I bought it based on good reviews. The major problem was, it oxidized after haft an hour or so giving my complexion an unnatural grayish white shade. I first had no idea that the foundation was oxidizing; actually thought maybe I needed a warmer shade. So, impulsively I bought another one just a shade warmer. And I had the same problem. Things got worse 2-3 months after not only these foundations oxidized on my face but they also gave me bad texture.

Great dewiness and formula. Moisturising and well pigmented. It just didn’t last very long before it completely disappeared off my chin and nose.
If you set it really well it may last longer. I had a sample and used it without a great primer I would contemplate trying it again but I prefer other foundations. . I would avoid this if I had a slight amount of oil in my skin. I am a nw15 to 18 and used I20

I don’t like this foundation at all.
It has medium to high coverage and creamy texture, and it’s very long lasting.
Once applied it oxidize on my skin into something pink grey. I’ve tried B40 at the store it directly went very pink on my rather neutral light-medium complexion, then sales rep matched me to 140, that in bright daylight is also very very pink with a grey undertone and far from neutral.
Once the foundation applied it settles within seconds and my skin gets a very textured look. I wouldn’t call this foundation radiant, on my normal dehydrated skin it looks rather matte.
The removal is a nightmare. Nothing can get this off my face or my makeup brush. I believe this stuff is swim-proof!
I think people with cool skin tones who prefer higher coverage and extreme lasting power can appreciate this one.

Unfortunately I am disappointed with this foundation. I have the shade B20 Natural Light Beige which is a fairly good match to my skin. Pros – good coverage and reduces the appearance of redness and pigmentation, creamy consistency that blends well with a brush, mild fragrance, pump bottle that allows easy control of amount dispensed. Cons – this is the first foundation I have ever used that leaves my skin shiny to greasy looking despite my dehydrated and slightly dry skin and regardless of the type of moisturiser or primer I use under it. This leads to the next issue which is the lack of lasting coverage across the day. The radiant finish on the product label is not a dewy sheen but an oily layer that is unflattering and highlights pores. The deal breaker for me though is that it also shows up dehydrated flaky skin on the cheek area closest to my nose. I have used this product the morning after exfoliating and wearing a moisture mask to bed (on many occasions) and it still manages to emphasise my flaws. I’m reluctant to use too much powder to mop up the shine as that too shows flakiness. Okay, so my skin has some issues but I know I have used foundations at a lower price point that have not performed as badly.

This foundation is just so easy to use. It is my go-to foundation when I’m in a rush because I know it blends so perfect and fast.
The only bad thing about this is the shade range.
I do not have a shade for the winter time, where it’s often most needed as it is a thicker foundation, that makes winter skin look radiant.
I do not use it in summer, as it’s too heavy for my liking.
I have gone through 2 bottles, but I don’t think I’ll re-purchase as I’m hoping to find something similar with a better shade range.
If the shade range was better, I would definitely re-purchase!
So yea, this foundation would be my HG 🙁
I apply this with a dense kabuki brush, which I think give the best results. Sometimes I do set it with powder in my T-zone.
The product has a slight perfume scent.
Go get a sample if you are looking for a foundation with:
– Medium to full coverage
– Very easy to blend
– Great on dry skin
– Great with acne skin or scarring
– A beautiful radiant skin
– Doesn’t look cakey
– Doesn’t make your skin dry

I bought this foundation because of the reviews below.
For a start, I am 30 and my skin is combination to dry (used to be combination to oily but due to nature of my work flying around and age, my skin just gets drier).
First, I apply Shiseido’s tinted gel cream after my skincare, and then this all over my face. Just half a pea size amount, spread it thinly all over two of my fingers and apply onto my face in streaks before blending them all using my fingers. The coverage is medium to high I would say, and I do not need to apply my concealer under my eyes nor over the occasional redness from pimples etc.
I have also tried applying this using a damp Real Techniques’ sponge instead of fingers and the coverage seemed more towards light to medium as well as more ‘glowy’. I set this foundation with Innisfree sebum mineral powder on my t-zone and undereye and this lasts for close to 8 hours for me without touchups needed. On the other hand, when I apply Charlotte Tilbury’s airbrush flawless finish powder to set this, I get oily after 2-3 hours of wear. So I supposed the powder really affects the finish of this foundation.
I supposed the packaging is light due to the fact it’s plastic, but it kinda feels cheap and the fact that we can’t really see how much stuff is left makes this a 4 for me.
Edit (Jan 2020) tried this foundation with dry real techniques sponge and it was a higher coverage (as compared to damp sponge) with a even nicer and smoother finish but less glow/radiance.

This has become my go to foundation. It’s creamy and gives a medium to full coverage on my 53 year old skin without any caking. I do apply it sparingly and usually over primer. There’s definitely a glow and it’s long lasting too. What I love is that it is dewy but not shiney. I find I barely need under eye concealer with this. I’m NW25 and B40 is just about right for me. I sometimes need to darken it slightly and use a drop Dr Hauska (sp?) liquid mixed in with it to achieve this.
I find this applies best with fingers.
Looking at the reviews, this seems to be more appreciated the older the reviewer. I’d say it’s worth the investment for anyone who is finding their old liquid foundation isn’t quite cutting it anymore but doesn’t want cakey high coverage.

I’m a MAC NW 15-20 and the B20 shade is a great match. I find the color stays true and doesn’t oxidize darker on me with wear.
I really, really like this foundation. It comes in a pump, is creamy and applies nicely with a brush. The coverage is a high medium and definitely provides luminosity. It’s a healthy look but not as natural looking as foundations with a more sheer or medium coverage. It definitely does provide a long lasting glow.
So with the great review thus far, why only a 4 star rating? For me, this foundation stays a bit tacky. I guess it’s better to keep the moisture and the glow but I’m not crazy about the tackiness. I’ll try it with a couple of other primers to see if that helps. I could add some setting powder but then that defeats the whole point of having luminosity. This might be my perfect foundation if only it wasn’t sticky to the touch.
I’ll update this review after I’ve played with the foundation a bit more.
Update: this works much better and dries down with no stickiness when I use a different primer. I’d still rate it a 4. This is an good higher coverage foundation if that’s what you are looking for.

I blind bought this from Strawberrynet so hadnt swatched or seen shades. I got WB40 warm beige even though i am cool toned as it was 70% off I think! Gorgeous foundation, Id go so far as to say best Ive ever used and thats a helluva lot! It was a fantastic shade for me so they must be leaning towards pinkish….which I personally like. Of course you should try before buying to get shade match. The finish is not at all greasy but dewy looking coverage excellent for my broken veins, redness etc. Paula Begoin of Paulas Choice dismissed this as it contains a small % of lavender oil. I realise this is not ideal but it is an amazing foundation and is my new HOLY GRAIL. Shiseido please omit the lavender oil!

I very like this foundation. I’m in the shade I40. I have normal to dry skin with some flaw and this foundation give me high medium coverage. Nice glow not oily as the name said radiant. This last on me all work day and it fade beautifully throughout the day not patchy at all on my skin. I apply this foundation with damp beauty blender I don’t like to apply any foundation with brushes it leave streak marks. This foundation doesn’t oxidize on me. I bought this at Shiseido store for $45 before tax. Great foundation.
Update 01/30/18; I low down 1 star for color selection. It good foundation but only winter month or dry skin type all year round and who need full coverage. I never get good match with any of Shiseido foundation. I hope Shiseido will give more range for colors in all there foundation line.
