one of my first cushion foundations!
local brand Silkygirl launched their first attempt at a cushion foundation, the Magic BB Cushion. originally launched in two shades (01 Natural Light, 02 Natural Medium), a third shade (03 Rose Beige) was later launched across the country.
the original claims are as follows:
“• 12-hour Oil-Control
• Fragrance-free
• SPF50/PA+++
• Formulated for Asian Skin”
… okay, so Malaysia is like, a humid and sweaty tropical country. this stuff would break up on my super oily skin after like, an hour.
this wasn’t my favourite cushion like… at all. i remember being curious about this, and my sister bought it for me during the promo period. i remember trying it and loving the initial finish, then time passed and i was like “… uhh.”
and minor nitpick, but this is definitely a cushion on the thicker side of things. the thickness of the compact reminds me of the old, old Etude House ones, the cushion foundations that were really early in the market. now that most cushions are a lot more sleek and streamlined, i guess the size of this left me a little bit disappointed.
overall, this might work for someone else? maybe someone with skin that isn’t as oily as mine. but for me, i won’t be repurchasing. looking forward to seeing if the brand makes another cushion in the future, though!
