This rates at a 2.75 for me.
I hold my hands up – I wouldn’t normally buy a foundation like this as I just cannot justify a £36 price tag. However, I saw this in TK Maxx (I know, what?!) for £20 in a colour I thought matched me reasonably well so I knew I had to give it a whirl…
In a nutshell, it’s OK but it’s not worth £36…
PROS
Good range of colours covering cool, warm and neutral skintones – be wary though as the cool tones are quite yellow!
Photographs well
VERY matte as it suggests (a pro and a con – a pro because it lives up to it’s claims but a con because it’s a bit too much for me)
Decent oil control especially with a primer spray underneath – limited wearing in usual spots
CONS
Very dry looking (this sucked moisture out my skin completely! Prep your skin well before using this otherwise problem areas like under eye lines will be very crepey!)
Not natural – you can visibly see the makeup on your skin (this is definitely a ‘night out’ foundation as opposed to an every day base)
Packaging is problematic – although very sleek and luxe, the opening of the pump is tiny and dispenses minimal product. It also gets clogged easily, resulting in product ‘shooting out’ awkwardly/unpredictably. Totally impractical. I have to unscrew the pump and dab it on the back of my hand using the plastic tube attachment (you know the bit I mean) which is a bit ridiculous!
Formula is quite difficult to blend as it is VERY thick/heavy (almost ‘gloopy’) – it just sort of ‘sits’ on the skin rather than ‘fusing’ with it (flawless fusion, what?)
Looks more ‘cakey’ than other full coverage foundations I have as it highlights pores/texture more obviously
Price. This retails for £36 which I just cannot justify.
The lack of SPF (a pro or a con, depending on your preference – given the price, it’s a con for me)
Although this is fungal acne safe, every time I have worn this I have noticed blemishes appearing just days after wearing this. It’s important to note that there is alcohol in this which is known to be problematic for sensitive skin.
And on that note, would I buy it again?
I hate to say no because it’s Laura Mercier but…no. I do wonder if the Lumiere version might be more suited to my skin? To be honest, for a product that retails for £36 I expect no product breakdown, no dryness, no caking and for the formula to feel/look like GOLD on my skin…sadly I just don’t get that from this base. It’s not awful but it’s not ‘love’.

I really wanted to like this foundation. It seems to be extremely popular with alot of influencers, however, it truly didn’t work for me. The pros are that it is long-lasting and mattifying. The cons are that it settled into every pore and fine line I have. It looked cakey and felt heavy on my skin. I tried applying it with a foundation brush and a beauty blender. It is also pricey, so I’m glad I just got a sample from Sephora. It’s a no.

Closest thing to HG I have found and I have tried so many! For reference, I am almost 40 (😳) with normal, acne-prone skin. I have been looking for something that will last throughout the day but that isn’t super-matte and does not break me out.
Coverage: I feel like it is medium to full. I apply it with a BB. Feels very comfortable on the skin. Not too heavy.
Finish: Natural, not flat.
Lasting power: Great! I don’t even use a primer with this and easily get 9 hours +
Acne friendly? For my skin, yes! No breakouts or clogged pores whatsoever 👍🏻
Shade: I tried Cashew, which claims to be neutral but I found it looked more pink on me. Macadamia is what I am using now and it is a tad too yellow but not too noticeable.
Price: A wee higher than I’m used to ($51) but I don’t have to used as much product as my other foundations so it’s worth it.
Would I buy again? Definitely! The only reason I wouldn’t call this my HG is because I compromise with the shade not matching exactly. Otherwise it’s a 5 out of 5!

I’m in the shade 2w1 macadamia & this foundation is one of the best foundations I’ve come across ! I have oily skin so I always have to be wary when buying a foundation that it have a matte finish & man does this deliver , it’s like a satin/demi matte without making you look washed out or flat. The coverage I feel is a medium coverage which I really like because it looks natural , it makes my skin look like a better version of itself , not cakey or heavy just sinks in. I use it with the Mac skin base visage primer one of my all time best primers & in conjunction with this foundation it looks really good. It lasts an entire working day (9hrs) no problem. Can become a touch oily towards the end but not super noticeable. An added bonus is the packaging it comes with a pump which is great! Overall I love it and I love how natural it looks 🙂

This foundation is a solid medium coverage that can be built to full without looking cakey. I love the flawless finish and it does wear all day without breaking apart. The finish is satin-matte and keeps my oily t-zone under control. I have the colour 2N1 Cashew (light with neutral undertone). For the longest time Nars Sheer Glow was my go-to and favourite, but Flawless Fusion is quickly rising in rank because it has higher coverage and comes with a pump! I am most likely going to buy another shade darker for my summer skin because Cashew will only suit me at my palest.

