I cannot believe I haven’t reviewed this as it is my HG. I’m on my third bottle. It’s the formula I’m addicted to: it’s light coverage that’s buildable to medium. You can swipe it on sheerly, or pack on the coverage without issue. Late 40s, combination skin that’s increasingly dry in winter, but gets sweaty in summer and a bit oily. It never looks patchy over dryness. It never cakes or separates, either, except in the warmest weather (at that point, I use L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte). It is truly my-skin-but-better. It is not matte, but not dewy–a natural finish with an ever-so-slight, believable sheen. I wear more in the middle of my face, and taper out to nothing towards my jaw effortlessly. I seriously cannot say enough about this stuff.
Shade range is the only bummer. I’m NL10-15, depending on how the rosacea is behaving, with a cool, pink undertone. My first bottle was 00N Porcelain – light enough, but much too yellow for me. That said, I loved the formula so much that I made it work by wearing it in the center of my face and blend out to bare skin just underneath the cheekbone. I’m shocked that the ‘method ‘was feasible, but you couldn’t even tell, it’s that good. Nonetheless, I’d prefer a pink undertone.
Imagine my surprise to find there is one, 01C, but no one in the US seems to sell it. You can see it swatched, in fact, on Sephora but it is never stocked. I finally found it at Harrods in UK–and bought two bottles (and a half, if you count shipping, gah). I wear drugstore lipstick, concealer, and other things, but…LDP has no substitute for 3/4 of the year on this aging face. I like it even better than Armani Luminous Silk: for reference, it’s a tiny bit thicker, with better buildability while still offering a sheer option like LS.

I have had for ages but rarely use it. Everytime that I do my skin itches and I get breakouts. I always apply on clean skin and remove properly – I have used 3 different Guerlain foundations and all of them cause breakouts for me. They are v fragranced. (Incidentally Chanel and Dior wreck my skin too.) This one, even when set with a Lancome powder, did not last half a day. It either becomes patchy or disappears almost entirely. I don’t have oily skin which would have explained this. The one thing I can say in its favour is that it looks good on my mom.

Excellent foundation! I am older but have good skin. It looks very natural and does not collect in cracks or emphasize wrinkles. I wear it over a primer and have never had trouble with dray spots.Great finish! I have light skin with a yellow cast and wear 02W.

I received a tiny sample of this foundation after buying two amazing Guerlain perfumes(French Kiss and Gourmand Coquin),it’s shade 03/Natural which is an almost good match for my N15/20 face but slightly darker than my N10/15 neck(my face is slightly darker than my neck,my face has a cool, pink undertone while my neck is neutal-slightly yellow).I guess shade 02 would work better for me as it oxidizes(but very slightly) eventhough shade 03 is easily wearable too.
It’s scented and as a perfume lover I don’t have any problem with scented makeup unless they irritate my skin or I don’t like how they smell.this one doesn’t irritate my sensitive, reactive skin even a bit
I applied it on my skin with fingers and without any primer.I had just moisturized an hour before with La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Fluid.this foundation has an almost liquid-like texture and I usually stay away from watery foundations because thick, moisturizing foundations sit better on my dry skin but this one was better than any liquid foundation I have ever tried.it blended smoothly on my skin with a sheer to medium coverage but still managed to cover the redness I have on my cheeks.it’s exactly what I always expected a nude foundation to be like.a your skin but better look, and it was really as if I don’t have any makeup on my face, just a nice, even natural skin.it’s not matte by any means but not dewy either.it’s EXACTLY like natural, healthy skin
But it started to show up dry patches on my skin after half an hour.I can’t blame this foundation as it happens for me with 90% of foundations.at least it didn’t look dry and powdery or cakey.it kept looking perfect from half a meter away but I could see tiny dry patches when I looked closely in mirror.after couple of hours it remained unchanged just that it looked a bit more dry
all in all I like it and believe it can be a perfect foundation if your skin isn’t extremely dry or extremely oily and if you prefer natural/nude look..right now Hiland mall has a 15% discount on all high-end cosmetics and I will probably choose Guerlain Baby Glow over this(it may be a foolish decision as I’m going to have an online shopping and have never tried that one)
but I will tik repurchase as I know I’m going to buy Lingerie de Peau Natural Perfection Foundation some day.when my skin’s dryness problem is solved a bit

This is very bad for the skin because of the strong perfume. The perfume smell does not go away, it keeps smelling strong the whole day. Also, it oxidizes. I’d did look good at first and then started turning orange. I returned mine and lost interest in this brand. If they want to charge so much, it better be safe with good color range that won’t make you look like oompa loompa.

