Why? Why did this product have to go?
When I first bought the original Make Up For Ever Face and Body foundation that is now discontinued (not the reformulation), I was still new to makeup but even then I knew quality when I could see it.
I could justify the price tag because I had chosen this foundation after trying several foundations on my hand at Sephora.
The liquidy texture and dewy dry-down let me know that it would be stunning on my skin as it mimicked skin.
Many others went on thick or dried down matte like paint after a few minutes–this would provide heavier coverage and more makeupy looks than the natural no-makeup makeup look I was going for, or in other words, makeup that doesn’t look like makeup.
What made me finally grab the foundation and rush to the checkout line after some time of perusing is seeing a customer with the best makeup I have seen to date. Of course, I had to ask.
She told me that she had on MUFE Face and Body (with MUFE Pro-Finish powder on top), which was the precise foundation that I was eyeing but she had not known I had been eyeing (actually at the moment it was between MUFE Face and Body and MUFE HD, which dried thin and skin-like but matte).
With her recommendation, I grabbed both the Face and Body and the Pro-Finish after trying them both on my face and loving the combination.
I wore my makeup like that for the rest of the day and could not have been happier.
This foundation stays exactly the same all day; gives the skin hyper-dimension; looks skin-like, sheer, light, fresh and dewy; applies easily and smoothly; gives off stunning radiance; and makes you look incredibly gorgeous.
I can still say years later, this product was literally one of the best-made makeup products of all time.

does absolutely nothing… wasted $$$.
no coverage at all, just colored ‘water’….
very weird texture, goes bad quickly, might freeze in cold climate as contains a lot of water.
shake well before use

UPDATE 28/08: Still my favourite foundation. When I wear this, people are surprised that I’m wearing foundation and I get compliments how pretty I am when I wear this. I’m not gonna blame this product for my past acne/cystic now, as I’m putting it down to hormones.
UPDATE 11/08: After giving a glowing review of this product, I had to knock off a lippy. If I wear this everyday, I get acne/cystic spots eventually so I have to use it sparingly now.
I generally have a good day with this foundation and can do no wrong however, it wasn’t so dewy one day and I had it on after a few hours. It also highlighted my pimples on my jawline. I washed this off and wore my Dr Perricone MD No Foundation No Foundation Serum instead. This was a nice change because that foundation feels a lot lighter and it was looking better than what I was expecting. Overall, foundations can have its on and off days so it will always be difficult to find the HG.
Old Review:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this foundation. I only apply 2 pumps of shade #32 (summer shade) on top of a spf moisturiser – Palmers Cocoa Butter SPF 15 Daily Lotion pairs brilliant with this foundation! Sometimes I use 2 more pumps from shade #20 and I still get a super healthy, natural dewy look, especially paired with a tinted lip balm and cheeks. This helps even my skin tone but not heavily which is expected by opting a sheer coverage*. This look continues looking great throughout the day, especially during the night where it still looks amazingly naturally radiant. I never touch up when I have this on apart from with concealer. This doesn’t cake yet it smooths out the pores by the side of my nose. I love how I can instantly look like I have a natural dewy healthy glow – whilst softening the appearance of my face. I haven’t come across a foundation that beats this yet. Been silly to still try out and purchase other foundations based on rave reviews, but nothing comes close to this. I have skin textures on my face which I’m not proud of and concerned with the way my smile lines appear under my eyes when I smile. This is the only foundation that enhances my skin, appearing skin like, making it seem smoother and my eye lines softer.
*Forget when people say this foundation is only for people with perfect skin. I don’t and this makes me feel like I have GOOD/GREAT skin. Even if it doesn’t fully cover blemishes, it makes skin appear better overall which is more important to me.
I can wear this morning to night and not freak at all the slightest of it suddenly going weird or behaving like typical foundation.
P.S: I can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror when I have this on 😀 as the satin effect acts as natural highlighters on the right places on my face, acting as a natural contour.
Undetectable/foolproof/enhances skin/evens skin tone/looks like better skin/radiant – what more can I say!

