I struggle to make this flattering on my skin, it has very little coverage and leaves my face looking oily, I thought it would make a good summer tinted moisturiser but it’s no good when I have to powder on top! The best TM I’ve found is TheBalm Balm Shelter.

I have been using this for approximately three years and I absolutely love it. I always use a tinted moisturizer versus foundation as I prefer lighter coverage. For a tinted moisturizer, this provides very good coverage. It’s consistency is neither thin nor thick, and applies easily and absorbs fairly quickly. This has never caused me breakouts, is very hydrating and gives my skin a slight glow. This replaced my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer which I had been using for 10 years prior to Liz Earle Skin Tint. I have very fair skin and I use this in shade 01 (Bare). Highly recommended.

PROS:
– Light enough for very pale skin
– Feels light on the skin
– Very natural-looking
CONS:
– I don’t find this a very good base for makeup, since It doesn’t feel like it really adheres to the skin and stays put all day (it is slightly slippery).
– SPF 15 is too low for me, personally.
– It is sheer, so only suits people with even skin tone.

Somewhere between a tinted moisturiser and a lightweight foundation, this was a good – if not excellent – replacement for Clinique’s Almost Makeup. The texture is thick enough to give decent coverage, although I get best coverage by using a moisturiser underneath, with Touche Eclat to brighten up the undereye and powdering on top. It needs the powder to avoid a tacky finish. I’ve had a bit of trouble using this on my T-zone, especially my not-terribly oily nose where make-up either slips off or clumps around the pores. Best results with this product have come with using a mattifying moisturiser on the nose first (I like the Aromatherapy Associates one) or using that plus Laura Mercier’s mattifying Secret Finish for longer hold.
Colour is good. I’m using Bare and it nicely brightens up the skin and avoids the whitening effect that some very pale make-ups tend to have.
I like this better than the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizers as coverage is superior and there are fewer oily nose problems. And it’s got a decent SPF, a must for any everyday make-up.

I am a fan of Liz Earle’s wholesome and trustworthy skincare range. Their products are nourishing, honest, smell heavenly, do not irritate my very sensitive skin, and have done it the world of good.
It was therefore with excitement that I ordered the Sheer Skin Tint in Deep Bisque, for my dark Asian, NC44 / NW35 (MAC) skin. This product is rich and creamy and nourishes my dry skin to a plump and dewy finish. As it is not a foundation, I was not expecting coverage, just some kind of an evening, pick-me-up tint. I find this, as expected, to be of light coverage. It does leave a certain hue on my face, however the colour of this hue is all wrong for me, leaving my skin looking unfortunately greyish, ghostly & ill. The range in general seems to be of a neutral tone, however for dark skins, I think some yellow and gold tones would work much better towards achieving that glow, particularly in a tinted moisturiser.
On the whole, a lovely, particularly hydrating and nourishing cream, with a tint that might work better for those with neutral undertones. My advice to Liz Earle, would be to warm up the deep bisque to be more golden.

Tried this at a liz Earle night and it looked so good on my very, very pale skin that I immediately purchased it. My skin looked glowy and warm, it got rid of the blue tinge my Scottish skin permanently has. I did not expect full coverage but the liz Earle lady really sold the buildable coverage of this product. I thought it would be amazing for everyday wear and could be applied more heavily for a night out. I loved this product and got quite a few comments on how healthy I looked. Such a shame then that after about 10 days of use I began to notice small pimples at the side of my eyes, over my cheeks and on my jawline-areas that are not usually problematic for me. I stopped using it and then after a month went to Spain on holiday and thought I would give it a try as my double wear would have been too heavy for such a hot climate. Well the pimples returned. Gave it one final chance and my skin flared up for a third time so as much as I love the way it makes my skin look it is not to be. May be a wonderful product for others but something really disagrees with my skin in this one.

I got this as a free sample and immediately liked it. However, it has taken some adjustments to make it work for my skin type, which is slightly oily and occasionally blemish-prone. I still use my regular moisturiser because it is an oil-control one so I leave it about 5 minutes after application before putting this skin tint on, otherwise everything gets a bit slippy.
It gives a really nice coverage although there is no getting around the fact that it is too greasy for oily skin types to use without mattifying it in some way- I do this with a light dusting of bareminerals foundation over the top. The finished result is fantastic- even looking complexion, redness and blemishes are invisible and it lasts well although I do have to re-apply bareminerals around mid-afternoon. As long as I use bareminerals sparingly throughout I don’t get any caked-on effect- just fresh and bright with a subtle glow- the day I perfected this look I got a lot of compliments. I also use a lot less bareminerals foundation now, which is the more expensive of the two, because this skin tint gives a good basic coverage.
I said I would re-purchase but once my current bottle runs out I think I will investigate alternative skin tints first because I’m sure there must be others out there that give less shiny coverage for oily skin- if I don’t have much luck I will return to this one because it’s the best tint I’ve used so far, despite its semi-incompatibility with my skin type.

I really like this product. I bought it to wear during the day (after I realised that Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua B20 is too pink for me!) with the intention of saving what’s left of my (discontinued) Chanel Pro-Lumiere for evenings. I actually think it’s better then the ‘pro’ and would happily wear this out at night!
The colour I wear is ‘Beige’ and it’s slightly darker than my skintone (Chanel 20, Mac NC 20) which I like because it gives me a healthy glow without looking fake or orange. It also doubles up as a sunscreen because it has broad spectrum physical sunscreen (zinc and titanium dioxide) – most foundations only contain a chemical UVB sunscreen which is practically useless because chemical sunscreens need to have contact with the skin to work properly. I wear this over my La Roche Posay Redermic UV and feel safe in the knowledge that my skin is doubly protected. It also has vitamin E so there is a bit of anti-oxidant protection there too which is always a bonus.
Coverage wise, this has similar coverage to Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua but with a more dewy finish.
The Skin Tint feels very moisturising when it is applied – it is not a modern ‘light as air formula’ like Dior Nude or Vitalumiere Aqua but instead feels like a more traditional foundation. I apply it with my fingers and it needs a good bit of blending but doesn’t streak and always applies evenly.
I am deducting 1 lippie because after a few hours this gets a bit shiny and sticky at the sides of my nose – a bit of powder usually helps but I have to rub the area with my finger first to ‘re -blend’ or it looks cakey.

This doesn’t irritate my skin (not much does, though) and I look better with it on than without it. But I am disappointed by how very greasy/oily it is. It somehow gets shinier and shinier as the day goes on and if I add enough loose mineral powder to counteract the shine, I look cake-y. I don’t know, maybe this only works for people with pretty dry skin. I’m also disappointed that although Liz Earle markets itself as a natural brand, this has plenty of parabens etc in the ingredients.

I bought this because I have been a user of Liz Earle cleanse and polish, skin tonic and moisturiser for years, and I love them all. If I’m honest though, I just can’t get excited about this skin tint. I find it too thick, strong smelling, hard to blend, and although the sales assistant assured me a little goes a long way, I find the total opposite. It gives me hardly any coverage on my dry skin, and the limited shade range means my shade, Beige 02 is too dark/orange for my fair skin, while the lighter shade was too pale. However, I have been managing to use this product daily by mixing it with Clinique’s Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser in Shade 01, because it creates a perfect colour match for my skin. Nevertheless, I don’t think I would repurchase because I just think the cons far outweigh the pros, and I’m sure I could find a better tinted moisturiser on the market.