Tried a sample of this in the older version (the ingredients are still the same); shade 2W (31) – and it applied beautifully, looked a little light for my NC15/NC20 skin – but the undertone was perfect (yellow). However, it applied beautifully and really WOWED me after I got done applying this with a sponge. BUT – once I had applied a little of my setting powder, this went downhill FAST on my skin. Within the next hour – it started to breakdown/separate on my skin. This is water based, and I can only use water-based primers, so I know it wasn’t an issue of applications – and it looked beautiful and covered beautifully over all my skincare – so I have no idea what happened, but by 9AM – I had to wipe this off my face. Ugh. Sometimes I think I’m better off with foundations with talc higher up in the ingredients than mica or silica. But this is lovely once applied if you can get it to last. Bummer. I do love Guerlain’s primers, though and have repurchased those.

Bourjois serum foundation is my favourite drugstore foundation.
This is my favourite high-end foundation.
I love how it looks on my skin. It’s light-medium coverage, it evens out my skintone and it looks natural, in a way that makes me feel beautiful and confident. And it has a powdery flowery smell, which I love.
It is quite expensive I think, so I only wear this when I want to feel ‘extra’ for the day.
Would definitely repurchase and if Guerlain discontinue this I think I would die lol

I thought I have found my HG foundation when I got my YSL youth liberating serum foundation but this one topped it off by another mile. The texture is very watery but the coverage is very good. I used it when I just finished my cautering treatment that left burn marks on my face and I almost don’t need concealer (except for the big marks). The finish is dewy, the kind that makes you look like you have a healthy glow. Very easy to work with and good staying lower, even without primer. I wore this for 5 hours and barely notice its fading – but then again I haven’t tested it for longer wear as I hardly wear makeup that much.

This has easily become one of my favorite foundations. My skin is oily but it lasts. I just love how natural it looks. The coverage is just nice as I prefer something with sheer-medium coverage.

Note: I’m using the post-2016 version and the new formula and shade range are different from the pre-2016 ver.
This foundation is literally GOD-SEND but I’m giving it 4 stars because I know it won’t work for everyone. I think my quest for the HG foundation is finally over (until Guerlain decides to discontinue or change the formula again that is).
About me:
Skin type: sensitive (especially during seasonal changes) and combo (dry-combo around cooler months, oily combo around summer months)
Undertone: yellow olive (cooler in winter months, warmer as I tan); most shades either pull gold, pink or orange on me
Tone: Fair-Light (~NC 15) in winter months, Light (~NC 20-25) in summer months
Main concerns: enlarged pores on cheeks, SF on the nose, uneven skin tone (darkness around hairline and redness on cheeks/nose), oiliness in T-zone, occasional dry skin patches
Preferred foundation finish: skin-like(satin/sheer), light coverage
Here’s why it worked for me:
– Doesn’t settle into fine lines or emphasize pores compared to other non-dewy foundations. It actually does a decent job blurring my pores.
– 01N (although 01W is probably a closer fit) pulls a bit peach but has a brightening and color correcting effect on my olive skin, only oxidizes by half a shade and doesn’t pull orange as the day goes on
– Long lasting for my combo skin, meaning that it doesn’t cling to dry patches nor does it easily melt off my t-zone after 4-6 hours of wear
– Skin-like, natural finish, a truly “my skin but better” finish but buildable for those who like it
Here’s why it won’t work for everyone:
– It’s expensive. It’s 63 USD a pop with no discounts.
– It’s not alcohol or fragrance-free.
– Limited shade range outside of Europe (full range: and VERY LIMITED shade range for darker skin tones. I had to order mine on eBay and didn’t get to try on a sample since neither 01N nor 01W is available in the US.
– The shades are a bit weird – just because you’re an NC 30 doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a 03W. Definitely try it on in stores or get a sample if possible.
– You will need to pair it with a moisturizing primer or a mattifying primer depending on the season, your skin type and your problem areas.
– I don’t recommend this for extremely oily or dry skin types.