Luckily I opted for a sample of this before going the whole hog and shelling out for a full bottle.
On the plus side it doesn’t seem to irritate my sensitive rosacea prone skin. It also does not seem to make me look oily in the heat.
Downside, and it is a deal breaker for me, is it has almost no coverage even if layered.
I have no patience with putting several layers of foundation on (plus concealer!)-especially if it STILL looks sheer.
This may suit young lovelies with perfect skin but not a fifty four year old with rosacea.
Don’t get me wrong,- I don’t go for the mask effect at all. I like a natural look.
But if I am going to wear foundation I expect it to earn it’s keep.

This has been reformulated and new shades made, now called Water Blend.

Absolutely wonderful foundation, it might be too early to say but could be my HG very quickly! The shade range of all of MUFE is way too odd to me, but I googled a lot and believed shade 20 would be good for my skin as I have to order MUFE online and it is honestly the best skin colour match I have ever ever had. Brilliant! The reason I didn’t give this 5/5 is purely because the formulation is a little odd and can take some getting used to – the foundation itself is almost gel or jelly-like? I find it best applied with fingers (something I usually never do) but it is the most beautiful light and natural coverage I have ever seen. It honestly looks like skin! My go-to daily light makeup foundation was the NARS Tinted Moisturiser in Alaska but upon using this, I have noticed how much more yellow the colour of the NARS is and the far higher coverage. I still love my NARS, but this is definitely my new favourite and I adoreeeee it. Give it a try if you are considering it, you won’t regret it!

I was looking for a foundation that has really good staying power. I was impressed with the makeup not because of the staying power but of the texture and the ability to build. Don’t be scared off by the colors. While MUFE doesn’t have a lot of colors to choose from the foundation blends naturally into your skin. As for the staying power nothing works as well as Revlon Colorstay.

I’m already on my second bottle of this. After using this foundation, I can’t stand any of the others. This one looks like natural skin when used over a primer. I use number 20, which is a perfect match for my warm ppp skin. It evens everything out. I have combo skin. Coverage is light but I still prefer that over the mask look. If you really don’t want anyone to see your foundation, this is one of the best options. It doesn’t change colour. However I don’t think it’s ideal for mature skin because it doesn’t help with fine lines.

I have been a Mac FNB user prior to this. While walking through duty free at the airport noticed that they finally brought in MUFE and purchased this. Since im going to Bali for holiday thought it might be convenient on the beach, didn’t bring my Mac along due to the airport liquid restriction at 100ml.
Not as good colour selection compare to the Mac one, seems a little off on my skin. I used my finger for application, texture not as runny as Mac, but I do not like it initially, doesn’t stay that well in water (on the beach with no rubbing), doesn’t survive hiking as well, which my Mac one does. Mac is technically fool proof, but could be a little messy during application esp with fingers.
Left this foundation at home for months, until I was packing for my next beach vacation and think why not!! I don’t care if I misplace this foundation during the holiday, so im going to bring it. Went to Bali again this time round, didn’t stay out much on the beach, it works alright, just the way any foundation should be. After constantly travelling around Asia, 3 flights in 2 days, I ended up with crazy dry skin in Hong Kong, and slightly burned too.
Slapped it on in the dry wind with simply just fingers, and got the rest of my face on, my boy actually looked at me and said ‘your skin looks beautiful’ (he applies makeup himself!! Don’t judge, he’s a pretty boy and love some concealer here and there. So I trusted his judgment) it doesn’t cling on dry skin, nice glow.
The verdict is, it is pretty much similar to mac besides its textures, mac appears slightly more shinny tho, I always have some powder on my tzone so it doesn’t bother me. mufe has slightly better coverage. it has a less messy application, since I am always too lazy to wash my hand after foundation and move on to the rest of my face.
And I am actually on retin a right now, mac and mufe fnb are the only foundation I could use without looking like a dry mess!

This is my second face and body product beside MAC. First, I love the texture, it’s more gelly than my MAC and thicker a bit. Second, it has coverage as good as MAC but because it’s thicker, I only applied one layer on my face. Third, actually I love the pump design. Fourth, well it’s hard to bring when travelling. Cuz MUFE used glass bottle but I think it’s elegant and looked expensive.
