I was initially thrilled to find a great shade match (shade: Linen) for my pale skin, in addition to the lovely packaging and scent. These are all superficial compliments and aside from that, this foundation was horrible for me;
– Feels like it drags on the skin, it felt like a sticky layer
– I haven’t broken out in about 10 years, this caused almost pimple lacerations ALL OVER my face.
-Emphasised and settled into my pores like nothing I have experienced before.
– Seperated on the whole face within 2 hours, no matter how much I set it, yet still feels dry? Very odd.
I usually love Becca products, but I am so disappointed this didn’t work for me. I have combination skin but the inability for this foundation to meld into my skin at all was shocking, especially for the price (AU $66). I went through nearly half the tube against my better judgement (I could definitely feel it clogging my pores) and now I’m still healing a week later from the break out.
Perhaps the “infused nectar” or silicone base is what did it, but I ended up being this on sale for a period at Sephora for nearly half off so perhaps there is something off with this formula. Very disappointed.

I have EXTREME dry skin, many fine lines, a few deep wrinkles and some pores. This is the only foundation that I’ve found that doesn’t feel like it’s going to crack my face open after an hour. If you have combination skin (dry in some places and oily in others) I would caution you about using this as you will need to seriously set it with powder (if you need a powder you don’t have dry skin). If you have oily skin, stay away from it! If you are like me and have very dry wrinkled skin this will work. However, you have to know how to prep your skin properly to get the best results. Because im extreme dry I can’t just put this on by itself and go. (I can’t do that with any makeup). This stays all day if you let your moisturizer fully absorb first, then apply the Skin Love Brighten & Blur Primer, then foundation, then Skin Love Glow Shield Prime & Set Mist. FYI, I have tried it with the glow elixir, first light priming filter and the backlight priming filter and on my dry skin it still made a serious mess of my wrinkles and pores. Only Skin Love Brighten & Blur Primer, then foundation, then Skin Love Glow Shield Prime & Set Mist works on my skin type. This does go on very yellow (I have pink skin). Its shocking at first however it neutralizes on me after about 30 minutes it melts into my skin and no longer looks yellow and the finish is nice and “healthy”. Use a damp sponge to apply finger and brush applications are streaky on dry skin.
Friends have noticed and I received numerous compliments on how my skin looks when I wear it.

I don’t have much of good things to say about this foundation but other than I like the packaging, it didn’t oxidize on me and it smelt like yummy coconut. I found the product to be “oily” and didn’t smooth out my texture of fine lines and pores at all. It just kinda sat on my face. And it had zero staying power for me, faded fairly quickly within a few hours. I also was not able to find a good shade match. I went for olive beccause I’m a med olive but it looked beige (pinkish) on me. Returned it.

I have normal-to-oily skin, prone to clogged pores, with a history of cystic acne. I got this in the shade Shell, which was slightly too light for my NC20 olive-undertoned skin. Sand was slightly too dark, so if I mixed both I would probably have a perfect match.
I love the finish on this foundation. It kinda reminds me of the Fenty Beauty foundation in that it dries down to a relatively non-tacky finish, though it’s not quite as matte. It’s also not quite as thick or sticky as the Becca Ultimate Coverage. I feel like I don’t have to set this with powder (rare for me). It has a pretty thick texture, and one layer (buffed out with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush–unfortunately my beautyblender is in the trash) gives me medium coverage. It covers my blemishes and undereye circles pretty well, but not my freckles, which is just how I like it. I also love that this comes with a pump.
The one major downside of this product for me, that might deter me from buying it again, is the smell. It has a very strong, kind of baby powder smell that lingers on the face for quite a while. I’ve never heard anyone complain about the scent before, so it could just be me, but if you’re sensitive to fragrances this may bother you. I’m hoping this doesn’t break me out, because I do really love how it makes my skin look.

This is one of the worst foundations I have ever had. It is also not cheap so it is quite frustrating. It spreads so unevenly and poorly. My skin looks cakey and peels after a few hours.
In general I don’t recommend it.

