This is pretty finicky on my usually oily skin – it can look great sometimes, and some other times it pools on my pores, giving me a weird pockmarked look (not as bad as Becca’s Ultimate Coverage, but not pretty either). Must be the alcohol.
The shade match is great – Linen works very well for my light olive ~NC20 skin.

I am writing this review solely to flag up to other people with SPF allergy that this foundation is not labelled as having an SPF (in UK/EU), BUT a chemical sunscreen, ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, is the fifth ingredient. I had a reaction to this and my skin is a mess.

What’s all the fuss about? Why the hype?? I DON’T GET IT. Ugh – where to begin. SMELL: Right off the bat, the smell is BAD and STRONG. Smells like paint thinner or very chemically anyway with some Fabreeze-like fragrance thrown in (probably to mask the chemical smell) – – and the smell lingered on my face. Gross. FEEL: This makeup had a weird consistency – as if it wouldn’t offer much coverage (runny). Felt a bit like a serum, but it doesn’t sink into my face. LOOK: this foundation made my skin look at least 10 years older! It zapped any moisture I had in my face right out. It emphasized every hair, pore, line, and bit of texture in my face (and I have great skin for a 54 year old). My face looked super matte after putting this on which I would never have expected after watching a few beauty gurus rave about it. Not only matte but with a powdery look to it once done w/application. Weird! It applied with a medium coverage but made me look so old and dried out that I was afraid to apply more to see what full coverage would look like (and this was with a damp beauty blender). Plus the smell was worrying me so much that I didn’t want to apply more. The packaging could be improved – the foundation drips down the side of the top where product comes out of pump leaving area around the pump a mess. The Believe Beauty foundation that I bought from a dollar store chain is better than this – seriously. Still haven’t found anything that beats the Fiona Stiles Luminous Finish Foundation for more mature and acne prone / combo skin (not even La Mer beats that). FINAL THOUGHTS: this foundation might work for oily skin (for which a mattifying effect might be welcome), but I advise you avoid this foundation. There are better options out there without so much fragrance, with a better consistency and a more natural and luminous appearance.

Want to start by saying I initially loved this foundation and wish I could continue to wear it! It has a good colour match for me, looks very nice and lasts really well! BUT I think due to the fragrance and alcohol content I cannot wear it. I tried it out for about 5 months… I started to develop very bad eczema around my eyes on and off (swelling, burning, itchy dry patches). I assumed that it was seasonal allergies. I tried creams and allergy tabs to fix it…One day decided I should just use up the last of my old foundation rather than waste it (I had totally decided the Loreal foundation was my new go to). I had about 4 weeks left of my old foundation. Well in that time up until now my eye issue has totally resolved. It could be coincidence, but honestly I think the foundation was the cause. I have thought of maybe now trying again to see, but honestly it was that bad I dont want to go through it again. Obviously very disappointed as I really liked the product!!

My acne-prone, oily, clogged, super textured skin is SO finicky that even the popular Estee Lauder Doublewear and Revlon Colorstay look terrible on me (believe me, I’ve given both of those foundations so many chances over the years).
Needless to say, I was SHOCKED at how well my skin handled L’Oréal Fresh Wear foundation! It feels lightweight and makes my skin look like actual SKIN (which is awesome, because I can’t say the same about any other medium-to-full foundation I’ve tried in the past few years). Coverage is medium, but buildable. If I’m having an extra-bad skin day, I just make sure to use a heavier concealer on my red acne marks.
Something that a few YouTube reviewers haven’t mentioned: this foundation does have a perfume-y, powdery fragrance. I don’t really want my foundation to smell like anything, but honestly this one has grown on me! The scent is vaguely reminiscent of Bourgeois Healthy Mix or a Lancôme foundation I used to wear.
The shade 420 True Beige leans *slightly* too olive for my NC20 skin. It’s a great match, but since I’m already very sallow, I try to pick foundation shades that have a bit of pink added, to brighten/liven up my skintone. Now that I went through an entire bottle of shade 420, I’m going to try 415.

-i have used this for a whole year- This foundation is HORRIBLE i dont know why i keep seeing positive reviews. not that good of a coverage honestly and i have never seen a product oxydise SO MUCH the minute it’s on my face it turns orange like completely orange like fruit orange. also it make my skin so oily! in 4hours my skin get so oily i have to dab it with paper even though i have powder on! and if i try to get rid of the oil by putting more powder on it starts to look all cakey and weird. it also makes me break out and then red spots and pimples look gray under it it’s so weird. only good things about it are the bottle looks cute and it feels sikly on your skin when you first apply it.

I wanted to love this product because of all the hype on youtube and influencers but it just did not work for me. I am oily, combination and sensitive. Though it did not break me out, it’s just too drying on the skin. It’s too matte and accentuated texture on the face, bumps under my eyes, cheeks and so on. Ughhh…but i love the pump.

This foundation works great for my oily skin. It’s one of the longest-wearing foundations I’ve tried, and it looks very natural on the skin. It’s really lightweight too. I would say coverage is medium but buildable.

Love love love this foundation.
Skin type: Combination, with more oily side.
My shade in this foundation: 125 Natural Rose
Other foundation shade: Estee Lauder Double Wear 3W1 Tawny, Revlon Colorstay 310 Warm Golden, Maybelline Fit Me Matte 128, L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte 104
COLOR SHADE
I’m Asian, with medium olive skin tone. It’s really difficult to find drugstore foundation that compliment my skin shade. Most of my other foundations require me to fix them with yellowish powder to match my shade. However, this shade match my skin almost 95%
APPLICATION & COVERAGE
With brush : Matte finish. Higher coverage, medium to full. But it leaves your skin looking dry, if you have texture and pores.
With sponge: Satin finish. Lighter coverage, yet buildable. It looks soooo good when applied with sponge. As if like your second skin.
PRIMER
I use silicone type primer, like Benefit Porefessional or Maybelline Baby Skin. Do not use mattifying primer since it can cause your skin look dry, even if you are oily type. Primer can also make the foundation looks more opaque. I primed half of my face, and I need to use twice amount of the unprimed side to achieve same coverage on both side.
Longetivity: Can last me around 8 hours and more. I always blot with tissue ‘cos I have oily skin, so any foundation will melt and separate if I don’t blot my face. Once, I fall asleep without washing my face, and the foundation stayed on my face.

I bought this based on many good online reviews, and it does not disappoint. My skin is light to medium, and the shade 425 is perfect. The formula is liquid and the packaging is nice, a glass bottle with a pump. I’ve applied it both with my fingers and a sponge, and it gives a nice, even, natural looking finish both ways. I find the coverage to be easily buildable, and it blurs imperfections. It doesn’t settle into fine lines. The finish is slightly matte. Once it sets, I use a light dusting of powder and I’m good to go. The wear time for me is usually 8 to 10 hours, and it still looks fresh and even when I go to take it off at night. No huge difference between this and other high end foundations I have tried. Great price and easy to find. I would definately repurchase.