So far I love that it does not oxidize and when I apply powder it does not extenuate my dry areas. This is a FULL COVERAGE FOUNDATION .This foundation works well with the LM primer I do recommend the pair. The product itself is not thick it feels almost gel like when you are applying it, I prefer to buff it out with a brush.

If you have dry skin, don’t shy away! There is a way to enjoy the benefits of this foundation, without sacrificing the comfort.
I love a sheer-medium coverage and believe me, you can achieve that with this medium-full coverage formula. It is incredibly lightweight and blends like a dream. Shade range for the most part is great too, I use shade Cashew and it is a perfect match for someone with NC20 skin tone. It lasts on me all day long and gets better, dewier as the day goes by. It might accentuate patches of dry skin, so make sure to keep things smooth and exfoliated.
To sheer this foundation out, I would typically use one pump only and dilute it in moisturizer/illuminating primer. This way I get the most beautiful canvas, which feels light and breathable. I think this is a wonderful product. If you want to read more about this and other Laura Mercier bestsellers, check out my detailed review here ( Hope it helps!

It’s such a shame, but I can only trust this foundation when I’m in an environment where I can constantly tend to my skin.
Pros:
Look beautiful in HD photographs
Great shades for very golden/yellow undertones
Works with a brush or sponge
Doesn’t oxidize
Can build to high medium coverage
Doesn’t break out my very acne prone skin
Cons:
Only holds up for 5 hours on my oily skin before it totally separates
Should be in a squeeze tube instead of a pump
Seems like some shades hold up (on skin) longer than others
I really wish this had a longer wear time for me. To make it last for 10 hours, I mix in a drop of MAC SFF, generous amount of Ben Nye neutral setting powder, spritz Skindinavia setting spray, and blot throughout the day. It’s a perfect color match and natural looking, so I’m keeping it in my stash for special occasions.

This product was not great for me. It sits in every single line on my face and makes me look a lot more tired than I am – kind of the opposite of what I need it for! It also looks very ‘flat’ on my combination skin and has no depth to it at all. It comes off the face and leaves patches of uncovered skin within a few hours of wear. I used it with Laura Mercier powder and the foundation tends to sit on top of my skin regardless of my skin routine prior to application and then the powder then sits on top of that. Nothing seems to gel together. I have used the powder with other foundations and had more success.
Sadly, not one for me

1st impression review: Will update later after a couple of testings.
Shade:
I’m shade NC40-44 and got the shade 4N1 Suntan. This is supposed to be neutral but it leans VERY warm. I don’t want to know how orange the W’s in this line are. Matches me quite well but like I said, leans too warm.
Packaging: Comes in a frosty bottle with faux wooden rubber lid. Very pretty and sleek.
The pump distributes a small amount at one pump and let’s you control the amount you want. I need about 4 pumps for my enitre face. I guess it will get messy in a while cause of the dark cap/pump.
Texture/application/finish:
Consistency is medium thick. I need to work quite quick with it for it to blend nicely. You need to work it in nicely into your skin or it will look blotchy. Coverage if medium and you can build it up to full. I applied 2 layers and it doesn’t look or feel cakey at all. It feels like I’m wearing nothing which I really appreciate.
I didn’t feel the need to set this with a powder, but I will def try that out to see how it affects the longevity.
I have normal/oily t-zone, live in Thailand and this makes my skin look very smooth and healthy. I would say it sets as a satin matte. Looks very smooth and hydrated not dry or tight. I really hope it will hold up. I will try it in AC environment, outside (humid and 30+ degrees) and let you all know how it goes. I just had to write this review cause I couldn’t find many online review describing the shades for an NC42.
Update: I have been using it indoors, in a non AC environment, entire day. This time I set it with a powder to see the difference since last time.
I got a little oily after 3 hours but nothing major. The hear here is now closer to 40° outside so that is a factor to my slightly more oily skin as well, so keep that in mind.
It still looked good in the end of the day without any patches except from the sides of my nose where I tend. to get most oily. I blotted 2 times with my Fit me pressed powder and my skin looked just as great as when I applied the foundation first in the morning. It didn’t make me look cakey or uneven.
I’m happy to report that the foundation held up very well and looks pretty throughout the day.
