I bought this to replace Glossier Skin Tint because Glossiers new formula is not fungal acne safe, but this NYX product supposedly is safe according to the Simple Skin Care blog. Well, unfortunatly it broke me out bad, and really fast too. It was so bad the breakout turned into perioral dermatitis and I had to go on doxycylcline for several weeks. I wasn’t 100% that caused the breakout though until my mom used it and it broke her out too! Maybe we were both sensitive to a particular ingredient, though nothing looked out of the ordinary in it.
Even if that hadn’t happened it was no substitute for the old formula of Skin Tint. The colors were weird. I’m about NC25, NC30 with a tan and ended up with Beige Camel because the lighter shades were too light or too pink. It look okay on though. The finish wasn’t as glowy either.

The color Vanilla Nude is a fantastic match for my light olive skin during winter (~NC20), Natural Soft Beige is a better match in summer. Applies well with fingers or a firm brush. I do need to set it with powder, but it lasts well through the day. Decent coverage – covers redness while still looking very natural, the finish is very nice, very skin like. It does transfer a bit more than I would like. Packaging is very practical. Wish there was a matching concealer.

4.5 stars. Purchased in Vanilla Nude. I have been using this regularly for about six months. It really should be applied with fingers. The formula is a bit thick at first, but it warms into the skin to create a natural, skin-like finish.
PROS:
– Doesn’t accentuate my seborrheic dermatitis texture or sink into fine lines
– Good wear time when set properly
– Works well over thick sunscreen
– Wears off gracefully
CONS:
– Product can get runny out of squeeze tube
– Can look oily after long wear time, even on my dry skin
I’m also excited about the shade Vanilla Nude. I have struggled finding affordable products suitable for dry skin with a cool yellow/olive undertone that are light enough, and fortunately this is a perfect match.

I used to love the NYX bb cream before they changed the formula. This is almost exactly like the previous formula. Really like it, has a super nice coverage that you wouldn’t expect from it’s name. Doesn’t look like you are wearing a mask. For reference, I’m a Mac NC15-NC20 and Vanilla Nude looks great on me.

PROS
– easy to apply
– hygienic packaging
CONS
– staying power
– initial finish
COMMENTS: The finish of this doesn’t look good initially (my face looks very textured and I don’t even have textural issues), but does improve with wear. The staying power isn’t the greatest, so best to avoid wearing it during the summer months. Otherwise, it gets me through my day just fine.

I had only bought it because Simple Skincare Blog had listed it as a malassezia-safe foundation with extra stars to show he recommended it most.
Unfortunately this causes me to breakout every time I use it. It also did not have a good enough shade range. It goes on easily but what’s the point if the item actually causes more reactions and inflammation that you want to cover up? It looked fine but so do many other bases.

Wow I really didn’t like this. The only good thing for me was that it didn’t look orange on my pale skin, but that’s it. It felt super tacky all over my face, never seemed to dry down, and highlighted every texture while looking thick and cakey. I felt suffocated in this and had to wash it off to redo my makeup. I also got some breakouts, but they could be from irritating my skin from overwashing to remove this stuff.

I bought this on the fly as I was looking for a new BB cream. I prefer to wear lighter foundations with moisturising properties for my problem skin. A big selling point of this product for me was that it’s supposedly “non-comedogenic” – I think not! I’ve been having some seriously bad breakouts that I’ve not experienced for a very long time, and the only thing I’ve changed in my make-up/skincare routine recently is this. My breakouts are all over my face not in the usual places I get them either, so it’s clearly a reaction to the product itself. Such a shame as it’s a great colour match, and does last well for a BB cream and it provides a nice level of coverage. Going to have to bin it and go back to my usual G.O.S.H. one.
(Note: when using this product it’s also been an unusually warm/humid summer for UK so this might have a factor, but after googling to see if others suffered similar, I found that they have.)

I have to hand it to Nyx, their pale shades are actually pale enough to match my skin tone almost perfectly – and at drugstore prices to boot. I got this in the fairest shade, the pink toned pale light, and even looks good when i’ve hastily applied it on the way to work since it blends in so well with my own skin. I can see why this is described as having seamless coverage, it has a gel-cream formula that is hydrating without being heavy and has a sheer to light level of cover that seems to blur over pores and minor pigmentation issues. I need to use concealer for any spots though, as it won’t fully hide red spots or dark marks.
While it isn’t a matte foundation, it also isn’t dewy either. My skin looks more glowy than usual but in a very subtle way, so even in hot weather I at least don’t look like I have an oil slick on my face. I’m unsure about the 8h wear time claim as I generally need to retouch my base make-up midway through my day because of how oily my face can get. However, after using blotting papers, some tactical concealer here and there, and setting powder, it still looks good by the end of the day. It also doesn’t oxidise to a tangerine shade either, it pretty much stays the same colour as when it’s first applied. All in all I’m really impressed by this, wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is as I bought it on a whim but now I’m so glad I did!

This broke me out worse than I’ve broken out in years. I’m pushing 40 and I have the skin of a teenager after using this for a few days, and not in the good way either. SUCH a shame cause the lightest shade really was perfect and it was just the right amount of coverage I’ve been looking for.
