I have had this foundation for close to a year and kept checking MUA to see if it had been reviewed yet. I’m somewhat surprised it hasn’t been submitted yet, because this is a great foundation and can be easily found for less than $20 on ebay. It’s in HG status right now for me and is what I reach for every morning lately.
I have it in the shade Vanilla (Yellow #21) which is as close as it gets to a perfect match for my skin tone, and there is no oxidation to speak of. The shade stays true all day. If you look at the Missha swatches online, however, be advised that their swatches make it look a bit darker than I’d say it looks IRL. If you’ve used Missha BB cream, despite Vanilla being #21 in the Real Lasting line, I’d say Vanilla is more similar in lightness to a #13 in Perfect Cover or Real Complete than a #21 in the same BB cream lines, so don’t go by the number (I’m not sure if the number level is supposed to be consistent across Missha’s base makeup lines to begin with, but it confused me a bit when I was trying to pick my shade so I thought I’d mention it).
I believe the coverage is on the high medium side. Definitely evens my skin out, covers redness and makes blemishes barely perceptible without giving a high coverage foundation LOOK, if you know what I mean. This one stays natural-looking and avoids the mask-like effect of high coverage foundation. To me, it has a perfect balance between coverage and natural-looking.
One of my other favorite things about this foundation, though, is that it’s pretty matte while still doing a pretty good job holding up on my dry winter skin without accentuating dry patches. I use a mild chemical exfoliant (Neogen Gauze Peeling Wine pads) every morning in the winter and wouldn’t want to apply it on top of full-on flakes, but it is forgiving.
With a drugstore setting spray this foundation is true to its name and has barely faded by the end of the day. I wore it as a bridesmaid to my sister’s wedding and noticed it looked great in photos into the evening, which is what shifted this foundation into the buy-again category for me.
Con is that the shade range is very limited, I think only 5 shades. And as I said, Vanilla, which is probably in the middle of lightness in their range is *very* light. Anyone darker than a light tan is probably not going to find their shade in this range, for which reason I took a lippie off.
