath, and part of my pre-makeup routine is moisturizer. Plus, naturally oily skin does its thing. So, I didn’t see any real difference in my face moisture levels.
However, as another voucher for the effectiveness of this foundation, its staying power is excellent. Usually, most moisturizing foundations fall into the trope of “moisturizing -> terrible staying power”, but this one transcends that and has proven itself capable of remaining presentable for 20 hour periods at a time. Kudos. I usually don’t need to reapply it or even reapply the powder, because it actually refrains from reverting to being horribly shiny throughout the day.
I like the squeeze tube; it’s very easy to control how much you apply. Unfortunately, its price is kinda crazy, I’m sure it retails for over $30; however, I bought this at Cosmetics Company Outlet, so if you’d like to try this product, keep an eye out for it there. Basically, I was not disappointed with this foundation. If you have dry skin, you could give this a valid chance. Even oily skin doesn’t reject this foundation, either, so I can actually recommend this to anybody. Overall, this is a very workable and cooperative foundation, and I recommend it!

I found a perfect shade for my very light skin, it is 02 #Linen, it looks extremely natural on me, even outside in natural light. You know, they all look very nice in the stores, but not in natural light on the street. So this one is the most natural looking I ever used, under any lights!!! I have pretty dry skin and this doesn`t dry it out, not when you apply it, and not hours after. I can hardly see that it is on my face, and that is what I wanted. Just sheer coverage to give a little bit of smooth effect. Oh, and the glitter in it, I can`t see them at all. People mentioned you can see them more in the sun, I don`t know that yet, but so far this looked amazingly natural and un-noticeble on the street, at home, in the restaurant, etc. Great product for my dry skin, I use a good moisturizer under it, and it never dries it out, not at application, not hours after…:-) Also, does NOT settle into PORES to make them larger! BIG thumbs up!!! Huge color selection too.. For me it is on the cheaper side for the $20-something… :-)))

over all this wasnt a terrible foundation. it is wonderful for people with dry skin. the only killer for me was the shimmer. TONS of micro shimmer. and with all of my acne scars, that doesnt fly..

This product is very good for people that have dry skin and want a light coverage. I like to use this foundation only in the summer as I would usually go for a medium to full coverage foundation. I love the finish this foundation gives when I don’t use a primer.. When I use a primer this foundation is TOO dewy, it looks like your sweating.. I find this foundation to be over priced and for the price I would have liked a pump. The packaging is very basic and cheap looking.

When i first started using Clinique products i wanted to love them so badly! But this was only my first disappointment in a long list. As well as very dry skin i have psoriasis and although this says supermoisture, my skin didn’t feel moisturized at all! It caked instantly and Clinique dont do a shade that caters to pale or light skin so it was very noticeable. For my dry skin i use Clinique moisture surge intense and a cheaper brand like No7 or Loreal who have the right shade for a pale gal and my skin feels just as moisturized without having to spend extra! 😀

I have skin that tends to break out when it gets dry so using a hydrating foundation is very important to me especially in the colder months. I really like how this make my skin feel it is very similar to a tinted moisturizer so it felt very soothing putting this on my dry skin and made me feel comfortable all day which i loved the only problems I have with this foundation is it is quite sheer I have quite a bit of hyperpigmentation that I like to keep covered up and this I found did not last very long on my face even with primer underneath but the biggest problem I had with this foundation is the glitter in sunlight it is quite noticeable and embarrassing I feel like I outgrew face glitter in my teens. All in all it is a decent product but for the price there is so many better products out there to choose from.

I have purchased this a few times, using it over the years. Having very dry skin, finding a medium coverage foundation has been a big challenge. This foundation is thick, and doesn’t cling to dry patches.
I just hate the finish it gives my skin. It does not have a “skin” look when applied. It just doesn’t look very natural. It’s not cakey, even if you apply a lot, but it just doesn’t look very good. (I realized this after looking through photos of myself)
Because it is good for dry skin, I purchase it just to mix with some better quality foundations to add a bit of moisture to them. I have mixed with my MUFE HD, to make the MUFE foundation less dry. (only out of neccessity because my skin is SO dry, and I haven’t found anything that adds moisture like this does. Like I said, I really don’t like the finish it gives) MUFE leaves a great natural finish to skin, but the formula is too dry for me to use alone.
It also has quite a bit of glitter in the formula. I didn’t mind that much in my 20’s, but really HATE the overall look now that I am in my 30’s.