This is my HG foundation. Looks amazing, blends perfectly, perfect colour match, lasts all day. HG product! Just out of my price range right now 🙁

My skin type: combination. I prefer satin finish foundations, with medium coverage.
I love Becca for their shade range. Shell is one of only two or three decent shade matches I stumbled upon over the past 10 years of being into makeup.
Sadly their Ultimate Coverage foundation was a mess- dry and cakey mess. When I saw the promo pics of this foundation- which was supposed to have satin finish and be more hydrating, I got so excited. I bought it as soon as it hit the stores.
The shade Shell is a bit less yellow than one from Ultimate Coverage, but it worked pretty good on my warm yellow/olive toned NC10 skin.
A couple of facts:
– it has a demi-matte finish.
– it’s not dewy or hydrating.
– it has a pretty thick consistency.
– one pump is more than enough for one application.
– coverage: solid medium.
I could call it a dissolved and less heavy version of Ultimate Coverage, and also less cakey-looking.
It doesn’t break me out.
Works best applied on top of very hydrating product(s). Don’t bother with silicone primers, these will make this product hard to apply and cakey. I usually use my regular moisturizer and Marc Jacobs Coconut primer.
It hopped right into my top 3 foundation list!
Already repurchased. 🙂

I love the packaging of this, the texture, the scent (mild cucumber melon, like the serum but less fragrance than that product) and the finish. I just wish there were more shades that lean towards neutral. The scent does not last, so if you’re sensitive to that, it fades in less than a minute as far as I can tell!
FINISH, COVERAGE & WEAR:
This is not matte and certainly not dewy. Its a “natural” finish on me, leaning towards matte. I have normal-dry skin. I even have used illuminating primers under – it is not dewy. It is a medium to full coverage, and build-able. I don’t really like full coverage foundations at all because they tend to be dry or matte – but this one is kind of in the middle, yet lasts all day. I did not take concealer on a recent trip so I applied a little less than 1/4 of a pump (i’m glad you can control it!) under my eyes, and set with powder and it worked well. I don’t have heavy dark circles, but it is enough to even me out naturally. I also find that I always use a highlighter (becca opal) with this foundation to get the glow I really want (in targeted areas) but the places I typically get shiny after an hour stay natural-looking. I still lightly powder my T-zone (with it cosmetics bye bye pores or becca hydra mist). It will last all day but it can tend to make me look dry by the end of the day (in areas where i din’t apply powder).
TEXTURE & APPLICATION:
it is thick but light in feeling. I does not feel heavy on your skin. I tried it with the becca “the one perfecting” brush for a trip and it just didn’t look right because I had to apply TOO MUCH product to get it across my face before it dried. a little goes a long way, and the best method I’ve tried is 1 full pump, dabbed between my fingers and then directly on to my face with my fingers only. I then just massage it around before it dries. Sometimes I reapply more in a second layer in areas I may need a little more coverage. A beauty blender soaks up too much and it just doesn’t look right. apparently there is some level of “skin matching” technology in this stuff too – I’m not sure about that, but it does make a huge difference in the finish & look when you warm with your fingers rather than a brush or blender.
COLOR:
there are over 20 shades of this, but I feel like there isn’t a perfect match for me, but I did find one that works OK. they also list some of the colors as “cool” or “beige” and they are neither. you really need to go visit a counter and try them out. For now, I won’t be repurchasing because the color is just off.

I live in Asia, travel frequently for business, have extremely sensitive skin that’s also oily inside+dry outside, plus allergies to seafood/sun/yellow light/most sunscreen but this foundation is a bliss to use. Last 8 hrs, natural finish, no bumps or reaction, covers redness and a little goes a Long way. Can’t think of anything negative about the product. Worth every penny. I’ve tried everything from Guerlain, Kar von d, MAC, Sisley, la prairie, Dior. IT etc nearly every brand you can think off. And Becca’s foundation is the best one by a Long way. Anyone looking for a wearable, durable and natural foundation ought to try this one. Just don’t slap on too much.. it’s a foundation, not a mask… have fun!

I was really excited to try this foundation because Becca is one of the OG companies for being inclusive with its shades. I have deep dark skin with golden to neutral undertones (NW50-55) and I found a perfect match in Mahogany.
Pros:
— I needed just one layer (using a brush) to cover the hyperpigmentation on my checks and forehead.
— The foundation dries quickly but sets to a beautiful, slightly dewy finish. It is gawwwgeous!
— I blotted twice in an eight-hour workday, which is pretty much unheard of for me. My skin is not as oily as it used to be but I’m definitely accustomed to blotting every hour on the hour. 🙂
— Stayed true to color throughout the day. Not much oxidation at all and I was very pleased with my end-of-day face.
Cons
— I wore this four times, taking a day or two break each time. Each time I removed it, I had a mild rash/irritation pimples in the same places, which absolutely breaks my heart because I otherwise would definitely have this in my stash.
Bottom line: Gorgeous, glowy, dewy and skin-like with some ingredients that might not be suitable for acne-prone/sensitive skins.
