The Best of the Best! I love La Prairie, and I use their skincare exclusively, but this has to be one of the most outstanding products that they’ve ever created. I mean, it does everything that a foundation ought to do. It has a stellar presentation, and the finish is amazing–so very natural-looking. Thank you, La Prairie for coming out with such a fantastic product. Seems like everybody’s always raving about the Concealer Foundation, but really, this is the one! It’s less heavy, and the application is foolproof. I have never applied foundation with anything other than my fingers, but the sponge application technique that this foundation uses makes skin look like skin, but flawless.

Having used many LaPrairie products (never really enjoying the signature scent) …..this one is absolutely fabulous. I have the LP Caviar liquid foundation and it’s nice but a bit heavy. I just love how this immediately turns ordinary into extraordinary….for me. I do not use the little sponge puff, much prefer a damp beauty blender. I find that just a serum under it is sufficient for a moisturizer. I live in Canada and the spf is not shown on the packaging but it does have an spf of 25 which is a bonus and enough for me. Have yet to find one that I can stand on my skin, includes having tried too many. I have been trying to minimalize my ‘get ready’ time and this definitely helps. Love it and will continue to use…….$$$ permitting, it comes with a pricey ticket here in Canada 😉

I have and use several tinted moisturizers/foundations with sunscreen, including IT, Revision, Bobbi Brown, Natura Bisse, Guerlain, Chanel and a few others. This has a little more coverage than the tinted sunscreens but not enough hydration for my dry skin. Goes on a little sticky, but with good spot coverage. The others, I use with a bit of primer. With this, I need a heavier moisture application. So, I’d recommend this for normal skin, not ultra dry like mine. I will definitely use it in my makeup bag for touchups, tho! Nice color selection, too. I got NC-10 for my very fair neutral skin. I also tried N-10 which is much peachier.

I have been using La Prairie Skin Cavier Foundation. And was intrigued when I got the email about this foundation in a cushion form. I went online to the LaPrairie website and chatted with on line helper and was delighted to find that my shade 10 Tender Ivory was matched to my skin cavier foundation.
I hve tried the product two ways.. a very light application under my regular foundation as well as a medium application on its own. I used the on line video and followed the instructions.. like every La Prairie product I own, a little goes a very long way.
I have acne scarred very fair skin with some hyper pigmentation from sun damage . I have fine lines . This foundation provides a very nice blur and smooth look to my skin, and smooths into my hair line with out creeping on to my white hair. I like that you can put the compact into its blue pouch that comes with it and carry it along on my work day. But I didn’t need to retouch. It looks better as the day wears on. No visible oxidation,.
I get compliments on my skin when using this foundation. It allows me to just use my La Mer Face underneath, no need for a primer. As I curate my minimal make up less than 10 items I use daily, La Prairie is the go to for foundation, cream blush , powder eyeshadow . All double duty to not only look good, but improve my skin.

I’ve never owned a cushion foundation before, but this is a sheer/light foundation that can be built up to medium coverage. I have dry skin, so I love how hydrating it is. The finish is beautiful. It’s glowy, hydrating, evens my skin tone (melasma), and doesn’t settle in or accentuate my fine lines and wrinkles. I use a damp BeautyBlender to apply. If I don’t, the coverage is a bit heavier than I like. It comes with a flat disc sponge that is fine for a touch up, but too flimsy for all over application. The price is ridiculous. If you want to splurge, this is an elegant, long-lasting foundation that provides an even, radiant finish. I’m very fair (cool undertone), and NW10 works for me. My Nordstrom didn’t have NC10 or N10 in stock, so I don’t know if either would be a better match. I find La Prairie’s color system to be be confusing. I’m 45 with dry skin, so I don’t set this foundation with powder. I usually don’t like La Prairie products because of the heavy fragrance. This foundation is fragranced, but it’s tolerable and short-lived.

Whenever i get the chance to be the first reviewer of a product here I sort have this “set the tone” feeling, but I’m rambling already.
I don’t know how I got into purchasing this product, I got an add for it via e-mail and it seemed so enticing. I usually shy away from La Prairie makeup, I find the coverage to be really heavy and very makeupy other than the brightening concealer/highlighter and the Swiss Ice Crystal Transforming cream. I did, however, want to try this cushion.
If you don’t like makeup with strong perfume then this is not for you, the scent is strong and it’s there. I can say that after an hour or so I’m either used to it or it just fades.
Each package comes with the compact, two refills, and two sponges. Each refill has 15ml worth of foundation so you’re getting a regular sized foundation, and yes I know it doesn’t justify the outrageous price but if you compare it to My Armani To Go cushion foundation, they’re *almost* priced the same if you take into consideration that the Armani only comes with a refill.
The La Prairie cushion is their “caviar essence” makeup line, don’t get me started on why I purchased the essence which I will review at a later date but don’t be fooled by their cushion packaging this baby is a light to medium formula with a satin finish that seats amazingly on your skin and I feel as if my skin looks better when I take it off at night. The compact is heavy and not really purse friendly and you get the product dispensed through a metal net and you can use the sponge or a brush to apply it.
People with very oily skin will want to set this with powder in their t zone, I notice that I get shiny but not greasy.
It also lasts a lot when compared with other cushion foundations that I have used like the YSL Ink Cushion or the Armani ones which were my favourite but when I was taking my makeup off at night it seemed like my skin had absorbed all the product. I get a solid 8-10 hour wear with this, on me it doesn’t separate or crease or set weirdly in more problematic areas and for review purpose I don’t wear any other La Prairie product other than the Essence on my face.
I got it in N20 which is Pure Ivory which I think will suit me in the coming warmer months. This will most likely become one of those products that I will purchase with a 25% discount or at the Duty Free because of the outrageous price tag but I simply adore it and will definitely buy it again.
