This is a review for the DESIGNER BRANDS LONG WEAR FOUNDATION. I purchased this after hearing a lot of hype about how it’s a dupe for Estee Lauder Double Wear. Upon finding it in store, I was pleasantly surprised by the colour range and relatively ‘fancy’ packaging given that the foundation is pretty cheap (about $12). Although this foundation is decent, it certainly is not a dupe for double wear. It is a lot more cake-y and wore off pretty badly in some areas. It also didn’t do a good job at controlling oil. It was only when I stopped wearing this foundation and went back to Double Wear that I realised how much better the Double Wear formula is. No comparison really.

I heard about this foundation through a first impressions video on YouTube and thought I would try it out. I have quite dry skin and this foundation was fine on my skin. It said this foundation was full coverage but I don’t agree with that, on my skin it was only a light/medium coverage but that didn’t bother me. It definitely lasts for a very long time. The only thing is that it does oxidize a little bit so just think of that when buying a shade. I use classic ivory which is the lightest. A very good product for such a small price, I’m definitely buying this foundation again! 🙂

This is my second Designer Brands foundation that I’ve tried, first I used the Oil Free foundation and now I am currently using the 24 Hour Longwear foundation: and for the price you pay it really isn’t that bad! I paid $15.00 and wasn’t sure what to expect from a “24 hour” foundation since I have combination to oily skin.. Nude Beige matched my skin tone pretty well which was nice and the product blends into the skin well! but you’ll need to do so quickly as it does set rather fast! Despite these things; the foundation did not last all day without areas getting shiny and becoming moveable.. so I am yet to find a foundation that withholds oil and doesn’t smudge off when rubbed or touched 🙁 I take this is happening to me because of my partially oily skin! If you have normal skin type I would say this product may work better for you than for oily or super dry skin types! Otherwise a better primer may do the trick 🙂
Regardless of the oil factor I am still investigating a shine controlling primer to work with the foundation as I am so pleased with its consistency and colour! I will continue using this product unless I find a better foundation 🙂

This is a review for the DESIGNER BRANDS LONGWEAR 24 HOUR FOUNDATION, because there are no reviews for that on makeupalley yet. I was so excited to try this foundation but oh my god it is horrible, possibly one of the worst foundations I’ve ever used. I have very dry skin and this just looked very heavy, flaky and mask-like on me. I think if you have normal/oily skin and want a very thick, full coverage, you might like this foundation. However if you have even slightly dry skin, steer VERY clear of this. Also, the colour selection is horrible, all the shades are extremely pink toned, and for someone with warm/olive undertones, it was a nightmare.

The formula has recently been changed I believe as it seems different to me. It is probably the best foundation for the money in terms of coverage and stay ability. It happens to match my skin colour perfectly. I have mature skin and it is a little dry for me but I counteract this be adding a dot of moisturiser to the mix when I apply it. The pump works fine. It is amazing value for money which is true of all DB products.

I am very light skinned and I think the colours dont go light enough I bought the lightest one and it is very dark on me it is also an uncomfortable consistansy :/ I wont be buying it again or telling anyone else to buy it :/

This is my favourite foundation of all time.
Creamy consistency which moisturises and plumps my skin.
It blends into my skin for a perfect air-brushed finish.
Gives great coverage without feeling like you have foundation on.
My skin looks youthful and has a healthy glow which receives many compliments.
Comes in 8 shades but Ivory is my perfect match.
I love this stuff!!
I have one issue. It comes in a pump bottle and the pump doesn’t work. I am on to my third bottle, I think this is a problem with manufacturing and something they need to look in to seriously. I have informed the company of the problem and they kindly sent me a free foundation with apologies but again the pump didn’t work!! Its very frustrating as the foundation is too thick to pour out so I have to dip a thin brush in to access the product. I will still buy this foundation as it really is the best I have ever used but it loses 1 lipstick for the pump. They need to put it into a tube.
