Not for oily skin. Love the natural and glowy look, but sadly it doesn’t control oil at all and will not last for +3 hours on my face.

At 53, my skin is obviously not a totally smooth canvas so this foundation is “my skin but better”. I was not looking for a heavy foundation nor a matte one so this one was one of several the cosmetician suggested.
After giving the bottle a good shake, I apply this simply with my fingers. The warmth of my fingers helps blend this and the overall look is a very natural one. That is the look I prefer but if you prefer the look of a heavy made up face this would not be for you.
Sadly, the negative reviews seem to be from people expecting full coverage which this foundation never claimed to be!

Very natural, BUT DO NOT WEAR IF YOU HAVE TEXTURE!
My pitted skin looked 90,000x’s worse.
Although it’s natural, the coverage is pretty bad
and it faded and slipped by the end of the day.
My face was also SUPER dried out at the end of the day

This was bad. I have acne prone and oily skin, and this stuff would just come apart on my face. I don’t like using primers or anything because my skin is pretty sensitive, but I use porefessional in my t-zone. The makeup kinda slid off those areas and looked so splotchy and horrible within a few hours. So disappointed.

I didn’t like it at all . I didn’t it suit my skin I got acne too and face was horrible after that
I used it one and half ago

This is a very good foundation, but for someone younger than my 59 years. I tried it before I bought at my local Lord & Taylor and I loved how the shade, “Ecru,” was a perfect match for my NC 25 complexion (I had tried the original version of liquid Double Wear in the same shade about 10 years ago and was impressed with the shade and coverage). It has good coverage, is buildable, and feels lightweight on my face, but in bright daylight and fluorescent office lighting it collects in lines and wrinkles and highlights all texture imperfections: large pores, crows feet, that first horizontal forehead wrinkle. I don’t use primer, so maybe that’s my problem. I prefer a dewier, light-reflecting finish as I get older. This makeup doesn’t do that for me.

This is gorgeous.. I usually use a cc cream, but decided to venture into the world of foundations. I am 37 and I have pretty good skin with an occasional pimple and a few light acne scars. I guess I was just looking for a more perfected face and this does the job. It lasts all day and color 3n1 is perfect for me. I am looking forward to trying more foundations, but I can see straying too far from this! It’s also really easy to apply. I use a buffing brush, but I have used my fingers and it’s just as perfect. I can’t see messing up the application as it blends beautifully. The finish is not matte or luminous, it’s just perfect! I do set with powder, lately Laura mercier glow translucent, but it also looks fab without. So glad I found this! I think I will try Armani luminous silk next, as people seem to love that one:)

I was looking for a light foundation that looked like skin. Even though I read the not so great reviews to this product before buying, I tried it on a mall and bought it. I have used it for one day and I have to say I do like it. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone. Also, my skin has some lines, open pores and heterogeneous texture. The foundation applies nicely and looks natural. It does appear shinier after a few hours but blotting with a tissue solves the problem. I tried reapplying some product on my nose and under eye area after 3 hours of wear and it did a great job blending with the rest of the makeup. At my age you want a foundation that looks like skin and conceal wherever you need some concealing, you definitely do not want to wear a mask. I think some of the bad reviews come from people who like a heavy coverage, or who where expecting this foundation to be as full coverage as the regular Double Wear but creamier. This foundation looks natural, stays put and looks fantastic on skin. It has a light coverage buildable to medium. It is, as another commenter said, the perfect tinted moisturizer. I’ve tried B. Brown’s foundations aiming for them to look natural on the skin, however after a few hours my face looks like I’m melting. This foundation, even though it looked shinier after a few hours, did not make me look like I was melting. The foundation looks professional and grown up.
***Edit:
I’ve been using the foundation for a few days. I still like the product a lot. Here are some details I’ve discovered while using the product that might be helpful for others:
As all water based foundations, you have to work it into the skin until you feel that the product is no longer sliding over your skin. You have to blend it until you feel there’s no more product to blend. I find application with fingers works best. Also, it is better to do one light layer, work it into the skin until it is set, then add another layer wherever needed (or everywhere).
With one layer the product does look like skin. With two layers the product sets in a powder like finish. With two layers it still looks very natural, it doesn’t set into pores but it does look like you are wearing foundation, not a lot though. It doesn’t look like a mask.
Finally, I have noticed that if I don’t set the product with powder it looks much more natural and more importantly, it doesn’t get as shinny in the t-zone as when you set it with powder. I have always had the impression that powders are somewhat counterproductive for the purpose they are supposed to serve, especially if you apply them right after finishing doing your makeup. Without powder, the foundation stays put for longer, it does get slightly shinny after several hours but it doesn’t give the appearance that you your face is melting. By the time it does get a little shinny on the t-zone I find that blotting with a tissue is enough to make it look normal again, no need to apply powder at any moment.
I am still very pleased with the product.

This foundation sucks
The ingredients are extremely irritating
It’s stinks like paint
It feels soo heavy
Looks like a mask
Breaks me out like crazy
Very obvious on the skin
Dry looking
The shade selection is average to poor if you are v pale or v dark but an abundance of selection and undertones of you are medium (lucky you)
Long story short .. it’s a no

So, about a month ago my grandfather died and I asked the MU board for recommendations for a foundation that would resist the tidal wave of tears that were sure to happen at his funeral. The original formula of Double Wear was a pretty popular choice, but cyclopentasiloxane gives me cystic acne, and honestly I’m not a huge fan of matte foundations. But in clicking around the EL website I found the “nude” version, and after a quick check the ingredients (cyclopentasiloxane *and* avobenzone free – my two biggest acne/irritation trigger) I was… well, already about 50% in love with it. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a base product w/o cyclopentasiloxane?! ANYWAY, one quick trip my local EL counter for a color match and I was the proud owner of a fresh bottle of this foundation. The shade 2C3 is an exact color match for my NW20-ish skin. Like it’s so exact that you can’t tell I’m wearing foundation with this, my skin is just suddenly, magically perfect.
And it really does make my 30-something, almost 40-something skin look like the best version of itself. It wears just beautifully; never creases, cracks, or separates. It’s not hydrating in and of itself, but it never dehydrates my already dry/dehydrated skin. And while I have had issues with the EL Double Wear Powder oxidizing on me w/ sunscreen underneath that hasn’t been a problem w/ this foundation (I only use a proper foundation primer – MUFE Step 1 Hydrating Primer – about half the time I wear this foundation, otherwise I stick to my usual array of sunscreens under it).
So does this hold up to a flood of tears? Yes it does. It also holds up to a lot of nose blowing, too. Hopefully I won’t have to put it through those kind of rigors again anytime soon, but I did at least FINALLY find my holy grail foundation. Now if only it had a pump top…
